I have this on a fresh install of 11.04, in about 5 days without rebooting, logging-out/in or suspending my .xsession-errors fills up to about 140 GB. I use this system for work so this is really annoying, rebooting or logging out/in is a hassle because I have to re-setup my environment (I can't automate this). Generation Please ensure you have packages with debug symbols installed. You can do this by following the instructions at DebuggingProgramCrash. Make sure the GNU Debugger is installed. sudo apt-get install gdb Start the program under control of gdb: gdb program 21 | tee ~/gdb-program.txt (gdb) handle SIG33 pass nostop noprint (gdb) set pagination 0 (gdb) run arguments, if any (If the program must run as root, use sudo gdb instead of just gdb above.) The program will start. Perform any actions necessary to reproduce the crash. If the program hangs but doesn't crash you can press ctrl+c in gdb while the program is frozen and then continue with the next step. Retrieve a backtrace: (gdb) backtrace full (gdb) info registers (gdb) x/16i $pc (gdb) thread apply all backtrace (gdb) quit Attach the complete output from GDB, contained in gdb-program.txt, in your bug report. [Bug 854544] [NEW] Hidden controls due missing hardware showed on system settings relaunch
Public bug reported: It seems here is a way to add a battery or a touchpad to your non-laptop system :) Basically System Settings window adds hidden controls (for instance touchpad or battery or just the Search entry in toolbar) if you relaunch it when it's already running. The proper behavior should be raise the window, instead. Here is a video showing the issue: http://ubuntuone.com/6tERKDklQhZo0xvSlklW08 ## Steps to Reproduce ## Let assume you are on a system without a touchpad - launch System Settings and open Mouse and Touchpad - give focus to another window, keeping system setting running and showing mouse settings - relaunch System Settings ## Current result ## hidden Touchpad tab appears, as well as the search entry (this one should be available only in overview mode) ## Expected Result ## raise system settings window ## Additional Notes ## It seems the combobox available in Appearance Background to change the background style (fill, tile, stretch...) is now hidden. [Bug 729280] Re: Totem's default subtitles fonts should be Ubuntu Bold
Sometimes text based subtitles that were created using OCR get the letters I and l mixed up. When you use a subtitle font where the I and l look identical (like the current default Sans font), these kind of errors are not an issue. However, if you use a font where the I and l do not look identical (like the Ubuntu font), these kind of errors will become visible.
