2011-12-02 Thread O. Seidel
Public bug reported:

Hint: I have a german installation - not quite sure, if my translations
are ok. So you'll find the origin german terms in brackets.

- Create a new task
- Fill in the summary (Zusammenfassung)
- Choose target date (Fällig am) Today
- Select priority (Priorität) normal - press Close (Schließen)
- Select a category (Kategorie)
- Reopen the priority window and close it with ESC
- Save the task

[Bug 304889]

2011-12-02 Thread Nicolas-dufresne
Telepathy Butterfly (MSN) already supports SOCKS5 and HTTP Connect proxy
with authentication. I'm working on adding HTTP Connect proxy to Wocky
(while SOCKS5/4a/4 is provided by GLib 2.26 and newer).

I suggest we attach dependency to this bug for tracking. Contrary to
what Pidgin do, Telepathy connection manager rely on system proxy
settings only for now (which are optained using libproxy).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but GNOME 3 proxy settings don't have any

Simon comment was posted in 2008, Gnome 3 didn't yet exist to make proxy

[Bug 34813] Re: gedit fails to save files over smbfs/cifs

2011-12-02 Thread Peter Würtz
Ok this is getting nasty. The latest experience with this bug (Ubuntu
11.10) when trying to edit/save a textfile is a dialog popping up,
telling me that gedit is unable to save the file. If you decide to close
the editor for some reason now, the file is completely gone. You didn't
just loose your changes, you lost the complete text file. There might be
an invisible ~backup file around, but from a users point of view, the
file is gone.

Can we please make that bug critical?

[Bug 893676] Re: Cups disrupts unity window theme

2011-12-02 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package cups - 1.5.0-13

---
cups (1.5.0-13) unstable; urgency=low

  [ Till Kamppeter ]
  * debian/patches/ipp-patch-r8950+.patch: Revert the IPP backend to the state
of CUPS 1.4.x, as the 1.5.x versiuon has major regressions (LP: #877958,
LP: #879625, LP: #881843, LP: #883585, Closes: #638521, CUPS STR #3966,
CUPS STR #3967). This patch will get removed as soon as upstream has fixed
all these regressions. As upstream did not announce any new features for
the IPP backend in the release notes for 1.5.x, we assume that with this
step no features will get lost.
  * debian/patches/dont-send-malformed-dbus-messages.patch: Do not send D-Bus
notifications with too few parameters when there are parameters which
cannot be added to the D-Bus request, especially invalid UTF-8 strings.
This made gnome-session-daemon crash (LP: #893676, CUPS STR #3984).
  * debian/local/filters/cpdftocps: The cpdftocps filter (used for PostScript
printers and for drivers with PPDs which are not PDF-aware) did not
recognize the duplex setting correctly, making duplex not working on
many common printers (LP: #897723).
  * debian/local/filters/cpdftocps: Cleaned up the header comments.

  [ Martin-Éric Racine ]
  * [cups.postrm]: purge /etc/cups/ssl/server.[crt|key] and /etc/cups/ssl.

  [ Martin Pitt ]
  * debian/compat: Bump from 5 to 9, this apparently was forgotten in the
Multi-Arch transition.

[Bug 670742] Re: sticky notes not hiding on startup

2011-12-02 Thread goldencut
Hello,

What's the point of just closing bugs without assigning them to someone or
fixing them? Bugs and problems go away as users go away from Ubuntu?
The bug is still there in Ubuntu 10.10 (Sticky Notes 2.30.0). And because of
Unity that will be the last usable Ubuntu for many for a long time and they
won't upgrade. So please fix it, there is even a patch floating around in
Ubuntu forums. Just merge it.
Bug description: Sticky Notes applet/application in Ubuntu 10.10. When notes
are created and then set to be hidden, after reboot they are visible again i.e
the hidden setting/flag is not respected.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if
you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.
There is also a vibrant support community available at

[Bug 868400] Re: Synaptics touchpad stops working

2011-12-02 Thread sven
lightdm starts a syndameon instance which is not terminated upon session
startup.

So there is the conflict: two syndaemon instances, one from lightdm and one
from logged in user.
Just experienced this problem after going from gdm back to lightdm.

This does not happen with gdm.

lightdm syndaemon instance must be terminated before starting session
(and user's syndaemon instance)

Regards

[Bug 899177] [NEW] File roller cannot read Spanish special characters in compressed file name, does no open them

2011-12-02 Thread benditoelqueviene
Public bug reported:

My system works in Spanish as default language. When I try to open a
compressed file with a Spanish special character in its name, File Roller
cannot read the character. If I double click the file, it presents the
following message: Ha ocurrido un error mientras se extraían los archivos
(An error had occurred when trying to extract the files and inside the case:
caution: filename not matched: and the file name. If I try to rename the
file, the commands are in gray, cannot be used. Only Open, Open with... and
Extract are available. If I use them, the same error message will be shown.
It fails with á é í ó ú ü and ñ (and their capital versions). They are
essential in Spanish! If they cannot be seen in this message, a list is
available in http://webdesign.about.com/od/localization/l/blhtmlcodes-sp.htm.

[Bug 899177] Re: File roller cannot read Spanish special characters in compressed file name, does no open them

2011-12-02 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thanks for the report, I also have my system on Spanish and the only
time i've seen that is when i uncompress a file with 'special characters
(spanish, hebrew, etc)' into an fat/ntfs filesystem, where are you
uncompressing those?

[Bug 897334] Re: Eog crash with Oneiric 64bit

2011-12-02 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the
crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with
'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is
the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed
to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug
/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
