[Bug 742544] Re: Launcher is shown on the wrong screen in some multi-monitor setups
HI Daniel, the grep command does not give me any output. I did however install all the upgraded files from the ppa with synaptic. I dragged the black bar in Display settings to the right external monitor but without effect. Even after restart. Did I miss something perhaps? [Bug 742544] Re: Launcher is shown on the wrong screen in some multi-monitor setups
Ok I see what's happening now. The dpkg command tells me the fix is installed, but it seems to be only for Unity3D, not for Unity2D. And I'm using Unity2D since Unity3D is heavily slowed down with ATI cards using the fglrx driver. Moving windows is chunky. I logged back in with Unity3D and the launcher is now on the correct screen. Unfortunately I have to use 2D because the graphics are too slow in Unity3D with my card. [Bug 914348] Re: Touchpad LED on Dell's laptop is not working
Hi, I'm trying to build a patch for this issue, but I encountered some problems. 1. The permission of the file in sysfs is 0644, so gsd(gnome-settings-daemon) should have root privilege to access the file. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Jan 13 17:04 /sys/class/leds/dell-laptop::touchpad/brightness But the gsd run as a normal user privilege, so it don't have the permission to control the touchpad LED. I'm wondering how user space application deals with this kind of issue. 2. After system recovered from S3, the touchpad LED won't turn on again. Is there any way that gsd can know the system recovered from S3 and reset the LED status? [Bug 915973] [NEW] Implement case-insensitive instant search by process name
Public bug reported: I would consider the issue as a cosmetic bug. Steps: 0. Run Tasque application 1. Open gnome-system-monitor 2. Switch to Processes tab 3. Do an instant search via typing letter keys: tasq... What is expected: It should be able to find Tasque as well as any other process with capital letter(s) in the name. What is faced: Cannot find the Tasque process as its name starts from the capital T and the search is case-sensitive. The reason why it makes sense to fix: The user does not have to know the proper case of process name. On the other hand, the processes list sorting by name is case-insensitive - and it's well. Thanks! [Bug 915993] [NEW] 'IP Information' is shown too short to see
Public bug reported: On the 'Devices' tab, there is a section called IP Information. This consists of a field with headings Protocol, IP Address, Netmask / Prefix, Broadcast, Scope. I believe the table that they are shown in should be scaled to the size of the window, and therefore the Devices tab. However, I am finding that that table is very short. Too short to use, in fact. The size of the headings is OK, but the text under the headings has a narrow slit, the height of which is about two thirds of the vertical size of the text. I will try to attach a screen shot. 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System - About Ubuntu 11.10 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or by checking in Software Center Network Tools 3.0.0 3) What you expected to happen To be able to read and use (scroll through etc) the IP Information text 4) What happened instead Not able to read or use it ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: gnome-nettool 3.0.0-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-14.23-generic 3.0.9 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-14-generic i686 ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Jan 13 21:38:40 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/gnome-nettool InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - Release i386 (20101007) SourcePackage: gnome-nettool UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to oneiric on 2011-11-13 (61 days ago) ** Affects: gnome-nettool (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug apport-lpi i386 oneiric running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-nettool in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/915993 Title: 'IP Information' is shown too short to see To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-nettool/+bug/915993/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 898087] Re: Move window to workspace 1 shortcut doesn't work
Bug exists for me since migration to 11.10; was able to assign key bindings (viz., Ctrl + Alt + 1 to move to workspace 1) fine in 10.04. Tried changing bindings through System Settings, none entered are recognized. N.B., was able instead to use Compiz Manager and enable Put to adjacent viewport to move windows to, well, the adjacent workspaces. If I should post more info about this (or help in any other way), I'd be happy to.
