[Bug 903422] Re: Mount / Provide access to Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich, ICS) MTP devices
I'm on Ubuntu 11.10, using a Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Android 4/ICS. What I observe is that connecting the GN in ptp mode behaves almost exactly as it if it was connect as a USB mass storage device, i.e., automount, icon (camera) appearing in the Launcher Nautilus, possibility to create/move/delete any kind of files/folders, etc. Even with Banshee (and Rhythmbox I presume), if you put an .is_audio_player at the root, the GN will me recognized as a Media/Audio player! Anyway, I guess that if the mtp connection was providing the same kind of access as ptp (by default, GN is set to connect as mtp device), it would be easier for novice users to have their GN phone works with Ubuntu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/903422 Title: Mount / Provide access to Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich, ICS) MTP devices To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/903422/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 44082] Re: GNOME Panel icons (on right side) move apparently randomly on session start in some situations
While it's great that locking down the panel solves this annoying bug, i like to change my panel configuration from time to time and as i am lazy i like to do that from the panel itself. As i didn't found any panel applet for this job i wrote this little shell script, which i trigger through a regular panel launcher. If you like to do that as well: - download the script somewhere (at best in your home directory, as it's by default a hidden file) - make sure it got execute permissions - create a launcher in the panel and enter the location of the script as command (like /home/USER/.gnome2_panel_lock_down) - install the libnotify-bin package OR disable notifications in the script with your favorite editor (like NOTIFY=off) Have fun. To me this solution is rather nice, also because the amount of people still caring about the old panel is quite shrinking and i don't think this will ever get fixed. ** Attachment added: .gnome2_panel_lock_down https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/44082/+attachment/2674435/+files/.gnome2_panel_lock_down -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/44082 Title: GNOME Panel icons (on right side) move apparently randomly on session start in some situations To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-panel/+bug/44082/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 879473] Re: Document viewer does not support OpenType features
Hi Adrian. I attached the pdf but mind it's Serbian so, it's written in Cyrillic script. However even if you're an ignoramus of Slavic / Cyrillic stuff, you can casually select portions of text and notice random blank spaces, and when you paste this selection to an external text editor, you'll see either random black spaces or weird characters. About the glyph mapping, I concur with your explanation as far as the main text is concerned, but why do glyphs don't change at all (according to the substitution table) in the right panel? This has nothing to do with mapping, it's just that those glyphs are ignored by the program. Greetings ** Attachment added: Историја Византиског Царства.pdf https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/879473/+attachment/2674770/+files/%D0%98%D1%81%D1%82%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%98%D0%B0%20%D0%92%D0%B8%D0%B7%D0%B0%D0%BD%D1%82%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%B3%20%D0%A6%D0%B0%D1%80%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B2%D0%B0.pdf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879473 Title: Document viewer does not support OpenType features To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/879473/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 916595] [NEW] Screen brightness increases by itself
Public bug reported: If I decrease the screen brightness using the Fn-F5 key to the lowest level, after a few seconds of inactivity (without touching the keyboard nor the touchpad) the screen brightness goes up automatically to a medium level. Then, as soon as I move the pointer, the brightness is increased to the maximum level. From this point on, the screen brighness alternates automatically between medium/maximum level. That is, it decreases when idle, and increases when using the keyboard or mouse. The expected behaviour is that brightness does not change by itself once set using the Fn keys. This bug happens when on battery power. I didn't try on AC power. [Bug 916637] [NEW] Arrow/Spacebar movement is disabled when entering fullscreen by keyboard shortcut
Public bug reported: Reproducable for me on Lubuntu 11.10: 1) open any PDF 2) see that clicking view - fullscreen allows arrow keys and spacebar to move pages 3) exit fullscreen, then re-enter it by pressing F11 4) see that arrow key/spacebar functionality no longer works (though pgup/pgdown button functionality does) 5) see that pressing F11 to exit fullscreen returns the above functionality, but clicking exit fullscreen keeps those keys broken even outside of fullscreen mode. 6) When out of fullscreen with those keys disabled, see that opening then closing any menu bar dropdown (e.g. view or file), returns functionality (using the mouse or keyboard to open the menu dropdown doesn't matter). 7) When in fullscreen with those keys disabled, see that opening then closing the zoom dropdown menu with the mouse returns functionality (though clicking on the pageup/pagedown icons and the page number input field does not fix anything) 8) Also see that only when key functionality is disabled does the page number input field in the toolbar not have a blinking cursor when you click on it (even though it takes still input from the keyboard after clicking). Re: [Bug 879970] Re: gnome-control-center is required for the preferences dialog
wow! I had not realised that you guys never really fixed the bug, you just made it a _requirement_ to have gnome-control-center.. doesnt seem harmful.. just don't want hundreds of packages just to transfer pics wirelessly from my phone. oh-well I have chosen to use blueman since it just works without the extra needed packages.
