[Bug 919871] Re: Empathy Keeps Crashing

2012-01-22 Thread Phil. V
Sure, no problem. It's likely that this isn't a problem with the Ubuntu
packaging of empathy, and will need to be addressed by the folks over at
GNOME. Could you possibly report this to the empathy developers at their
bug tracker? The URL is here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/

After you do that please post the link to your bug here so I can link
the bugs on launchpad. Also, they're likely to ask for a stack trace
since this is a program crash. Instructions for obtaining that can be
found here: http://live.gnome.org/Empathy/Debugging

[Bug 192508] Re: mouse keys to easy to accidently turn on

2012-01-22 Thread Timothy Arceri
** Summary changed:

- mouse keys turns on randomly
+ mouse keys to easy to accidently turn on

** Description changed:

I am using Hardy Heron and several times now I have tried to use my
number pad only to discover that they now move the mouse. I don't know
if there is a short cut key I am hitting on accident, but it is rather
annoying. Then sometimes when I disable mouse keys, the numlock becomes
switched so that the system thinks numlock is on when the light is off
  and vice-versa.
+
+ Update: the shortcut is: shift+num-lock

2012-01-22 Thread Apport retracing service
Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still
encounter the crash, please file a new report.

[Bug 919951] [NEW] long topic takes up too much space

2012-01-22 Thread Андрей Лисин

[Bug 919965] [NEW] Adding annotation: No input possible until some focus change

2012-01-22 Thread Gerd Bavendiek
Public bug reported:

Adding a new annotion in evince (Oneiric) no input is possible until one
switches focus from the input window to the document window and back
again.

Initially the cursor of the annotation input box is blinking, but no
input is possible.

This happens in Oneiric using either xfec4 or Unity with every pdf I
tried. Other users made the very same experience.

This is really annoying ...

Re: [Bug 893420] Re: PST import no longer available after update to Oneiric

2012-01-22 Thread Ross Gayler
Hi Martin,

That seems to work.

PST is now visible as an import format.

I have imported 3 PST files of ~2GB each and it looks like it worked.
Emails, contacts, and calendars appear to have been imported
correctly. I didn't have any tasks or notes in those PSTs. I wouldn't
call that an exhaustive test - but I presume the fix didn't involve
any (intentional) changes to the pstlib functionality, only whether it
was included in the build.

Thanks

Ross

[Bug 920014] [NEW] gedit line select doesn't consider automatic word wrapping

2012-01-22 Thread Andreas E.
Public bug reported:

When automatic word wrapping is enabled and you select a line (triple-click or
press Pos1+shift+End), gedit selects only one displayed line segment and not
the complete line until the end-of-line marker.
It leaves the wrapped segments of the line unselected and unaffected by
whatever action you do with the selection. You easily end up with not-working

[Bug 919871] Re: Empathy Keeps Crashing

2012-01-22 Thread Muhammad bilal shahid
no update from empathy..
are you getting this crash during adding account first time...
i guess you have having the same crash as the other people have,,as in this bug

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/908348

can you just follow these steps to see that the crash is occuring or not,,
see remove your all accounts even the people nearby account..
also remove the id and password of your accounts from keys and password
and restart than add the accounts again,,
see do the crash occur..and one thing 'you have to remove the id and password
from keys and password'
than this crash must happen.
do so and reply me.
thanks

[Bug 913785] Re: bluetooth-applet doesn't start automatically on Precise

2012-01-22 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
Rick,

Can you confirm the version of bluez you have installed? We were under
the belief that this was all taken care of now by bluez 4.98-0ubuntu4,
but if not maybe it will be time to think about simplifying the
bluetooth upstart jobs to just start no matter what.

However, bluetooth-applet should have been started anyway by the
session, regardless of the state of bluetoothd, even if it wouldn't show
if there is both no device detected and no bluetoothd daemon running.
What I mean by that is even on one of my systems fully up to date with
no bluetooth adapter, bluetooth-applet is always running. It should be
the case on your system as well.

This has been originally reported by danucc in the Ubuntu bug tracker:

The content of the file linked at the Ubuntu bug report[1] are not
shown, only header and footer are.

The file can be displayed with xpdf and acroread but fails to show with
evince and epdfview using poppler 0.18 in Ubuntu 11.10, 12.04 and Fedora
16.

On the command line, the message Error: Invalid Font Weight is
printed, hence it may well be a bad PDF file -- though xpdf and
acroread seem to handle the situation more gracefully.

[Bug 919416] Re: The nautilus menu is not being returned to nautilus window when browsing nautilus as root

2012-01-22 Thread Graham Lucking
What is the point of using sudo nautilus if it cannot be set to show
hidden files because the menu is not available. Normal nautilus is now
able to do something that nautilus as root cannot do.

[Bug 919871] Re: Empathy Keeps Crashing

I did try removing all the accounts and it seemed to work fine after
that. I was thinking it was related to the Application Specific password
feature being enabled on my Google account but it doesn't use an
application password in the Online Accounts menu in System Settings.

Re: [Bug 919605] Re: remote desktop connection does keyboard character problems

2012-01-22 Thread Django
I ran an update but the problem persists.
My keyboard is Swedish and the language is English in Ubuntu 64bit 11.10
connecting to Windows7 Professional.

When I press (ignore the double quotes below)
+ produces `
? produces _
ö produces öo
- produces +
_ produces ?

I hope this helps in fixing this bug. Since, this works for you, kindly let
me know if there is any setting that I need to tweak on Ubuntu or the
Windows machine.

Cheers

Oddly enough, I had this bug 2 days ago but after having updated my

My case is an Ubuntu system with Dvorak, international variant, no dead

Could you please try with all updates applied, if you still have this bug?

[Bug 919157] Re: The Evolution calendar opens with the wrong date

2012-01-22 Thread Tristan Schmelcher
Same here. This is a regression from Natty. The problem occurs whenever
double-clicking a date in the calendar applet. Evolution opens showing
the current day's appointments but the calendar in the bottom-left of
the Evolution window shows 1 January 1970.

If Evolution is opened manually, the calendar correctly shows the
current date. If I then double-click a date in the calendar applet,
Evolution switches to 1 January 1970.

[Bug 920262] [NEW] nautilus file properties does not show file location properly

2012-01-22 Thread julius von kohout
Public bug reported:

oneiric up to date.

open file properties of a file.
full file path is not shown
/home/julius/Deskto...
i expect the full filepath to be shown like in gnome 2.3.
nautilus does not show full file location if the path isnt ultra short.

the bug is fixed upstream but not in oneiric.

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=657733
This has been fixed in 3.3 with the migration from GtkTable to GtkGrid for the
properties dialog.

i dont know wheter gtk 3.4 or just a new nautilus version is needed. but
at least its rly an important feauture to know where your files are.

[Bug 273490] Re: Totem-plugin-viewer shows visual effects even disabled.

2012-01-22 Thread phil
I agree. This is not fixed. In 11.10, I still see the visualization in
Firefox even when it is disabled in totem. Re-sizing the window to be small
does not matter either.
It is wasting almost 50% of my CPU!
