[Bug 885324]
Fair enough, but without supporting both versions for a bit we will _never_ be able to migrate and will end up using a deprecated unsupported library forever. To answer your question as far as Ubuntu goes, 11.10, 11.04, 10.10, and 10.04 rely on ia32-libs, so in order to support them I'll have to update the ia32-libs in the PPA to include liblcms2 (this isn't hard). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gimp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885324 Title: Completely replace lcms1 by lcms2 in Ubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/enblend/+bug/885324/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

On Ubuntu, we'd like to migrate everything away from liblcms1 by 12.04, which means this would need to be done in the 1.4 timetable. At a distro level, supporting 32-on-64 lcms2 is just as easy as lcms1. On Ubuntu 12.04, for instance, it's already multiarched and you can just apt-get install liblcms2-2:i386. [Bug 885324]
(In reply to comment #10) It seems this is no longer a mere enhancement request and needs some escalation in priority - liblcms1 is deprecated upstream, not receiving fixes, and is being slated for removal from distributions. See, for instance, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lcms/+bug/885324 When will liblcms1 be removed from which distributions? How about 32-bit versions of liblcms2 for current 64-bit distros? I can confirm the same problem with a 3GS running iOS 5. Device mounts properly and displays in Nautilus and Rhythmbox. [Bug 920382] [NEW] empathy shows incorrect names multiple times in indicator applet
Public bug reported: Since latest updates on precise empathy's indicator applet is broken. Firstly responses TO me are posted to come FROM me. So it shows my own name responding to myself instead of the person I am chatting to. And then it posts the same persons name over and over each time they type anything and press enter. The 3rd issue is that when you click on the name in the applet it does not clear it. you have to click the clear button. but that only works till the next time someone posts anything. So chatting on an IRC channel has you ending up with about 20 lines in the applet all showing MY name. [Bug 220654] Re: file-roller will not open 256 AES zip files
I would say that any normal user would just /assume/ that these files were not support and revert to Windows for this task... I found this bug after doing just that in Oneiric. I don't think it's reasonable to close it just becuase you can install a different backend and have it work... it may not be a bug in file-roller (other than that it does not advise the user of options), but perhaps in the distribution planning etc. Clearly closing this bug without addressing it has lead to the problem being present for 2 full cycles of LTS, and AES zip files are now much more common.
