[Bug 928338] Re: Userpics are stretched in conversation view
It’s quite diffucult to reproduce, if you don’t have anyone with non-square userpics in contact list. To reproduce, just chat with someone who has rectangular userpic. On you screenshot, the userpic is actually square (even if it doesn’t look so). Notice the round corners on your and my screenshots, and you’ll see that on you screenshot userpic just has white margins. I don’t know if empathy automaticaly resizes your userpic when you choose it, but contact I was chatting with, uses pidgin for windows. Maybe pidgin saves the aspect ratio of userpics and empathy stretches them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/928338 Title: Userpics are stretched in conversation view To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/928338/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

You have been subscribed to a public bug: Problem occurs with: light-themes, Ubuntu Ocelot Does not occur with: light-themes 0.1.8.13, Ubuntu 11.04 Outside of a menu bar, some menus open completely downward, with all items below the menu button. For example, the Back and Forward menus in Epiphany. This is indicated by a downward arrow at the end of the menubutton. Other menus -- in GTK, the ComboBox and OptionMenu widgets -- open both upward and downward, with the current selected item over top of the menu button. For example, the Icon/List/Compact menu in Nautilus, or the font menu in Character Map. This is indicated by a pair of upward and downward arrows. [Bug 206547] Re: Open (but do not raise) new conversation windows automatically
There is a regression which re-introduces this bug when running Gnome- Shell. I am running 3.2.2.1 from the Oneiric PPA (3.2.2.1-0ubuntu1~oneiric1). I've tried every combination of options listed in this bug report, including the most common suggestion here and elsewhere to check Open chats in separate windows and uncheck Idsplay incoming events in the notification area. All new incoming chats appear ONLY in the notification area. If you're not either constantly checking your notification area, or not looking at the screen for the 3 or 4 seconds the new notification appears, there's no way to know someone has sent you a new message, and no combination of settings seems to affect this. ** Also affects: gnome-shell Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/206547 Title: Open (but do not raise) new conversation windows automatically To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/empathy/+bug/206547/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 936958] Re: Nautilus is now placing desktop icons far away from the launcher
Yes, that could be a workaround until we find out why reveived screen window margins sometimes have incorrect values. However, imo a final solution shall trust those margins and that those are the root cause of the problem. Margins here shall be controlled by Unity but I suspect that there are other players around too such as compiz that set/change those margins, mainly thinking of the left margin for the launcher. Then it's a question of how it should work. Just noticed, using launcher never hide mode, that desktop icons today really moves when changing the launcher width. Also checked in oneiric that acted the same way and there without any flickering, which thus has been introduced in precise. However, for launcher autohide mode the the desktop icons don't move, i.e appear static! An intentional behaviour? Another strange behaviour I noticed is that the leftmost desktop icons are moved below the launcher for the case setting the launcher width to 49! But the question remains, how shall it work? Is there any design decision made here? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/936958 Title: Nautilus is now placing desktop icons far away from the launcher To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/936958/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 940399] [NEW] Selected area vanishes on change of tool choice
Public bug reported: Rectangle or Ellipse select tool in replace the current selection mode. Outline of selected image area consistently vanishes upon choosing another tool, e.g., Bucket fill, Pencil, Paintbrush, etc. Area, absent outline, proves to remain selected as revealed by paintbrush strokes. Outline is revealed by use of transform tools, e.g., Rotate, Shear Perspective, etc. Transformations will preview, but cancel on attempt to commit. Area does not function as selected using bucket fill whole selection, nor does bucket fill whole selection work upon select all from image menu. Update to kernel or libraries within past week highly suspect. Erased and reinstalled entire system, before any further configuration, tested gimp as described above, performed normally. Then ran Update Manager, tested again, encountered problem. [Bug 936958] Re: Nautilus is now placing desktop icons far away from the launcher
the nautilus patch is not needed anymore now that we don't have intellihide. Either, we have always locked launcher and so the STRUT is put on the desktop and nautilus will automatically move the icon view, either we have autohide, where the launcher is hidden by default and so we can have icon on the far left. [Bug 936958] Re: Nautilus is now placing desktop icons far away from the launcher
launcher is hidden by default and so we can have icon on the far left. Well, that would be great, but implies another launcher behavior when you drag an icon, right? As is today the hidden launcher always pops up when you drag an icon on the desktop which prevents you from using that leftmost part. So that means you instead have to trigger the launcher the usual way to throw an icon in the trash bin.
