[Bug 928338] Re: Userpics are stretched in conversation view

2012-02-24 Thread Aleksandr Chepurnoy
It’s quite diffucult to reproduce, if you don’t have anyone with non-square
userpics in contact list.
To reproduce, just chat with someone who has rectangular userpic.

On you screenshot, the userpic is actually square (even if it doesn’t
look so). Notice the round corners on your and my screenshots, and
you’ll see that on you screenshot userpic just has white margins.

I don’t know if empathy automaticaly resizes your userpic when you choose it,
but contact I was chatting with, uses pidgin for windows.
Maybe pidgin saves the aspect ratio of userpics and empathy stretches them.

[Bug 829425] [NEW] Radio menu (ComboBox, OptionMenu) arrows point only downward, not upward

2012-02-24 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Problem occurs with: light-themes, Ubuntu Ocelot
Does not occur with: light-themes 0.1.8.13, Ubuntu 11.04

Outside of a menu bar, some menus open completely downward, with all
items below the menu button. For example, the Back and Forward menus in
Epiphany. This is indicated by a downward arrow at the end of the
menubutton.

Other menus -- in GTK, the ComboBox and OptionMenu widgets -- open both
upward and downward, with the current selected item over top of the menu
button. For example, the Icon/List/Compact menu in Nautilus, or the font
menu in Character Map. This is indicated by a pair of upward and
downward arrows.

Unfortunately, in Oneiric, both types have only a downward arrow.
Apparently this is a bug in GTK3.

[Bug 940206] [NEW] Clock's additional timezone for Australia/Perth in Oneiric is wrong

2012-02-24 Thread peaolo81
Public bug reported:

(I hope this is the right place to post this bug, but maybe should be assigned
to indicator-datetime-service)
I tried to add to my system clock (my real timezone is Italy, GMT+1) an
additional timezone tuned on Australia/Perth (I think = GMT+8, am I wrong?).
This additional entry is shown wrong, 'cause Perth's time it's displayed equal
to UTC. Moreover when I re-set my system timezone to Perth, then it's displayed
correctly

Additional info.
ubuntu version: Oneiric Ocelot (11.10)
gnome-panel version: 1:3.2.0-0ubuntu1

I also tried to follow FindRightPackage and DebuggingGNOMEApplets
tutorials, but I couldn't obtain any remarkable result even with gdb

Hi there,

Are you still experiencing this ? Unsure why you would have ten listings
for your soundcard. Any chance you could provide me with a screenshot of
this and the output of the 'pactl list cards' from command line. Thanks

Conor

The space in orange is prime real estate for the Now playing x
information really, leaving the progress bar where it is, though
slightly up, which in turn means fitting more library information on the
screen when maximised.

[Bug 206547] Re: Open (but do not raise) new conversation windows automatically

2012-02-24 Thread MightyE
There is a regression which re-introduces this bug when running Gnome-
Shell. I am running 3.2.2.1 from the Oneiric PPA
(3.2.2.1-0ubuntu1~oneiric1).

I've tried every combination of options listed in this bug report,
including the most common suggestion here and elsewhere to check Open
chats in separate windows and uncheck Idsplay incoming events in the
notification area.

All new incoming chats appear ONLY in the notification area. If you're
not either constantly checking your notification area, or not looking at
the screen for the 3 or 4 seconds the new notification appears, there's
no way to know someone has sent you a new message, and no combination of
settings seems to affect this.

[Bug 940342] [NEW] Processing becomes wedged during image rescale.

2012-02-24 Thread Telegram Sam
Public bug reported:

As small a task as scaling new image from 64x64 to 256x256, progress bar
goes to 50-75% and stops. Independent of interpolation setting. Have
not been patient enough to establish whether process ever completes.

Update to kernel or libraries within past week highly suspect. Erased
and reinstalled entire system, before any further configuration, tested
gimp as described above, performed normally. Then ran Update Manager,
tested again, encountered problem.

Simultaneously arriving bugs reported separately as:
* Segmentation fault on closing layers/channels/path/undo dock
* Selection area vanishes on change of tool choice

[Bug 940355] [NEW] Log out results in a full black screen

2012-02-24 Thread Joris Donders
Public bug reported:

Kubuntu 12.04 :

when the power button is pressed, and the log out option is selected it
results in a black screen with no dialog possible.

When moving the cursor arround one can detect it changes somewhere in
the middle of the screen, but nothing can be selected nor when the
password is given to log back in, it just remains fully black and
nothing happens.

A full reboot is then the only option to have a working desktop.

I have made only one user and selected the automatic login at startup.

With working with pausestand (closing the lid of the laptop) and let it
awake, I can select for another user witch prompts me with a login
screen.

Tested with 3 laptops of various trademarks and all having the same
issue.

[Bug 936958] Re: Nautilus is now placing desktop icons far away from the launcher

2012-02-24 Thread Bowmore
Yes, that could be a workaround until we find out why reveived screen
window margins sometimes have incorrect values. However, imo a final
solution shall trust those margins and that those are the root cause of
the problem.

Margins here shall be controlled by Unity but I suspect that there are
other players around too such as compiz that set/change those margins,
mainly thinking of the left margin for the launcher.

Then it's a question of how it should work. Just noticed, using launcher
never hide mode, that desktop icons today really moves when changing the
launcher width. Also checked in oneiric that acted the same way and
there without any flickering, which thus has been introduced in precise.
However, for launcher autohide mode the the desktop icons don't move,
i.e appear static! An intentional behaviour? Another strange behaviour I
noticed is that the leftmost desktop icons are moved below the launcher
for the case setting the launcher width to 49!

But the question remains, how shall it work? Is there any design
decision made here?

[Bug 940359] [NEW] Segmentation fault on closing layers/channels/path/undo dock.

2012-02-24 Thread Telegram Sam
Public bug reported:

Ordinarily, the layers/channels/path/undo dock may be closed without
affecting work. Lately, doing so invariably results in abrupt crash of
application. Invoking gimp from terminal emulator, program crash is
reported thusly:

(script-fu:3698): LibGimpBase-WARNING **: script-fu: gimp_wire_read(): error
Segmentation fault

Update to kernel or libraries within past week highly suspect. Erased
and reinstalled entire system, before any further configuration, tested
gimp as described above, performed normally. Then ran Update Manager,
tested again, encountered problem.

Simultaneously arriving bugs reported separately as:
* Processing becomes wedged during image rescale.
* Selected area vanishes on change of tool choice

[Bug 940399] [NEW] Selected area vanishes on change of tool choice

2012-02-24 Thread Telegram Sam
Public bug reported:

Rectangle or Ellipse select tool in replace the current selection
mode. Outline of selected image area consistently vanishes upon
choosing another tool, e.g., Bucket fill, Pencil, Paintbrush, etc.
Area, absent outline, proves to remain selected as revealed by
paintbrush strokes. Outline is revealed by use of transform tools,
e.g., Rotate, Shear Perspective, etc. Transformations will preview, but
cancel on attempt to commit. Area does not function as selected using
bucket fill whole selection, nor does bucket fill whole selection work
upon select all from image menu.

Update to kernel or libraries within past week highly suspect. Erased
and reinstalled entire system, before any further configuration, tested
gimp as described above, performed normally. Then ran Update Manager,
tested again, encountered problem.

Simultaneously arriving bugs reported separately as:

* Segmentation fault on closing layers/channels/path/undo dock

[Bug 936958] Re: Nautilus is now placing desktop icons far away from the launcher

2012-02-24 Thread Didier Roche
the nautilus patch is not needed anymore now that we don't have
intellihide.

Either, we have always locked launcher and so the STRUT is put on the
desktop and nautilus will automatically move the icon view, either we
have autohide, where the launcher is hidden by default and so we can
have icon on the far left.

I'll remove this piece of code after beta1.

[Bug 936958] Re: Nautilus is now placing desktop icons far away from the launcher

2012-02-24 Thread Bowmore
launcher is hidden by default and so we can have icon on the far left.

Well, that would be great, but implies another launcher behavior when
you drag an icon, right?

As is today the hidden launcher always pops up when you drag an icon on
the desktop which prevents you from using that leftmost part. So that
means you instead have to trigger the launcher the usual way to throw an
icon in the trash bin.

Thank youf or your bug report, that error suggests it's already running,
could you add your .xsession-errors to the bug?

[Bug 940443] Re: gnome-settings-daemon can't start in Precise

2012-02-24 Thread George Karavasilev
Ok, I spoke too soon with that bug. It could not be about GS-D after all, but
it's still related to some basic Gnome-component, cuz it affects all the Gnome
sessions out there (yeah, I even tried building a custom one and it is still
borked).
P.S. I've attached the ~/.xsession-errors file :)
