[Bug 960518] [NEW] Can't unlock with second keyboard layout
Public bug reported: Steps for me to reproduce: 0) Start with user with English layout, and English password 1) Go to System Settings - Keyboard Layout 2) Add an Afghani layout (not specific to Afghani, it's just at the top) 3) Move the Afghani layout to be above the English one 4) Lock your screen 5)Try to log back in, but fail regardless of whether you toggle layout button on right of entry You can work around it by clicking the Switch User button and logging in through unity-greeter (though it has a display bug in it's prompt when the language is RTL, which is a separate bug I'll file). [Bug 945097] Re: Lack of global menu and right-click menu with Nautilus
Quick update. So there is no ./config/menus directory. I did try deleting the ./config directory which is some other advice I found. I also tried setting various environment variables. I did get the nautilus global menu working once more. Still no right- click menu on the file icons, but right-clicking on the space inbetween gave a small menu. Clicking on preferences in the Edit global menu caused nautilus to close and I haven't had menus since. I can't find how to get them back again. This just happened to me in 12.04 Precise. I accidently click on move to trash in Rhythmbox so I right clicked on the trash can on the Unity sidebar and it gave me this exact error. On a side note I never emptied the trash but when I went into Nautilus immediatly after I right clicked on the file and then clicked on restore it said the file did not exist. [Bug 960630] [NEW] Cannot burn Ubuntu Installation CD
Public bug reported: System Information - * Ubuntu 11.10 machine (32-bit) * Brasero 3.2.0-0ubuntu1.1 Description -- I wanted to create an Ubuntu installation CD. I downloaded the Ubuntu 11.10 ISO file but Brasero could not burn it to a blank CD because it thinks the file is too big (download size is 695 MB, my file manager Nautilus 3.2.1 reports it as 729.1 MB). K3b is able to burn the disc so I know it is a Brasero issue. Steps to Recreate Issue -- * Download the Ubuntu 11.10 ISO from http://www.ubuntu.com/start-download?distro=desktopbits=32release=latest - The download manager in Firefox says the download is 695 MB - The downloaded file shows as 729.1 MB in Nautilus * Insert a blank 700 MB CD into the CD-write drive * Right click on the downloaded file and select Write to Disc... * A Brasero window pops up and says that the file is too big to write on the disc even with overburn * Close the Brasero window and attempt to write the file using K3b. K3b reports the file as 695 MB and writes it to the CD. Problem: Brasero is the default disc-writing software that comes with Ubuntu and one would expect it to be able to create an Ubuntu installation disc without issues. ** Affects: brasero (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to brasero in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/960630 Title: Cannot burn Ubuntu Installation CD To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/960630/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I've never had automatic login enabled. so #24 isn't solving it for me. the entire contents of my lightdm.conf is: [SeatDefaults] greeter-session=unity-greeter user-session=ubuntu I get logged out pretty much every time I request a shutdown/restart. [Bug 427629] Re: When i remove the AC power cable from my laptop, the computer goes to sleep.
I have a similar problem when I remove power on the DC side of the charger. Ubuntu detects a low battery then shutsdown. Cancel is to no avail. If I remove the power on the AC side (wall plug) its fine. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A200. [Bug 960769] [NEW] screen output fails periodically when window is small
Public bug reported: running ubuntu precise $ apt-cache policy libvte9 libvte9: Installed: 1:0.28.2-3ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:0.28.2-3ubuntu1 I expect each command I type to output in libvte (. however, the output seems to pause, although it resumes immediately the next time I type something. so even typing a sentence, some keypresses are not reflected to the screen. also, the output of some commands is hidden. (until the next output) this problem only occurs when the terminal window is small. when I have the terminal window maximized, it never occurs. So it's like the post office holding some of my mail, until the next time i get a letter. Like they can't bother delivering every letter, only 95% of them, but they deliver all off them if I get mail delivered at regular intervals. ** Affects: vte (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to vte in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/960769 Title: screen output fails periodically when window is small To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vte/+bug/960769/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
