[Bug 712103] Re: unlocking dialog doesn't show
I experience this in precise, but only when running a unity session, and also not really reliably on two (sandy-bridge) systems. One system is a desktop PC running a radeon 6670 graphics card. There, I experienced this each time when resuming after suspending the machine reliably. Switching from unity to gnome3 seems to help. The other system is a laptop that was recently upgraded to precise. I have added a session item that locks the screen when logging in (because the system is configured to auto-login). [Bug 527157] Re: Brightness controls skips Levels.
This patch is for GNOME 3.2 that permanently disables gnome-settings- deamon's ability to step-up and step-down the backlight. For those who still can't get the correct brightness steps, this is a workaround. It works perfectly on my Lenovo Thinkpad x220. [Bug 958776] Re: Windows on new laptop
Thank you for using Ubuntu and taking the time to report a bug. Your report should contain, at a minimum, the following information so we can better find the source of the bug and work to resolve it. Submitting the bug about the proper source package is essential. For help see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . Additionally, in the report please include: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'cat /etc/lsb-release' or System - About Ubuntu. 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'dpkg -l PKGNAME | cat' or by checking in Synaptic. 3) What happened and what you expected to happen. The Ubuntu community has also created debugging procedures for a wide variety of packages at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures . Following the debugging instructions for the affected package will make your bug report much more complete. [Bug 962166] Re: seahorse crashs with critical error while listing gpg keys
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find. ** Visibility changed to: Public ** This bug is no longer flagged as a security vulnerability ** Visibility changed to: Public ** This bug is no longer flagged as a security vulnerability -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to seahorse in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/962166 Title: seahorse crashs with critical error while listing gpg keys To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/seahorse/+bug/962166/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

** Description changed: The context menu option to open folders with something other than nautilus, while not necessary , is a useful option for many users. The question would be was that part of the commit needed to fix the handling of 'non-desktop' desktop files such as index.theme At least here, reverting the view part of the commit suggests it wasn't, an open with context menu option ability to fully view open a .theme file from nautilus seem to co-exist fine. [Bug 952314] Re: CMapCache::getCMap SEGV with 'Creusage_-_Tunnel_sous_la_Manche.pdf'
I ran into the same segfault with another document, and for both documents the crash goes away and the document gets shown properly after downgrading libpoppler19 to the unmodified 0.18.4-1 package from Debian experimental. When I recompile the poppler 0.18.4-1 package from Debian experimental on my up-to-date amd64 precise and install the libpoppler19 binary package built, xpdf does crash on both documents. [Bug 964733] [NEW] display forgets last resolution, unlocks in default SVGA
Public bug reported: I have marked this against 'gnome-control-center display' however the root cause may be elsewhere, so feel free to correct. Actions (happens every time): 1. Leave PC running but to save power switch off desplay (VGA-connected Samsung 1100MB at 1920x1440). 2. Do some thing else, like sleep. 3. Return to PC; switch monitor on. 4. Move mouse to wake up display. 5. login screen comes up in SVGA/800x600 (?), having 'forgotten' last resolution. 6. login and desktop comes up, also at SVGA resolution 7. from the on-screen top-right 'power button', select 'displays' 8. gnome-control-center appers with the 'display window' and immeditaely, automatically goes (back) to 1920x1440. 9. close gnome-control-center and continue to work. This has only happened with 12.04, I guess I should have reported it sooner - it is annoying. The only thing I have found similar in earlier distros (and with 12.04) is if I cold-start the PC before switching the monitor on. In those cases, I must power up the monitor first, before BIOS in order for it to boot straight to 1920x1440. Now, thinking that I might be tripping that cold-boot case, I made sure that I powered up the monitor before moving the mouse (or touching anything else) in steps 3,4 to 'wake up' the PC - but that made no difference. Graphics are via Intel Sandy Bridge built-in HD 3000.
