[Bug 878836] Re: Unity Greeter - Use Unity Greeter to fulfil lock screen as well as login functions
@johnlea, yes, we still want to aim for a proper solution in Q or later. Note that it's not really blocked by unity-greeter or lightdm; the issue is the video stack being able to a) reliably switch between VTs and b) do in a timely fashion. @pitti, yes, the keyboard issue is listed in the problems with the patch as it stands. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/878836 Title: Unity Greeter - Use Unity Greeter to fulfil lock screen as well as login functions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/878836/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 129219]
Here's the code that constructs and opens the folder path: https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/file/ae8de2241732/xpcom/io/nsLocalFileUnix.cpp#l1819 Note that it is not passed directly to Nautilus on the command line, but instead goes through gnome_vfs_url_show_with_env(). We can't just pass a filename to that function, because that will open the file itself in its app (rather than showing it in Nautilus). However we fix this, we should also make sure that it does not break badly on old versions of Nautilus. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/129219 Title: firefox download manager - Open containing folder with preselected file in nautilus/file manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/129219/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 924759] Re: Unity Greeter to support logging in on any display in a multi-monitor setup
With latest version (0.2.6-0ubuntu1) there are several shortcommings. Configuration is the following: - front monitor DELL 16:9 1680x1050 hard-coded to Primary in xorg.conf - left monitor is DELL 4:3 1280x1024 rotated counterclockwise (property set in xorg.conf) - Intel core i5 clarkdale integrated chipset, fully accelerated (compiz/unity/webgl etc... run flawlessly) Problems: - although intially my mouse cursor is centered on the primary monitor, the greeter defaults to the left one. moving the cursor fixes the problem (the login dialog jumps on the correct monitor) but: - even though my machine as decent specs (core i5 4 core, 4GB ram, graphic card described above) the switch of the login dialog is *very* slow and laggy. With the previous issue, the following happens: (1) cursor and login window are on different screen. so I move my mouse left to give focus to the correct screen (2) dialog starts to be redrawn (i guess) on the right screen but the process is very slow. (3) cursor arrives on the left screen. I start going to the keyboard to log in. (4) dialog jumps to the right screen, loosing focus, while mouse is still is on left screen. (5) step 1 to 4 are repeated until I can catch-up with the login screen (by moving fast enough or waiting long enough for the dialog to jump back and forth which it does not always do) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/924759 Title: Unity Greeter to support logging in on any display in a multi-monitor setup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/924759/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 837196] Re: Cannot change bluetooth name
Also, in that upstream bug the gnome dev seems to think a Bluetooth name must always be the same as the system's hostname. (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=658154, No, and we're not interested in supporting that.) Ignoring for a moment the condescending attitude that is infesting Gnome nowadays, I have a usecase that seems to require being able to change the bluetooth name (unless I overlooked something, feel free to correct me). I have two different Ubuntu installations on the same laptop, one for work, one for private use. They have different names. In earlier versions of Ubuntu I tried just connecting to both with different names via bluetooth, which didn't work. Changing the bluetooth names to be identical on both installations seemed to (mostly) work. There must be an option to change names for: hostname, SAMBA service, hell, even my ICQ and yes..bluetooth! Why should i ever use the same name on multiple services? I can.. yes. I must.. NOT! Is this patchable? Can ubuntu change the code to add a name changer in the bluetooth settings or is this too much of a hazzle with upstream? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-bluetooth in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/837196 Title: Cannot change bluetooth name To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-bluetooth/+bug/837196/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 966147] Re: no longer displays saved PDF form content
It is not a duplicate. This was working fine in Oneiric. The other bug talks about an issue in Oneiric. ** Description changed: Evince no longer displays the content of electronic form fields saved with PDF documents. The updated field content is correctly saved and appears when someone clicks on a field, but otherwise Evince displays the default content that was saved in the original document template. This prevents someone from printing documents with the correct form content. This is a regression from Oneiric. - ProblemType: Bug - DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 + TEST CASE: + + 1. Open a document named Monthly_VAT_declaration_2012-02-28.pdf as created by Evince 3.2 in Oneiric. + 2. The Date field in the Date and Place section of the document correctly displays 28.02.2012, but let's update it to 27.03.2012 for today's monthly declaration. + 3. Select Save copy from the File menu. Let's use Monthly_VAT_declaration_2012-03-27.pdf as the file name. + 4. Close all Evince windows. + 5. Open Monthly_VAT_declaration_2012-03-27.pdf into Evince. + 6. The Date field displays 28.02.2012, but clicking on it to edit it shows that 27.03.2012 was nonetheless correctly saved as data at step 3. + 7. Trying to print the content of Monthly_VAT_declaration_2012-03-27.pdf via the GTK print dialog however produces a file whose content matches the old one from Monthly_VAT_declaration_2012-02-28.pdf, as displayed. + + ProblemType: BugDistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: evince 3.3.92-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-20.32-generic-pae 3.2.12 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-20-generic-pae i686 ApportVersion: 1.95-0ubuntu1 Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Mar 27 14:19:54 2012 ProcEnviron: - LANGUAGE=fi:en - TERM=xterm - PATH=(custom, user) - LANG=fi_FI.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash - SourcePackage: evince + LANGUAGE=fi:en + TERM=xterm + PATH=(custom, user) + LANG=fi_FI.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bashSourcePackage: evince UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 923694 Document Viewer does not show text stored in text input fields in PDF -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/966147 Title: no longer displays saved PDF form content To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/966147/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 923694] Re: Document Viewer does not show text stored in text input fields in PDF
I was sent here from bug #966147 but it seems that this is a somewhat different issue, since this was working fine for me in Oneiric. It's only since Precise that it breaks for me. As for the fonts used by the PDF, I wouldn't know. However, I can confirm that the exact same PDF form displayed and printed fine until Oneiric and has been updated as-is, from one month to the next. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/923694 Title: Document Viewer does not show text stored in text input fields in PDF To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/evince/+bug/923694/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
