[Bug 879632] Re: 'quick open' and 'file browser panel' conflict
Luciano - IF I were you I'd ck. out 12.04 when it releases, overall vastly superior to 11.10 though as usual there were a few 'take aways' Otherwise maybe they will fix 11.10, there's no reason it shouldn't have worked, 'Gedit.py' is in 11.10's gedit source, it just isn't installed with the 11.10 package You could easily build 11.10's gedit source (or 3.2.6) install, it would then work. It's also likely you could build 11.10's gedit source just copy the Gedit.py files to the appropriate places. I use 12.04 but booted to a live 11.10 session did both of the above, (installed, copied), after a logout both ways worked, which is better ??, I likely do a build install ** Attachment added: Screenshot at 2012-03-29 05_40_00.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit-plugins/+bug/879632/+attachment/2958684/+files/Screenshot%20at%202012-03-29%2005_40_00.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gedit-plugins in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879632 Title: 'quick open' and 'file browser panel' conflict To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gedit-plugins/+bug/879632/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 527157] Re: Brightness controls skips Levels.
James: no, there is no need to touch kernel. You should have noticed, that brightness control works as expected, before you login (during boot or even on login screen). Problem is in user-level process running during user session. We have to find that process, than fix will be pretty simple. See plugins/media-keys/gsd-media-keys-manager.c:1528, function do_screen_brightness_action_real(): looks like it is correct place for patch. [Bug 965641] Re: Gnome control center crashes in bluetooth applet while clicking on the sound settings of a bluetooth headset
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/965641 Title: Gnome control center crashes in bluetooth applet while clicking on the sound settings of a bluetooth headset To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/965641/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 962958] [NEW] Touchpad in macbook pro gets clicked all the time randomly when typing
You have been subscribed to a public bug: The touchpad is supposed to be disabled when typing text, but isn't and texts get randomly selected, deleted, cursor moved, inserted elsewhere etc. due to spurious clicks the proximity of the hand causes on touchpad. I do have disable touchpad while typing set to true in mouse settings -touchpad. (btw, I am curious why this setting even present given I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to switch it off, even when gaming - I think I will file a separate bug). This happens so often, like every few secs when typing, that it's super annoying to the point of not being able to use the laptop. The only way out is to disable Enable mouse click with touchpad setting. Then, it's very hard to use touchpad on macbookpro because of the amount of physical clicks involved in middle of the touchpad making select-and-drag kind of operations almost impossible. Either way, it's unusable, so I recomment higher severity for this bug. I am running 12.04, updated like yesterday, but I have seen this happen before in 12.04. So, I don't think this is due to last release. The macbook pro I have is, I think version 8,2. Please let me know if more info is needed from me. [Bug 801763] Re: Typing causes cursor to stick
Hi, By reducing the upstream default 2 sec timout, this fix introduces a severe usability issue for macbook pro users like me. See lp #962958. Getting to your original bug: 1.) Type a few key strokes. 2.) Try to move the cursor using the touchpad. That issue can be easily fixed by adding -t option to syndaemon launch without changing the default timeout. -t option ensures the mouse is movable during the timeout, but will prevent any accidental clicks. So, if you are worried about mouse movement only during that 2 sec, this is better way to patch. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/801763 Title: Typing causes cursor to stick To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/801763/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 962958] Re: Touchpad in macbook pro gets clicked all the time randomly when typing
Apparently, the above patch was introduced as a response to bug #801763. The right way to have fixed that bug would have been to introduce -t option to syndaemon, rather than reducing the timeout. And I think it should be fixed in upstream g-s-d because I can understand that bug being sometimes annoying as well (but not as bad as this one). I think I will file a bug upstream for that, but meantime, please restore the default 2s timeout by removing that patch in bug #801763 and perhaps introduce temporary patch for -t option until upstream settles it.
