[Bug 967471] Re: eog 3.2.1 doesn't display raw files
I got nautilus to display raw files. (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1859267) So it is just an eog issue now. --- I tried building and installing libopenraw from freedesktop.org. If I run gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders I get in the output: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gdk- pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders/libopenraw_pixbuf.so and I ran gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders --update-cache And now eog displays RAW, but in a corrupted fashion. The colours are all wrong. Perhaps I did something wrong in building, or I see why this is not enabled on Ubuntu. --- But why, as eog displayed my raw files fine in Ubuntu 11.04, was it all changed? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to eog in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/967471 Title: eog 3.2.1 doesn't display raw files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eog/+bug/967471/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 969844] [NEW] gnome-terminal window content disappearing
Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce: 1. Start gnome-terminal. 2. Start Rhythmbox in debug mode: # rhythmbox -d 3. Start playback in Rhythmbox. (Maybe this is optional, maybe not. I guess this ensures that fresh output is sent to the gnome-terminal window continuosly, which may help to reproduce the bug.) 4. Switch back to gnome-terminal: the main part of the terminal window goes blank. If this step doesn't produce the bug, try walking around a bit on the desktop, switching windows, minimizing the terminal window etc. Also, when the bug appears, maximizing or resizing back the gnome- terminal window will make the debug output reappear. Walking a bit around the open windows, then returning to gnome-terminal may reproduce the bug again and again. [Bug 969855] [NEW] rhythmbox stops playback every now and then, mostly at the start of a new song
Public bug reported: I'm playing back a long playlist (~1000 titles) in Rhythmbox, made up of mp3's and some ogg files. Every now and then, playback stops, and nothing happens, until I manually make Rhythmbox jump to the next track, then everything returns to normal. It happens once in about every ~15-30 minutes (~4-10 songs). Crossfading is disabled. The playing is mostly stopped at the very beginning of a new song. I noticed a single occasion, when it stopped after playing 15-20 secs of a song. Tried to run from terminal using rhythmbox -d, but it didn't show anything useful (at least not for me). The only thing to note is that the last output line(s) address the previously played file, not the one the pausing happens in. Couldn't pinpoint anything else, sorry. If there's any other information I can produce about the bug, ask and I will see to it. [Bug 966147] Re: no longer displays saved PDF form content
Correction. Downgrading as above does restore normal operation. However, it required re-editing the document content: After clicking on the field, cutting its content away, closing the field, pasting the content back in, saving the document and re-opening it, the content displays as expected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/966147 Title: no longer displays saved PDF form content To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/966147/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 966147] Re: no longer displays saved PDF form content
One detail that I just noticed is that while downgrading allows to save form content again and to display it properly, there remains one (presumably font-related issue): the checkmarks in checkboxes (e.g. check all the following cases that apply) appear as boxes indicating a missing glyph in the font used to display the document. [Bug 970108] [NEW] File operations dialog shows incorrect information in Precise
Public bug reported: When copying or moving multiple large files with nautilus, you can see there is a confusing counter. From beginning it shows Copying/Moving file 0 of X and it ends with Copying/Moving file (X-1) of X. I think this is caused by indexing arrays and other similar structures (starting from 0), in this case it is correct to show index+1 for the counter. I'm not sure, if there is same problem for other file operations, such as deleting and other, I didn't have sample files for trying that, and, honestly, I'm not sure how many similar dialogs for file operations nautilus provides. [Bug 830404] [NEW] Proposed removal of GNOME Classic desktop would be a serious usability and accessibility regression
You have been subscribed to a public bug: In https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/739812/comments/5 , Mark Shuttleworth said, ... we have the Classic desktop fallback in Natty, but will not in Oneiric. This is worrying. Any attempt to remove support for the Classic desktop is likely to cause serious problems for many Ubuntu users, either because Unity doesn't work on their hardware for some reason, or because they just don't like it -- and it's abundantly clear that many people don't like it. For the purpose of this bug, it doesn't really matter why people don't like Unity or why it breaks for them. (In my case, it's because I have a 4480x1440 total display area, for which many of the tablet-oriented design decisions in Unity make absolutely no sense.) It could be argued that that anyone who doesn't want Unity can stay with Maverick or Natty. However, since those aren't LTS releases, they are only supported until April 2012 and October 2012 respectively (including for security fixes). So that's not really an acceptable alternative to continuing to provide the Classic desktop until at least the next LTS release. In my case, I switched from Windows having no idea that Ubuntu would make such drastic changes to the interface in the very next release. (If I'd known that, I might have installed Lucid instead. But downgrading from Maverick to Lucid to get the LTS support doesn't make sense; that would just cause stuff to break.) It is possible to switch to KDE or some other alternative to Unity, of course (although making that switch from a GNOME/Metacity-based install is not without problems). Other environment/window manager combinations are usually selected using the same login screen menu that is used to select Classic vs Unity. Assuming that menu is still there in Oneiric (it will be, right?), and assuming that all the classic desktop packages are still available in the Oneiric apt repositories (they will be, right?), I wonder what simplification is really available from removing Classic as one of the environment/window manager options. If no simplification is available, then there is no justification for removing the option. So, we need some clarity: * what does we will not [have the Classic desktop fallback] in Oneiric mean precisely? Does it just mean not installing packages needed for the Classic desktop *by default* on new installs (but keeping them in the repositories and in a working state, and not messing about with them on existing installs), or does it mean more than that? * will anything that might be necessary for a particular setup currently using the Classic desktop to work, be uninstalled or disabled on an upgrade to Oneiric? (such as disabling the proprietary NVidia drivers as in bug 772019, for example) * if a user has explicitly changed the default environment back to Classic desktop in Natty, will installing Oneiric override that preference, and if so will changing it back again cause regressions like there were with the Maverick-Natty upgrade? (bug 734373 and bug 735861, for example) * for those users who do use Unity, will critical usability and accessibility regressions such as bug 654988, bug 739812, and (not specific to Unity) bug 762806, block the Oneiric release? ** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Tags: oneiric precise regression-release usability -- Proposed removal of GNOME Classic desktop would be a serious usability and accessibility regression https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/830404 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 970196] [NEW] window freeze when setting blank password for default keyring
Public bug reported: The first time after my fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, I entered Wi- Fi password to set up my wireless. Then, as usual, a window popped up for setting up the default keyring. I left it blank, like what I did for previous versions of Ubuntu. Then I got a warning message with the title Store passwords unencrypted? with two buttons to click: Cancel and Use unsafe storage This window is always freezed for me. No part of this window is clickable except close (x) button on top left. Therefore I can't set a blank password for my default keyring. However, if I set a non-blank password, I don't get this message and there is no problem. To reproduce it at a later time: 1. Go to Password and Keys (in terminal: seahorse) 2. Right-click on Passwords: default and select Change Password 3. Fill the Old Pasword text-field with something, but leave the other two fields blank. 4. Press OK What happens: * A warning message appears, but it is non-functional. What should happen: * A warning message should appear and by clicking OK it should go away.
