[Bug 934192] Re: Files and fields with portuguese characters corrupts the database and idv (2/3?)
Hi Almufadado, could you please test the latest ubuntu release, e.g. daily live ISO? And what is the charset encoding for the tags in your mp3 files. If this is caused by tags not in utf-8, could you try put export GST_ID3_TAG_ENCODING=possible mp3 tags charset encoding (e.g. ISO8859-15) to your .bashrc file and re-login to see if anything changes? You could also do a quick trial within a shell as: $ set GST_ID3_TAG_ENCODING=... $ gst-launch --tags uridecodebin uri=file:///path to your mp3 file ! fakesink And see what's the output. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/934192 Title: Files and fields with portuguese characters corrupts the database and idv (2/3?) If I close the dialog and go back into it, then they are not there...the Pictures Folder list is empty. [Bug 987769] [NEW] gconf2-d stops working (but keeps running)
Public bug reported: From time to time I run into problems like nautilus reverting to its default settings (and not saving new settings). The problem is always the gconf2-d daemon. I can quickly solve the problem like this ... killall -HUP gconfd-2 killall nautilus ... after that nautilus will start up using the custom settings. This bug has been around for a while. I submitted it for Debian (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=647408) in november 2011 and more recently for Fedora (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=808757). Note that gconf2-d does not crash. It keeps running - but apparently does not do a lot more than that. I have never been able to trigger this behaviour. It just happens from time to time - say every two hours or so. regards, JS ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: gconf-service-backend 3.2.5-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-23.36-generic 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-23-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu5 Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue Apr 24 12:52:56 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin - Beta amd64 (20120327.1) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US:en TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gconf UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gconf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gconf in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987769 Title: gconf2-d stops working (but keeps running) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gconf/+bug/987769/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 986008] Re: Strange character showing in file listing in Nautilus in some views, for Thai language file names
I don't know when it started, but I don't recall ever seeing it in 11.10. I attach a small text file with a name that uses Thai characters. [Bug 987578] Re: Evince is not allowed to open links from a pdf
Hi, Thanks for your help. This did not fix the issue. But it certainly changed things ! I no longer have the red bar saying Failed to execute child process exo-open (Permission denied), instead I have an alert saying : Failed to launch preferred application for category 'WebBrowser'. Failed to execute child process '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/xfce4/exo-1/exo-helper-1' (Permission denied). So I figured I only needed to add usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/xfce4/exo-1 /exo-helper-1 ixr, to /etc/apparmor.d/local/usr.bin.evince But that didn't work as expected, I don't have the alert anymore but it segfaults right after that. (I can include the additional information for that if you want.) But I am not sure adding that second line to apparmor's configuration was the right thing to do in the first place. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987578 Title: Evince is not allowed to open links from a pdf To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/987578/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 966561] [NEW] Logging in while docked - doesn't remember monitor layout
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have configured the system to use the external monitor only while docked. Thankfully as of Precise it remembers this choice when docking a running system. The same applies when a connection is active, there could be another icon for this, in similar way that Network manager does it already. + + https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bluetooth: The title of the menu should be a + skeletal Bluetooth icon if Bluetooth is off, and a lozenge Bluetooth + icon if Bluetooth is on. ** Changed in: ubuntu-indicator-mods Status: Incomplete = Triaged ** Changed in: gnome-bluetooth (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-bluetooth in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/761766 Title: Indicator for bluetooth should use additional icons when device is visible/connected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-indicator-mods/+bug/761766/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 922299] Re: Mouse-wheeling sliders moves them the wrong way.
The logical incremental direction is left to right (horizontally) and bottom to top (vertically). Vertically (e.g.: with scrollbars), to move the thumb towards the bottom, we move the finger (on top of the mouse wheel) towards us. [Bug 986983] Re: Opening Empthay from the Indicator also opens the Preference window
I see your point, hmmm.. the issue is when you open preferences from the unity launcher with a right click, it is actually running empathy -p which runs empathy and raises the preferences dialog. Then you close the contact list window, activating empathy again to raise it seems to use the -p argument that was passed to empathy previously. It looks like empathy is remembering the state, i have reproduced this just by running it from a terminal. 1) without empathy running, run empathy in a terminal 2) close the contact list window 3) in another terminal, run empathy -p, this will raise the contact list and open a preferences window 4) close the contact list and preferences windows again 5) run empathy in a terminal, this will raise the contact list and open the preferences window So this rules out unity, compiz, or the messaging menu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/986983 Title: Opening Empthay from the Indicator also opens the Preference window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/986983/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 911269] Re: evolution-exchange is ignoring already translated menu-items (Permissions..., Berechtigungen...)

[Bug 911269] Re: evolution-exchange is ignoring already translated menu-items (Permissions..., Berechtigungen...)
Looks like this is actually missing a patch to evolution's e-util; it should be pretty straightforward to get it added since nothing would be using that function (e_action_group_add_actions_localized()) yet. See http://mail.gnome.org/archives/commits-list/2012-January/msg01662.html, though one would probably want to go find the commit on git.gnome.org/browse/evolution to make the patch easier to include in the evolution package. I'm fixing up the package assignations. Vibhav, do you want to give a go to fixing evolution first, then we can upload evolution-exchange again with the translations fix? ** Also affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Status: New = Triaged ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: evolution-exchange (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/911269 Title: evolution-exchange is ignoring already translated menu-items (Permissions..., Berechtigungen...)
