[Bug 1001578] Re: Nautilus on SSD is slower than on external HDD
Ok, maybe we are on to something: I have folder ~/Documents with 20 items total of which 11 folder I have ~/Documents/MyDrawings with 10 files a few images, a few doc files Test A 1 ~/Documents is in List mode - Clicking on MyDrawings takes 5 seconds to open. MyDrawings is in *icon* mode 2 going back to ~/Documents takes again 5 seconds On system monitor I see hardly disk activity. The CPU (i5) occupies ALL cores. RAM uses is 25% (1 of 4GB) Test B 1 ~/Documents I put in Icon mode - Clicking on MyDrawings takes *still* 5 seconds to open. MyDrawings is still in icon mode 2 going back to ~/Documents is Fast ! 3 - again clicking on MyDrawings is Fast ! Conclusion, we have some weird behavior: a. Switching *to* AND *from* a folder in List mode is slow. You would argue, that switching FROM a folder in List mode should be same as switching FROM a folder in Icon mode, but that is not the case. Leaving a folder kills the CPU ! b. All folders in Icon mode is fast. c. as said before, using filebrowser in list mode is always fast, no problems showing file details like sizes, icons and so on ! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1001578 Title: Nautilus on SSD is slower than on external HDD To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1001578/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 954951] Re: Rhythmbox doesn't resume after Pause from a CD track
Andrei, much of what is on Ubuntu is community driven, so the people that handle most of the bugs in the Linux ecosystem are doing this without payed for. When it is not fast enough it was everytime since Linux arrise in a way that the people who feel unconfortable with a bug were doing the fixing by thereself. This has changed a bit in the last years and a Linux user has have today not also a developer(which was common for long). Seeing that there are tons of engineres in background is not correct. Primary every linux user has the opportunity to become a developer. Thing of that we do not have the Billon dollar infrastructure of Microsoft, where you absolutly correct can come arround whith the expectation that there should be enough engineers. Search for Ubuntu become developer(guides and tutorials are there) and give youself a try is my suggestion(I am also affected of this bug). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/954951 Title: Rhythmbox doesn't resume after Pause from a CD track To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/rhythmbox/+bug/954951/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1016724] [NEW] Laptop brightness always reverts to maximum on 12.04
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Whenever I start my laptop the brightness is at maximum. If I turn it down (I set it to minimum) it returns to maximum if I change user account. To be clear, it will still be maximum if I then switch back to the original user account. Very occasionally it has also reset to maximum when I switch workspace, but I can't recreate this behaviour consistently so I'm wary of saying it's the same problem. My expected behaviour is that the brightness level should stay where I set it, as it did in previous releases. [Bug 1017208] Re: file deleted from different location
As I said before I had 3 tabs open in only one window of nautilus first was a folder with some images second was of my Music gallery and third was of my SD card When I selected images and copied them to SD card. it just duplicated all images in the image directory. when I selected those duplicate images and used key bindings (Shift+Del+Enter) My Music gallery became empty. :( actually I mostly use key bindings for deleting things I rarely use trash. and now I think trash is better to lose important data. I will try to report Bugs on this after I figure out how to do that. I am new to Bug reporting on Ubuntu.
