[Bug 1005729] Re: gnome-terminal resizes to max height when mousing over gnome panel
I'm experiencing this bug too. The deciding factor as to which windows move and which don't, when I mouse-over the launchers on gnome-panel, appears to be whether that window has at any point in the past had an overlap outside of the screen struts, ie it has been anywhere that a newly created or maximised window could not be. So if I drag a window halfway off the bottom of the screen, or a few pixels underneath a panel, even if I drag it back, it will then move around randomly whenever I mouse-over the launchers on gnome-panel. It's kinda weird. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1005729 Title: gnome-terminal resizes to max height when mousing over gnome panel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/1005729/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1018346] [NEW] CTRL key = Primary ... sometimes
Public bug reported: freshly installed Ubuntu 12.04 and gnome-shell, using gnome with no effects gnome-control-center: Installed: 1:3.4.2-0ubuntu0.2 Candidate: 1:3.4.2-0ubuntu0.2 left CTRL key seems to be interpreted as PRIMARY key, however it only happens in certain enviroments for example in firefox left CTRL + T does NOT open a new tab, it needs right CTRL + T , however left CTRL + click a link DOES correctly open the link in a new tab. Same key seems to be interpreted differently by the same application (firefox in this case) same thing applies to keyboard shortcuts - I defined CTRL + F1 = move window to workspace 1, but only right control works, left control doesn't. [Bug 878492] Re: Keyboard shortcut - F10 shortcut is used to show menu and this is wrong
I am running Ubuntu 11.10 AMD-64, applied all fixes, tried various work-arounds, rebooted a few times, and pressing F10 still displays first menu list. As something of a newbie with Ubuntu, I'll be honest and say that I can't understand quite a bit of the jargon that goes on - what's gtk? unity? 2D vs 3D? At the end of the day, all I want is for Ubunut to allow me to press F10 and have it passed through to the app - in my case VirtualBox running Windows with Visual Studio debugging step being F10. [Bug 1018371] [NEW] Unable to open multiple files in Firefox from Nautilus at once

[Bug 1018543] Re: evince fails to upgrade in GNome-shell 3.5
hi Jeremy, I found out something, what might perhaps interest you: I think, I found a possible reason for this error. Because the error resolved, after I uninstalled evince completely through Synaptic and then it removed the package libevince3-3 and installed libevview3-3 instead. And since then, this error did not return anymore. Perhaps it is possible, that this package libevince3-3 is no longer needed, because libevview 3-3 took over??? Can this be a thing?? Can you try to reproduce this error throug the following way: just open the Software-Updater in Gnome-Shell 3.5 and fetch the upgrade. Does ist tell you the same error then?? And then close this and go to the Terminal and try the following commands: sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get dist-upgrade Then it brings up this error. Then it suggest to use the command -f So I did that, but the error came again. So I closed Terminal ans went to Synaptic and opened it. Then I uninstalled evince completely and re- installed it and this seems to resolve this by removeing libevince3-3 and replacing it with libevview 3-3. Can you check this for me please if the same thing happenes for you?? [Bug 1013171] Re: Many package hooks not ported to python3
** Also affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu Quantal) Status: New = Confirmed ** Description changed: Since the description here is the only post that can be updated, it seems the best place to keep a changing list of packages that need examining. (The original description was brief, and about only one package.) We've fixed all the packages that found in the apt logs uploaded in the first round of breakage. Now I've tried to review all the other apport hooks I could find in Quantal. Working from the archive's Contents file, I got the list of packages that have files under /usr/share/apport /package-hooks . [Bug 1018665] [NEW] Evince cannot view XPS documents
You have been subscribed to a public bug: libgxps claims to be the library to allow Evince to view XPS documents. I have an XPS document and it simply complains that it's a ZIP file. [Bug 969359] Re: [keyboard]: gnome-settings-daemon consumes 100% cpu (and blinking numlock)
Is it possible this is a browser script? I noticed it right away bc I have a laptop keyboard and it immediately started sending numbers instead of the letters I was typing. Is it possible that a browser script could inject this? I was at a dubious website when it happened, looking to rip audio from youtube on linux. Other people have associated it with the browser as well. This is a pretty major security issue if it is the case, as it involves settings owned by root I think. plz don't tell RIAA ;) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/969359 Title: [keyboard]: gnome-settings-daemon consumes 100% cpu (and blinking numlock) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/969359/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1013171] Re: Many package hooks not ported to python3
** Description changed: Since the description here is the only post that can be updated, it seems the best place to keep a changing list of packages that need examining. I skipped the packages already fixed above, and those that were on my system, during the first round of breakage, and had no problems. For the rest, I downloaded the debs, extracted the apport hooks, and ran '2to3' on them. I've posted patches for every package that broke under python3. So these may need patching, too. + Hm...from a preliminary look, a number of those use the same code: + + if report.has_key(Stacktrace) + + which generates an exception with python3. We're probably going to want + to change those to + +if Stacktrace in report + + and I'll try to post some of those simple patches, soon. + Side note: rss-glx: the python is fine, but the hook file is just named 'source', with no package name or extension, so I filed bug 1017780 about that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1013171 Title: Many package hooks not ported to python3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1013171/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 969359] Re: [keyboard]: gnome-settings-daemon consumes 100% cpu (and blinking numlock)
I did the file rename in #33, logged out and back in again and restored the keyboard.gnome-settings-plugin filename and the problem did not come back. I went to my browser history and reloaded all the pages at the time the keyboard error kicked in and none of them set off the num lock error. So I'm ast least guilty of attributing cause to correlation. on the up side, restoring the keyboard file, which appears to be just a list of languages in their own scripts to indicate keyboard layouts, did not cause the numlock problem to recur, so maybe folks who need that file can safely restore it after deleting and logging out and in. gnome settings daemon is happily sleeping at 0%cpu and numlock is off. Yay.
