[Bug 1026026] [NEW] The application xpdf launches and then closes immediately
Public bug reported: I am a first-time user using a new, clean installation of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (installed on the day of its release) and have installed all of the recommended updates as they have become available since. I attempted to use the apt-cache policy pkgname command without success. Even so, it's a great system! When I attempt to use xpdf to view or print a PDF document, the application flashes on the screen, attempting to open and then disappears. A minute or so later I receive the error-message that I have taken screenshots of and will attempt to append to this report. The error-message on screen intrigues me because it tells me there is a bug and asks me if I wish to report it but gives me no CONTINUE option. I am relatively new to Ubuntu and am not as up-to-speed as I would like to be but, after using Mepis for many years, I love its simplicity and user-friendliness, so am keen to do what I can to solve any problems I encounter. I have taken two screenshots of the entire error message and attempted to append them to this report but it appears that I can append only one of them. I have attached the first page but can send the second subsequently, if you think it necessary. [Bug 979326] Re: [soudnua]: No Input Level is detected for all my microphones
In my case I've discovered that, if I connect a microphone to the back mic connector, gnome-control-center detects it but can't get any sound from it. [Bug 1026278] [NEW] default window is too small for ubuntu music store
Public bug reported: Open rhythymbox from dash search. A relatively small window appears - plenty big enough for playing music. But click on the Ubuntu One music store item. [Bug 988251] Re: Nautilus cut/copy--paste not working, Rename option is greyed out
Same type of issue. Copy/paste/cut and rename become randomly grayed out. Usually this happens when I first open the file manager and then begin to open a few other folders as separate tabs. I have also noticed this issue randomly happening when having several tabs (just mentioning this because I usually have several open; i am not sure if this a cause of the issue) for a long period of time (hours, days maybe). The only way I notice is when I go to copy, paste, cut, or rename file(s) or folder(s). I've noticed this bug for several releases of Ubuntu now. At least 11.10, probably 11.04 (can't exactly remember) and possibly further back. I usually just have to close and reopen the file manager to fix the problem. [Bug 1026414] [NEW] Rhythmbox consistently fails on new installs trying to scan large home directory
Public bug reported: I have a home directly with a lot of files (about 100GB...maybe 500,000 files) -- mostly for software development purposes. Everytime I do a fresh install of 12.04 (x64) I have a problem with Rhythmbox whereby when I first run it, it hangs for about 5 seconds every 3 seconds. Then after about 1 minute it totally freezes. Rhythmbox reports about 3000 import errors regarding misc files in my home directory (that aren't even song files). I am unable to import any songs from my library (about 5,000 songs). My workaround is to use dconf-editor to remove my home directory from rythmdb/locations (leaving ubuntuOne alone). I also have to delete the ~/.local/share/applications/rhythmbox directory as well. After that it starts normally and I can import my library and it works great from then on.
