into xsession-errors:

org.gtk.vfs.MountTracker.listMountableInfo call failed: GDBus.Error:

[Bug 1033417] [NEW] all window manager shortcuts (e.g. Alt-F4) broken in Unity

2012-08-06 Thread Stefan Majewsky
Public bug reported:

Since about a week, all window manager shortcuts are broken, that is:
pressing them does nothing. This affects most prominently Alt-F4 and
Alt-Tab. The panel's shortcuts, like Alt, Super and Super+Number, are
still working, as are shortcuts inside applications (and every other
keyboard input).

xev tells me that all input events for Alt-F4 are sent to the client
window.

This system is a virtual machine in VirtualBox under a 64-bit Windows 7
host; guest additions are installed. The system is used for web
development; my typical session contains Firefox, Konsole (from KDE),
Pidgin and pgAdmin III.

Hi..

Bug 51443 mentions the same issue and this may be just a dupe of it.

Since 51443 is confusing (it suddenly discusses 2 bugs, printing problem
and a crash) I decided to start a new bug.

I still have problems printing some PDF documents with evince and cairo 1.12.2..
I already tried the latest git (g1e9abd6) but it did not fix my problem.
Displaying the PDF in evince is find, printing and print preview is broken.

one problematic PDF can be found here:
http://www-stat.stanford.edu/~ckirby/brad/papers/2005LocalFDR.pdf

i currently use:
cairo latest git g1e9abd6 (1.12.2 + 126 commits)
pixman latest git g1dcca0f (0.27.x)
poppler 0.20.2
evince 3.5.4

I also attach the pdf file produced by print-to-pdf with evince.

What else can I do/provide to help fixing this bug?

Best, marius..

[Bug 1033385] Re: package desktop-file-utils 0.16-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: il sottoprocesso vecchio script di post-installation ha restituito lo stato di errore 139

2012-08-06 Thread Ubuntu Foundation's Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it
seems that a package failed to install due to a segmentation fault in
application being used by the package installation process.
Unfortunately, this bug report isn't very useful in its current state
and a crash report would be much more useful. Could you try recreating
this issue by enabling apport to catch the crash report 'sudo service
apport start force_start=1' and then trying to install the same package
again? This process will create a new bug report so I am marking this
one as Invalid. Thanks again for helping out!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 406036]

2012-08-06 Thread Dominique Leuenberger aka DimStar
Sorry, this bug did not get the attention it deserved.

Not likely, you have already upgraded to newer versions of openSUSE, which had
a lot more bug fixes.

We believe that this specific bug has been fixed during one of the
release cycles; as such, I close the bug as 'FIXED'.

Should you be able to reproduce this issue on a newer openSUSE version, please
feel to report it again.

[Bug 1033439] [NEW] Can't assign Super+L to Lock Screen

2012-08-06 Thread relgames
Public bug reported:

Installed Ubuntu 12.04 64bit today, switched to Gnome Classic (no
effects) and I can't assign Super+L to Lock Screen function.

I go to System Settings - Keyboard - Shortcuts - System, then I click
on Lock Screen and press Super + L, it appears in the list but when I
press it again it doesn't work.

If I set it back to Ctrl+Alt+L it works again. Actually, I tried to set it to
different Super + ?? combinations, and neither of them work.
if I assign Super+L to so other command, like Start Terminal, it works.

2012-08-06 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. We'd be grateful if you
would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 1028518] Re: Fn keys such as brightness and volume stopped working after update

2012-08-06 Thread Redsandro
@rCX: I cannot test your hypothesis, because I do not have Windows
installed at the moment. However, two notes:

1) This is a brand new Edge from september 2011 (Intel), which is
different from the ones made pre-2011 (AMD) which are mentioned in
topics with similar problems.

2) Hotkeys have always worked, until one day they did not. How can this
be BIOS/hardware related?

I can also confirm that just changing the name attribute in
/usr/share/doc/python3.2/html/python3.2.devhelp.gz fixes this problem.
Just changing it from Python to Python3 is enough, which I've done
in the above patch.

Same problem to me.
Nautilus hangs and then gives up with a Could not register the application: È

Workarounds;

Restarting Unity usually works, but I wouldn't consider it a solution.

Although the newly mounted partitions (internal memory and SD card) do
appear in Nautilus, only the first-level directories are listed; all
appear empty, although I know there are actually files in there:

On the other hand, using gmtp does show the files, but it is extremely
slow to connect to the device, and is not reliable (it starts to fail
after downloading a few files).

I've seen other MTP-related bug reports, but none with these exact
symptoms (ie. showing first-level directories only).

[Bug 1033512] Re: Cannot browse files through MTP on Galaxy S3 phone

2012-08-06 Thread gpothier
Sorry, this is probably not related to nautilus but rather to gvfs. I'll
run apport-collect to upload relevant info.

** Package changed: nautilus (Ubuntu) = gvfs (Ubuntu)

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

When I plug in the phone, an error message pops up, usually this one:
  Unable to mount SAMSUNG_Android

[Bug 591608] Re: All accounts was lost after attempting to call by audio on gtalk

2012-08-06 Thread Ivan Diaz
Hi Brian,

You said:

- the only changes I made to my PAM config files was what is required
to support LDAP authentication -

Two years later i have the same problem, and it's not related to empathy
itself, the apparmor profile denies the filesystem write on a special
homedir different to /home or /root.

In my case my samba/winbind authentication profile map the homedir to
/home/MYDOMAIN, and my uid 1, i got this error:

myubuntu kernel: [ 2054.314126] type=1400 audit(1343778981.574:105):
apparmor=DENIED operation=mkdir parent=1 profile=/usr/lib/telepathy
/mission-control-5 name=/home/MYDOMAIN/myusername/.mission-control/
pid=3090 comm=mission-control requested_mask=c denied_mask=c
fsuid=1 ouid=1

Why empathy worked? Because it writes the config in /tmp as fallback,
when the cron job for cleaning /tmp run and you close your account: The
empathy contacts dissapear. I have solved it modifying the file
/etc/apparmor.d/tunables/home:

Look for this line:

@{HOMEDIRS}=/home/

And add your homedir base, i will use my winbind homedir :
/home/MYDOMAIN/ some LDAP servers use /users as homedir.

@{HOMEDIRS}=/home/ /home/MYDOMAIN/

And restart apparmor:

/etc/init.d/apparmor restart

You may disable apparmor as alternative if you have related telepathy-
apparmor problems, check your syslog.

Finally forgive my basic english, spanish is my natural languaje, i hope
it works for other users with similar problems.

[Bug 1033572] [NEW] Shotwell 0.12.3 consumes massive amount of RAM if auto-import is on and you have a large photo library

2012-08-06 Thread Eduard Grebe
Public bug reported:

When initially trying to import all of my photos (about 27 000, man
RAWs), Shotwell kept crashing. I discovered it ran out of memory during
the operation. I finally managed to get it to finish by increasing my
swap space to 32GB.

However, everytime I launch the application while the watch library
directory for new files option is switched on, it starts an auto-import
process (even if there are no new files) and the application ends up
consuming a huge amount of RAM that it never releases. As you can see in
the attached screenshot, the application -- which had been running for
some time, no new photos to import -- is using more than 15GB of memory.

2012-08-06 Thread Eduard Grebe
Launchpad won't let me link the upstream bug report.

First, it says that Shotwell bugs are tracked at http://trac.yorba.org ,
while it is in fact redmine.yorba.org.

Second, it claims not to recoginise this bug tracker URL:

[Bug 1033572] Re: Shotwell 0.12.3 consumes massive amount of RAM if auto-import is on and you have a large photo library

2012-08-06 Thread Adam Dingle
Right. We used to use Trac to track bugs at Yorba, but we switched to
Redmine about a year ago. Launchpad can't (yet) link to Redmine bugs,
so for now we just add a comment like this:

This has also been reported upstream at
http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/5622 .

[Bug 1033618] [NEW] The program 'gedit' received an X Window System error.

2012-08-06 Thread moma
Public bug reported:

Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)

moma@precise32:~/desktop-radio$
(gedit:2625): Gdk-WARNING **: The program 'gedit' received an X Window System
error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 233477 error_code 3 request_code 143 minor_code 51)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment
variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

upstream closed the bug with that comment

This would only affect the desktop view which is not provided by default in
GNOME 3. It would be very tricky to design correctly and implement so I don't
think the benefit is worth it.

closing as well the bug is too low priority to be worked in a
distribution specific way
