Just to correct things. Marlin is no longer developed by the Elementary team. [Bug 983291] Re: Screen Rotation options only Counterclockwise Clockwise
Hi. I have discovered the reason for this issue. It is not a bug, per say, though the interface and the information given to the user are confusing and broken The reason that normal and 180 degrees are not made available in the screen display settings is that UNITY (which i Hate btw) uses your graphics card's 3D rendering (lord knows why) by default. What you will find is that the maximum horizontal size of your threeD rendering space is less than the width of your two minitors combined. So the interface does not show that option. This is also why the normal a rotation is available normally IF you log out and set the session to Ubuntu 2D all these problems will disappear. Secondly I think the way that tranqy was spoken to is totally outside the premise of Ubuntu and of LaunchPad and of this bug. Sebastien, you clearly did not take the time to understand this bug and were rude to a user for no reason and sent someone away from the Ubuntu community. Shame on you. [Bug 1034949] [NEW] Keyboard shortcuts in menus do not always work
Public bug reported: tl;dr menu key followed by letter does not always highlight menu item. I am a user that prefers using the keyboard rather than the mouse. This is a bug that I have noticed for a long time (many Ubuntu versions) and have decided to finally report. In Nautilus, a simple action such as renaming a file can be done by right clicking, choosing rename, typing the new file name, pressing enter. Without the mouse, this can be done by navigating to the file with the cursor keys, pressing the menu key, pressing R, pressing enter, then continuing with the rename. It is the point at which R is pressed that doesn't always select the rename option. This is particularly annoying when renaming multiple files, as the fluid repetitive routine is broken when this bug occurs. [Bug 971051] Re: no alt+tab in gnome classic session
I have a 12.04 installation that was upgraded from 10.10 to 11.04 to 11.10 to 12.04 using the update manager and then enabling Gnome Classic. I had the same problem of alt+tab not working even though my System Settings- Keyboard Shortcuts:--- Navigation setting said Alt+Tab would Switch Applications. But I tried setting it to alt+super+tab and that worked fine. I then just for experiment tried setting it back to alt+tab again and it then worked! [Bug 643337] Re: printer job fails with /usr/lib/cups/backend/ipselect failed
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 620751 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/620751 Kevin: Thanks for the reply, I will reply here so this bug report and all messages stay in this bug ticket; it might be not related to similar errors at all. Anyway: If you compare any output made by poppler (?) and Adobe Reader, you will see, that Adobe Reader basically recreates the PS file, when sent to a spooler, making it much larger, than in original. Actually I couldn't figure out how and which method it uses, but it basically rebuilds it. Poppler on the other hand translates it for the spooler, but doesn't seem to be able to use a language, which can be interpreted by the printer within the IBM printing network (now owned by Lexmark). So it would be a good idea for testing the differences between the output of poppler and Adobe Reader. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to poppler in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/643337 Title: printer job fails with /usr/lib/cups/backend/ipselect failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/poppler/+bug/643337/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 958699] Re: Empathy doesn't open chat windows
I really wish I could give you the steps to reproduce it, but I never figured out a pattern. What I can tell you about the bug is this: - it didn't appear until I installed gnome-contacts and gnome-online-accounts - normally empathy would work fine, but everyonce in a while when I opened the contact list, it would show my online contacts, but nothing would happen if I double clicked on them or right clicked and slected Chat. - When the bug was occuring, I could still open Previous Conversations when right clicking on the contact. - When the bug was occuring, I could not open the Accounts dialog from the Edit menu. - If I quit Empathy while the bug was occurring, the right arrow in the messaging indicator was still on Chat, showing that Empathy wasn't fully closed. Attempting to reopen Empathy after quitting would have it stall and tell me that it couldn't access any account information. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/958699 Title: Empathy doesn't open chat windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/958699/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
