[Bug 976624] Re: Add support for keywords
Chris, these keywords are used *only* for the sole purpose of improving the matching in the dash. Currently, a new user can find totem in the dash by explicitly searching for totem, movie. However the keywords will help the user find totem using other generic terms such as Film, DVD etc etc.. Hi! While working with a colleague today I discovered a bug that could make the device disappear after S3 suspend/resume. Maybe it is related? [Bug 1040050] [NEW] R script misidentified as MATLAB script/function
Public bug reported: This has been observed on Ubuntu 11.04 and 12.04 (so it probably also occurs in 11.10). An R script (http://www.r-project.org/) is a text file with the extension .R. If the file starts with a comment (the first line starts with ##) - which is very common for source code - the file type listed in Nautilus is MATLAB script/function. This is annoying given that R can be seen as competitor to MATLAB. If the file doesn't start with ##, it is identified as plain text document, which is not really specific, but also not wrong. I would suggest to identify text files as MATLAB script/function only if they have the appropriate extension .m. This should also solve bug #319533. Further, it would be nice to add a file type for R script. ** Affects: shared-mime-info (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to shared-mime-info in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1040050 Title: R script misidentified as MATLAB script/function To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shared-mime-info/+bug/1040050/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1037196] Re: Set network proxy to none, yet http_proxy env var is still set in bash after new login
I experience a very similar problem. Funny enough, other proxy variables in the gnome-control-center network applet (https_proxy, ftp_proxy, socks host) are set correctly and reflected as entered in terminal, e.g. $ env |grep https_proxy https_proxy=http://domain\user:password@proxy.example.com:8080/ For http_proxy however, it appears that the contents of the HTTP Proxy field is concatenated to some other values (coming from god knows where), which are actually some old authentication data, set prior to upgrading to 12.04: $ env |grep http_proxy http_proxy=http://old_domain%5Cold_user:old_password@domain\user:password@proxy.example.com:8080/ where 'domain\user:password@proxy.example.com:8080/' is what I actually entered in the control center. I could not find any trace of either old domain, user or password anywhere on the system (searched in gconf-editor and global grep) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1037196 Title: Set network proxy to none, yet http_proxy env var is still set in bash after new login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1037196/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1040193] [NEW] Redundant ubuntu-online-accounts and gnome-online-accounts panels using a session other than Unity
Public bug reported: To reproduce this, close gnome-control-center and run the following command: env XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=GNOME gnome-control-center Note that there are two Online Accounts panels: one for ubuntu-online- accounts and one for gnome-online-accounts. This is very unpleasant. These two panels claim to do the same thing, but ultimately they have nothing to do with each other. To make matters worse, the gnome-online-accounts panel doesn't appear to do much of anything by default (except probably with Evolution) since Empathy has been built to use ubuntu-online-accounts — to the extent that Empathy will open that configuration panel when the user chooses Accounts from its menu. ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1040193 Title: Redundant ubuntu-online-accounts and gnome-online-accounts panels using a session other than Unity To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1040193/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 861171] Re: Shutdown from greeter does nothing when multiple accounts open
@Florian, You're right!! This isn't a full solution. It's only a workaround for those (like me) that want a partial solution and accept the (high) risk. As I have said in a previous comment (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity- greeter/+bug/861171/comments/13) the full solution is that where PolicyKit will be working correctly and asking only to admin users if they really want to halt/reboot the system. lvscar came across the same solution I just found in the Arch forums: Solving problem with slow cold start: Some people still have problems with Thunar taking a long time to start for the first time. This is due to gvfs checking the network and Thunar won't show up before gvfs finishes.
