[Bug 1047588] Re: Shotwell spawning oauth2callback to mardy.it
Hi all, and sorry for the mess! This bug is caused by a change in the online-accounts-signon-ui, which is now more strict about the URLs it handles; in particular, all non-https URLs (such as http://www.mardy.it/oauth2callback;) are opened in the default browser. At the same time, we updated the account plugins (source package is online-accounts-account-plugins) not to use that URL; however, all Online Accounts which you might have already created are not automatically updated to use the new settings. The bug for tracking this is bug 1047191. *SHORT TERM SOLUTION* Delete all your accounts from Online Accounts (which is found in the System Settings), and re-create them. Don't worry, this won't cause any data loss. Sorry again for the inconvenience! ** Summary changed: - Shotwell spawning oauth2callback to mardy.it + Account authentication spawning oauth2callback to mardy.it ** Package changed: shotwell (Ubuntu) = online-accounts-account-plugins -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to shotwell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1047588 Title: Account authentication spawning oauth2callback to mardy.it To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/online-accounts-account-plugins/+bug/1047588/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

In detail: After successfully burning a CD, brasero asked to please eject the CD yourself (or similar, I've it in german language). So I eject it. [Bug 1048024] Re: nothing from Empathy shows up in irc search in Software Center
I am searching Ubuntu Software Center for the search query irc (three letters, no quotes.) A user who is looking for a way to use IRC is likely to try that search, and Empathy plus account-plugin-irc is a good answer for them, perhaps the best answer for them. Therefore that answer should show up in that search -- either in the form of the empathy package itself or the account-plugin-irc package. Neither package does. I filed this bug against empathy because empathy's and account-plugin- irc's package metadata control how they are found in Software Center. [Bug 796076] Re: When run as root [gksudo gedit whatever] gedit tries to open a 2nd 'untitled document 1'
its pretty queer: when doing a sudo su, and then as root gedit anyfile , no second untitled document 1 is opened. but when using gksu/gksudu it is; in the latter case ps shows that the command line that started gedit was exactly this gedit anyfile. this additional untitled document 1 always has the changed mark (leading asterisk) but: nothing has happened to it, undo is inactive, and it has no contents: when saved it has zero bytes. tried to find out what gksu really did by strace -f gksu gedit /etc/fstab and found it does: execve(/usr/bin/sudo, [/usr/bin/sudo, -H, -S, -p, GNOME_SUDO_PASS, -u, root, --, gedit, /etc/fstab], [/* 38 vars */]) = 0 more readable: /usr/bin/sudo -H -S -p GNOME_SUDO_PASS -u root -- gedit /etc/fstab which means: set home to /root, read password from stdin, and prompt with GNOME_SUDO_PASS (triggers gksu to output the pass phrase) when I issue this very command in a xterm and enter my password after the prompt gedit opens without this dummy untitled document, but with exactly the same execve call it does? I have no clue ... so summarizing: - not caused by wrong setting in root's account - not caused by wrong command from gksu - caused by a different handling of the execve system call in contrast to the shell? this is on a newly set up maya mint system, but running gnome-classic from precise repositories btw: regarding the #23 desktop file: grep Exec /usr/share/applications/gedit.desktop - Exec=gedit %U Exec=gedit --new-window Exec=gedit --new-window -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gedit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/796076 Title: When run as root [gksudo gedit whatever] gedit tries to open a 2nd 'untitled document 1' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gedit/+bug/796076/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1048441] [NEW] gnome-terminal displays missing font glyph very poorly
Public bug reported: I was wondering why some of my log lines did not contain a final closing doublequote, if the quoted string contained some funky UTF-8. In fact, they did -- the quote glyph was just drawn in the same space as the font missing glyph. Attaching a screenshot to demonstrate. Run python -c print u'\U0000X - the X is obscured' to see for yourself. [Bug 887674] [NEW] Desktop wallpaper doesn't rotate images
You have been subscribed to a public bug: The images I take on my digital camera are tagged in the EXIF data with orientation, so whether I took it in portrait or landscape, the picture shows up correctly. Nautilus, Gthumb, Shotwell, etc. work with this just fine. Using them as desktop wallpaper used to work fine, too. In Oneiric, they are no longer rotated. They show up to the wallpaper chooser sideways.
