[Bug 1026058] [NEW] Applications Menu .desktop item with category Electronics creates an uneditable sub-menu Electronics
You have been subscribed to a public bug: The Electronics sub-menu is not part of the current xfce-panel applications menu, but any .desktop file with Category Electronics will result in the Electronics sub-menu being displayed. The problem is that this sub-menu cannot be edited (hidden or moved for example) (without editing the .desktop file), because as far as the current xfce-applications.menu file is concerned it doesn't (shouldn't) exist. To reproduce the problem simply add Category=Electronics to any .desktop file. Public bug reported: I have about 16 GB of mp3 files on my Synology NAS configured as a Windows share. [Bug 1026058] Re: Applications Menu .desktop item with category Electronics creates an uneditable sub-menu Electronics
This Electronics submenu is not part of Xubuntu by default. You've probably installed an extra package that provides a .menu in /etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged/ (they will be automatically included in the panel menu). [Bug 862027] Re: System Settings Keyboard icon indistinct with Ambiance
I'm going to re-open this as I don't believe this was fixed correctly. For the Ubuntu GNOME Remix, we want to get as pure of a GNOME experience as possible. The fix that was applied in Oneiric changes the icon used for the Keyboard panel. From the original bug report, I believe we basically went with #3 but I think #2 is what we want for raring. [Bug 1048059] Re: Adding ACLs to /media/$user does not work
I just tried the workaround suggested by Sebastian Heutling (on 2012-10-06) and others, of creating a directory whose name is my username in /media, and this worked for me too. Now mounts of removable media show up under that subdirectory instead of directly under /media. Is this the new normal behavior for 12.10? If so, then the upgrade processing should obviously create this subdirectory for all current users. But I just tried creating a brand new account and no subdirectory of /media for that username was created.
