[Bug 1095234] [NEW] Crashes Daily: /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory
Public bug reported: Each time I reboot my machine (since October 2012!) a crash report comes up saying that this package has crashed: /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory I've sent the crash report probably 60 times as this point. Each time I send it, I get no opportunity to comment about it (no launchpad.net bug report page is launched. So in order to provide feedback, I typed the following command: ubuntu-bug /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory I hope doing this will automatically provide a log of all these crashes. I've reinstalled Ubuntu 12.10 fairly recent, but this didn't stop the crash from occurring every boot. This may be a duplicate of another bug, but I'm not certain. Btw, I've selected the ignore this bug option numerous times at the crash dialog and it has no effect. Can someone advise me on how to prevent this crash from recurring? As far as I know, I don't even use evolution or its calendar. So, why does it get launched each reboot anyway. Surely this has been reported. Why no fixes yet? It's 2013 now. Happy New Year. [Bug 1095239] [NEW] Evolution crashes when navigating messages in IMAP folder
Public bug reported: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using: 12.10 2) The version of the package you are using: evolution: 3.6.0-0ubuntu3 3) What you expected to happen: I selected a message in the list of messages in the right-hand pane. I expected the contents of the message to appear in the reading pane at the bottom. Note that the crash only happens when I am navigating an IMAP folder, not a local folder. The crash does NOT happen when Evolution is syncing the folder with the IMAP folder. It seems to happen later. 4) What happened instead: A half-second after I clicked the message, the Evolution GUI simply crashed and dissappeared. Checking the running processes before and after the crash via ps, I note that all the backend processes continue to run. Only the evolution process crashes. These are the processes which do NOT crash: /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-source-registry /usr/lib/evolution/3.6/evolution-alarm-notify /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-addressbook-factory ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1095239 Title: Evolution crashes when navigating messages in IMAP folder To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/1095239/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I'm on Lubuntu 12.10 and just installed Ubuntu One, which is the only online sync service offered in the main repos. I would like to note that this issue also was the same on Ubuntu 12.04, and is on both my primary laptop (this one) with a Radeon HD7000 series card, and my secondary laptop with an Radeon HD4000 series card. I believe this bug is the same as this bug 879522 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/879522), though that bug was closed due to lack of response.
