[Bug 1095234] [NEW] Crashes Daily: /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory

2013-01-02 Thread Lonnie Lee Best
Public bug reported:

Each time I reboot my machine (since October 2012!) a crash report comes up
saying that this package has crashed:
/usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory

I've sent the crash report probably 60 times as this point. Each time I
send it, I get no opportunity to comment about it (no launchpad.net bug
report page is launched.

So in order to provide feedback, I typed the following command:
ubuntu-bug /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory

I hope doing this will automatically provide a log of all these crashes.

I've reinstalled Ubuntu 12.10 fairly recent, but this didn't stop the
crash from occurring every boot.

This may be a duplicate of another bug, but I'm not certain.

Btw, I've selected the ignore this bug option numerous times at the
crash dialog and it has no effect.

Can someone advise me on how to prevent this crash from recurring? As
far as I know, I don't even use evolution or its calendar. So, why does
it get launched each reboot anyway.

Surely this has been reported. Why no fixes yet? It's 2013 now. Happy
New Year.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which
is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper

[Bug 1095239] [NEW] Evolution crashes when navigating messages in IMAP folder

2013-01-02 Thread Cameron Smith
Public bug reported:

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using: 12.10
2) The version of the package you are using: evolution: 3.6.0-0ubuntu3
3) What you expected to happen:
I selected a message in the list of messages in the right-hand pane. I
expected the contents of the message to appear in the reading pane at the
bottom. Note that the crash only happens when I am navigating an IMAP folder,
not a local folder. The crash does NOT happen when Evolution is syncing the
folder with the IMAP folder. It seems to happen later.

4) What happened instead:
A half-second after I clicked the message, the Evolution GUI simply crashed and
dissappeared. Checking the running processes before and after the crash via
ps, I note that all the backend processes continue to run. Only the
evolution process crashes.

These are the processes which do NOT crash:
/usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory
/usr/lib/evolution/evolution-source-registry
/usr/lib/evolution/3.6/evolution-alarm-notify
/usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory
/usr/lib/evolution/evolution-addressbook-factory

[Bug 841409] Re: GEdit is the only choice as Calendar application in Default Applications dialog

2013-01-02 Thread Vinay
Bug confirmed on Ubuntu Raring (alpha). The workaround given in Comment
21
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+3.0/+bug/841409/comments/21)
works perfectly.

However, when clicked on Open Calender it opens (or highlights)
Thunderbird, but does not open the calendar tab.

Thanks for the workaround though.

[Bug 1077289] Re: Lubuntu 12.04 missing libpam-gnome-keyring

2013-01-02 Thread John Hupp
I'm on Lubuntu 12.10 and just installed Ubuntu One, which is the only
online sync service offered in the main repos. I too, find that the
separate keyring login is an annoyance and would like to link the
default keyring to the login keyring. (Is that the same as setting up
the default keyring with automatic login?)

Is there a work-around (other than deleting the keyring)? Can I install
libpam-gnome-keyring or gnome-keyring-manager to enable this sort of
configuration? Or do something else?

[Bug 1095321] [NEW] Capital JPG extension not recognized as pictures

2013-01-02 Thread Hein
Public bug reported:

When accessing my photo's stored on my home directory e.g. when I want
to upload them to the web, or an online photoalbum files with a JPG (all
capitals) extension are not recognized as images. When I change the
extension to jpg (no capitals) the very same files are recognized as
images.

The dialog box shows 'images' and I can't select the 'all files' option
- this could perhaps also solve the problem. I have found a really old
bug description that seems to report the exact same problem.

[Bug 1095502] [NEW] Fglrx is installed but details is reporting VESA

2013-01-02 Thread Britt Yazel
Public bug reported:

I am running Ubuntu 12.10 x86_64 and have just recently installed the
FGLRX-updates package. The package has installed correctly and I can
confirm that the fglrx drivers are in fact active and running, but
System SettingsDetails reports VESA:DVST as the Graphics provider.

I would like to note that this issue also was the same on Ubuntu 12.04,
and is on both my primary laptop (this one) with a Radeon HD7000 series
card, and my secondary laptop with an Radeon HD4000 series card.

I believe this bug is the same as this bug 879522
