[Bug 1095321] Re: Capital JPG extension not recognized as pictures

2013-01-22 Thread Hein
I have added some screenshots. Don't know if the 'open file' dialog is
part of Nautilus. But here is what happens.

[Bug 1095321] Re: Capital JPG extension not recognized as pictures

2013-01-22 Thread Hein
There is a workaround for me and that is to import the photos again in
shotwell. There is an option to get rid of all capitals in the
filenames. Seems to me that some developer at Shotwell had a comparable
problem and made a solution for it.

2013-01-22 Thread mokka
Public bug reported:

Hi,

i`ve activated the accessibility icon on the top bar via System Settings
/ Universal Access. I`m using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with gnome3 classic
desktop - but this bug also applies to Unity.

When clicking on the icon i cant pick any options as all options are
grey - only the option to increase the text size can be picked.

I hope someone can take care of this bug.

Kind regards

[Bug 1102915] [NEW] Profile color chooser should default to currently selected color

2013-01-22 Thread Arild
Public bug reported:

When editing a profile, in the Colors tab, you can customize each swatch
in the palette. The plus sign button in the lower left obviously
provides the ability to freely choose a color for a swatch. The default
value here is statically #BF4040, but it should be the same as the
swatch's current value. One effect of the way it is now, is difficulty
in adjusting gradually to a suitable color.

[Bug 1069531] Re: Cannot login to Empathy after setting up Google online account

2013-01-22 Thread kimj
I have the same problem. I don't need/like to add a google account, I only
need to use it for empathy.
When adding it to ubuntu-online-accounts as a jabber account, in the format
accountname -AT- gmail.com, empathy can't connect and asks for authentication,
the following message is sent to stderr:

(empathy:8345): folks-WARNING **: Failed to reach quiescence normally (0
backends and 1 persona stores still haven't reached quiescence). Forcing
IndividualAggregator quiescence due to reaching the timeout.

the account works if it's set up as a google account, it works in
pidgin and in empathy running in other distributions which use gnome
online accounts.

I have compiz set so that Super+Button4 and Super+Button5
increase and decrease the opacity of the window under the mouse.
However, I've noticed that since recently, using this will also trigger
the scroll movement on these windows. Previously, the Super key would
prevent scrolling but not anymore.

This happens only in some windows, so I suspect it is not a compiz
problem.

Programs whose windows have problems:
Gedit, Nautilus (for the time being, I can only find these two)

Programs that DO NOT suffer from this problem
I tried many, including: Evince, Chrome, Eclipse, Acrobat reader,
gnome-terminal, ccsm

No offense, but this is ridiculous. You cannot close a bug saying RTFM
and come back later! And you have all the info you need: start up
Ubuntu, plug in any USB sound card and, presto, there's your bug. I
would have attached a crash file myself but it is not generated. The
sound settings dialog just disappears. without a trace.

[Bug 1102707] Re: New Standard - Need to add Multi-Graph View with Disk Monitoring

2013-01-22 Thread Lonnie Lee Best
** Description changed:

Windows 8 has raised the bar when it comes to the default application
an operating system provides for monitoring your system.

In the attached screen shot, you'll see that not only do I get a large
graph for the thumbnail I've selected (on the left), but each thumbnail
provides (in itself) a real-time graph of the stats I'd normally have to
do additional steps to see in other operating systems.

This is awesome, because in one window you can see what is bottle-
necking your system (Processor, Disk Read/Write, Network Speed, Ram,
etc) at any given point in time (real time).

Often, the hard drive is what is bottle-necking tasks you are trying to
accomplish, however Gnome-System-Monitor doesn't provide monitoring for
  this aspect of system monitoring.

I'm a big time Linux fan here, but when I see something that's awesome
somewhere else, I fell compelled to report it

I'd like to see our default system monitor be as complete: providing
disk-transfer-utilization stats, and allowing us to see all graphs a
  once.
+
+ Be sure to see the attachment below!

[Bug 1103183] [NEW] gedit does not start from gnome-shell files search in activities overview

2013-01-22 Thread Aaron Brubacher
Public bug reported:

System: Ubuntu 12.10 x64, gnome-shell 3.6.2, nautilus 3.6.3 compiled with
--enable-tracker=yes, Tracker 0.14.1,
gnome-documents not installed

Steps to reproduce:
-Make sure gedit is not running (killall gedit), or login in to freshly started
computer.
-open activities overview
-search for any plain text file and open it under the FILES heading
Expected behavior: file opens in gedit
Actual behavior: loading icon appears in top panel, but program never opens.
ps aux | grep gedit shows that the process is there. Opening a file a second
time from the Activities Overview works. Closing gedit and trying again results
in same behaviour.

[Bug 1034609] Re: Palimpsest warns about misalignment of extended partition

2013-01-22 Thread Garry Trethewey
+1

WARNING: The partition is misaligned by bytes. This may result in
very poor performance. Repartitioning is suggested.

On a 1TB SATA disk I used gparted to set up the following

Partition
100GB NTFS
70TB Ext3
2TB swap
828GB extended

Used Disk Utility to delete all, then used Disk Utility to repartition,
got

Partition
100GB NTFS 512
70TB Ext3 1024
2TB swap2048
828GB extended 512

any ideas?

[Bug 1103222] [NEW] Time zone location can't find certain cities

2013-01-22 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Go to system settings Time and Date Clock tick 'Time in other locations'
Click 'Choose Locations...'
Click the green plus to add a location and then try putting in Hong Kong
Wait a second for it to give you the options to select from
Notice that Hong Kong, China does not appear and is not selectable at all and
you have to select one of the options it gives you. It only gives you the
option to select Hong Kong in Guyana

i.e. You can't select the real Hong Kong as a location. No doubt it has
problems for other locations...
