[Bug 1128951] [NEW] Battery status indicator blinking when near fully charged
Public bug reported: As you should expect by now, I have no idea if gnome-power-manager is the package used by unity. I'm using a Lenovo W510 notebook, when the battery is nearly fully charged the battery status indicator flips between a battery graphic alone and a battery graphic displaying a charge percentage which is wider. This leads to a nagging sense that I'm receiving an email and general feeling of discontent, much like looting the north west airfield in DayZ. I suspect the cause is that the battery pulse charges up the last 5% or so and the monitor is seeing the charging status changing from idle to charging repeatedly. Perhaps there should be a ride-through period, only change the displayed status if it remains stable for 1 minute. [Bug 1053783] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 - Stalled shutdown after having had KAlarm opened; with package info.
Answer to Bladud (#10 + #12) I have tried to run the command ps -el | grep nepomuk as long as possible after the shutdown command (given with the GUI logout button) using a BASH function giving that command every 2 sec and saving the results in a file. After 20-30 sec. the termninal window disappears and the function stops. I don't find differences in the result just before giving the logout command and during these seconds hanging. I have performed the test twice, once with the nepomuk functions working and programmed to start in the next logon, and once after I had prevented the starting of some nepomuk services at start-up (see #6). Surprisingly the results of these two tests differed slightly. [Bug 1129144] [NEW] Background can not be clicked in Nautilus 3.6.3, in listview mode
Public bug reported: In listview mode, Nautilus does not allow clicking on background, when browsing a folder with more files than a single page. This must be classified as a bug because: 1. Background click is necessary to unselect a file; 2. Background click is available in iconview mode, so it is a doubtful behavior; 3. Users are accustomed to access context menu right clicking background in order to create folder, share folder, create file, etc. Furthermore, it is a kind of regression, since this error has been corrected in a earlier version. [Bug 872885] Re: Synaptics touchpad randomly stops working
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 868400 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/868400 I'm not convinced that this is a duplicate of Bug #868400: Synaptics touchpad stops working - two syndaemon instances running. since I do not have two instances running that I can find (ps -ef doesn't show 2). Things I have noticed, though: - I don't know that it's 100%, but it's much more frequent when Disable mouse when typing is set. This is my usual setting on boot since I use a USB mouse most of the time specifically because of this problem. - It acts as if the touchpad is locked into some gesture state. In particular, when the mouse won't move, instead a one finger gesture on the touchpad results in TWO-finger vertical scrolling. I.e., as if it thought it was still in two finger mode when I'm only using one finger. (Was state saved/not cleared when the touchpad was enabled/disabled?) I've had other cases where some motion seemed to reset it to a known good and working state, but not reliably. But it looks like a state- holdover somewhere to me. - The touchpad isn't off -- it is clearly responding and scrolling -- although it should be interpreting a single finger gesture to move the mouse, not to scroll as it is doing. - I'm not positive about this, but I think I even had enable mouse clicks by touchpad set one time, and when in the bad state, it would not respond to mouseclicks either. This is Ubuntu Desktop 32-bit, 12.04 and up to date as of 02/18/2013, on Asus 1215N netbook. The only odd thing about the install is this is the Nvidia Optimus graphics, so I have both Jupiter and Bumblebee installed, but only to disable the fast graphics Nvidia card (using Intel only) to save on battery and heat. Settings are: - Disable touchpad while typing - Enable 2 finger (vertical) scrolling - Speeds set all the way to left (slow) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/872885 Title: Synaptics touchpad randomly stops working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/872885/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Opening any application over gimp will make gimp disappear, and never reappear.. chrome was what I had open at the time as an example. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gimp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1096485 Title: Gimp disappears after switching or opening another application To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/1096485/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1129818] [NEW] Yelp cannot find man page anymore
Public bug reported: Before migrating to Ubuntu Precise LTS, I was running Ubuntu Maverick. On Ubuntu Maverick, typing the name of a command which was given a man page, opened than manpage. On Ubuntu Precise, it does not work any more. The same if in the search field, I type `man:command`. Finally, Yelp is able to find the man page only if it was requested to from a command line, like in `yelp man:command`. I using Yelp a lot on Ubuntu Maverick, and I'm not using it any more on Ubuntu Precise, due to that it may tell you a documentation on a topic does not exist, while it exists. I also sometime get errors about XML or XSLT, don't remember, but that will be for another but report. [Bug 1035431] Re: bluetooh-wizard failed to connect to a keyboard
Glad it worked for you guys! I use the keyboard when I am lying in bed at night using my computer on my TV, and I only run linux on my devices so I am relieved it works (especially seeming it cost me about $150 in Australia for the keyboard and $30 for the Bluetooth adapter). Does anyone more adept at Linux know why this fails to connect on the GUI; it seems it fails in Ubuntu Redhat from what I have seen so far (basically gnome-bluetooth). On a side note, if you want to make the Fn keys work without hitting the Fn button (useful for switching terminal windows etc if you have command line based system or setting up, stops you accidently 'changing devices' while looking for the F1, F2, F3 key), read, download and compile this: http://www.trial-n-error.de/posts/2012/12/31/logitech-k810-keyboard-configurator/ http://www.trial-n-error.de/static/articles/k810/k810_conf-v0.1.tar.bz2 I had to change line 59 from: printf(write: %d were written instead of %ld.\n, res, len); to: printf(write: %d were written instead of %d.\n, res, len); to get it to compile properly. Then just set it up to run everytime on bootup and your Fn keys act like normal. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-bluetooth in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1035431 Title: bluetooh-wizard failed to connect to a keyboard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-bluetooth/+bug/1035431/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
