[Bug 775117] Re: Thunar hangs on first launch of each session

[Bug 588034] Re: Recording time is wrong - 60:0 to 60:59 min. shown as 0:00 to 0:59
I don't know if this is related, but there's another mighty ugly elapsed time bug with this version. I'm running the same specs as on this bug report header. It can't count right. I'm serious. Bring up the applet to adjust the time/date so that you can see the seconds tick by. Start recording (I did mp3) and note the difference in the elapsed time and date/time clocks. After a few minutes you'll see the program's elapsed time get a second ahead and it keeps going. Record 8 hours worth of stuff and it's waaay off. This about drove me insane as I was righting a Python program to read a video captions file (srt) and read the captions using espeak at the correct times, while recording with GMR. I kept staring at the logic, trying to figure out how it could be getting slower and slower...until I realized that GMR was counting too fast! Oh, for the good old days when the stability of a package was inversely proportional to the version number. This reminds me of bug #45008. Just here, LOCAL_EIGHT_LEVEL does not preserve Control. [Bug 1096339] Re: Application does not remember it's previous windowed state
I'm currently getting this issue with an up-to-date stable version of 12.10. If I maximise the window it maximises fine but when I close and reopen it, it is fullscreen but with window decoration rather than integrating with the panel. Furthermore if I try to get it to boot it up in a specific workspace using windows with fixed viewport in CompizConfig Settings Manager it doesn't move from the primary workspace. Steam for Linux has the same problem with maximising windows although it is only obvious in the workspace switcher and also doesn't move with fixed viewport places. [Bug 1130722] Re: Change nautilus menu layout in Unity back to the style of 3.4
** Description changed: When fixing this bug, also take a look at bug #1131664 at the same time if possible. In Nautilus 3.6, introduced in raring, the menu layout was changed from the traditional all-entries-in-one-menubar to: * an application menu called "Files" in the Unity menu bar * a view menu has moved to some toolbar buttons and a dropdown under an arrow in the upper right of a window * all other menu items have moved to a cog button dropdown in the upper right of a window For Unity, we should probably switch back to the more traditional layout (and keep the new layout for GNOME). I'll assign an Ayatana task to get design guidance on what the layout should be. Desired resolution: - Remove the 'cog' icon from the top right of the Nautilus toolbar. Move the view and search buttons over to the right, so that the right most view button occupies the position which previously held the cog button. - Patch Nautilus to have the following menu layout: === File === New Window New Tab - Connect to Server Enter Location - Create New Folder Create New Document> - Properties Restore Missing Files... Ubuntu One - Close === Edit=== Undo Redo - Select All Select Items Matching... Invert Selection - Cut Copy Paste - Preferences === View === Zoom In Zoom Out Normal Size - Reload - Icons List - Compact By Name By Size By Type By Modification Date - Reversed Order - Show Sidebar Show Location Bar text / Hide Location Bar text - Reset View to Defaults - Show Hidden files + Show Hidden Files === Go === Open Parent Back Forward - Location... [Bug 1131664] Re: Patch the menus of the 'Calculator' and 'System Settings' apps to fit with Unity
For System Settings, I'm not sure Help>Contents is what we want. For GNOME-provided panels, the Help button points to more specific help if available. [Bug 1130722] Re: Change nautilus menu layout in Unity back to the style of 3.4
** Description changed: + When fixing this bug, also take a look at bug #1131664 at the same time + if possible. + + + In Nautilus 3.6, introduced in raring, the menu layout was changed from the traditional all-entries-in-one-menubar to: * an application menu called "Files" in the Unity menu bar * a view menu has moved to some toolbar buttons and a dropdown under an arrow in the upper right of a window * all other menu items have moved to a cog button dropdown in the upper right of a window For Unity, we should probably switch back to the more traditional layout (and keep the new layout for GNOME). Documentation about this interface can be seen at: http://www.lanedo.com/~aleksander/modem-manager/api-20121005/api/ref-dbus.html In order to ease the integration of the new ModemManager, headers with enums/error definitions are also available: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/ModemManager/ModemManager/tree/include There's also a new 'libmm-glib', which helps to integrate ModemManager in glib-based applications, although not sure if this is really desirable here: http://www.lanedo.com/~aleksander/modem-manager/api-20121005/libmm-glib/ Some basic hints: * NetworkManager will expose Modems handled by the new ModemManager with a UDI prefixed with "/org/freedesktop/ModemManager1/Modem/". * SIMs are exposed as independent DBus objects. You'll need to get the SIM object path, if any, from the 'Modem' interface. PIN unlocking is done directly in the SIM interface of the SIM object. * Both 3GPP (a.k.a. GSM) and 3GPP2 (a.k.a. CDMA) modems are now handled in the same way. The new ModemManager exposes in 'CurrentCapabilities' in the modem interface which capabilities are supported. It is expected to have modems which are both 3GPP and 3GPP2 (e.g. LTE+CDMA modems). * For connecting/disconnecting, using the Simple interface is still the simplest way for now. The new ModemManager can handle multiple data bearer configurations if directly playing with creating bearer objects and connecting them independently (the Simple interface can't do that yet). * DBus interfaces are dynamic. E.g. a modem exposing the Messaging interface will have messaging (SMS) capabilities, otherwise the interface won't be exposed. * When a modem is non yet PIN-unlocked, only the Modem interface and the SIM object will be available. Reproducible: Always Can be tested with latest git master for both NetworkManager and ModemManager.
