[Bug 1114406] Re: Gtk.TreeModelSort does not init properly
Do we have any package in Ubuntu 12.04 which is broken by this? For application developers there is always the better way of calling Gtk.TreeModelSort(model=your_model) or Gtk.TreeModelSort.new_with_model(your_model), both of which are the official API. The new override in Quantal is merely a workaround to provide backwards compatibility to the old pygtk, but is not the API as offered by introspection or GTK. ** Changed in: pygobject (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to pygobject in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1114406 Title: Gtk.TreeModelSort does not init properly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pygobject/+bug/1114406/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Yeah, we simply ran out of time on this for 0.9.8; but it will be cherry-picked to 0.9.8.2. [Bug 984785] Re: .goutputstream files polluting $HOME
As reported before, all the “.goutputstream-xx” files are temporary files that GLib uses in file write activities. However, these buffer files aren't deleted when an operation was cancelled. Currently, a fix was committed for this bug (see #104). Now, let's focus on the other part of the problem. On every session close, LightDM needs to clean ~/.Xauthority. According to #28, there can be lines in .Xauthority that shouldn't be erased, though the last line seems to stand for the current session and should be deleted when the session is closed. I don't know well how it works, but some process (most likely XAuth) is called to remove the last cookie of .Xauthority. It works fine when you only close your session, but when you shutdown from an open session, it looks like LightDM doesn't take time to close it properly before shutting the whole system down. o_O That results in a “.goutputstream-xx” containing all the ”permanent” cookies of .Xauthority. If you delete .Xauthority, these permanent cookies will disappear, so you will only get null-sized “.goutputstream-xx”... and a much lighter .Xauthority on next reboot. ;-) And it seems to cause no other problems, according to http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?pid=11588001#p11588001 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to glib2.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/984785 Title: .goutputstream files polluting $HOME To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/glib/+bug/984785/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thanks for your bug report but please don't open a bug affecting lot of components like that: - those are not the same issue, they are similar issues on different component. [Bug 1116449] Re: Aim/Jabber/Salut/Yahoo plugins broken
I seem to have no hang issues if I don't add an XMPP account. After adding only AIM, Yahoo and MSN accounts, I can use pidgin, close pidgin and relaunch pidgin without issue. After adding an XMPP account, I can use the account until I close and relaunch pidgin, at which point, I get the crash. Even tried to use finch and the behaviour seems the same. Looks like it's with the XMPP connection routines / libs, at least for me. I'll try and get stack traces and whatnot when I have a bit more time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1116449 Title: Aim/Jabber/Salut/Yahoo plugins broken To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/1116449/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1135255] [NEW] nautilus global menubar menu disapears after running for about 6 days
Public bug reported: After starting and logging in to unity3D desktop everything is fine. After running for about 6 days or so, clicking on the nautilus icon in the unity menu bar on the left opens the file manager as expected. However when going to the nautilus global menu on the top panel, the menus are gone and are replaced with a dark brown stub. See attached screenshot. The only way I know how to get the menus back is by logging out and then back in again. Eager to cooperate in solving this annoying bug. [Bug 1135297] [NEW] Connection times out when transferring 2 GB+ of data across network.
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 13.04 64 bit, February 27th daily image. I installed this same ISO on my laptop and desktop. On both of them if I copy at least 2 GB of data over the network to a different location, they lock up right around the 2 GB mark. The transfer stops and eventually I get an error citing that the connection timed out. Whenever this happens it seems as if I have to restart to regain network connectivity. At first I thought this was a Nautilus or Samba thing, as it first surfaced when I was pushing about 10 GB of data from my 13.04 desktop to my 12.04 Ubuntu Server. However, I tried this using rsync over SSH and it did the same thing, indicating it's not likely a Nautilus or Samba issue. I also thought it was the hardware of my desktop, but like I said, I tried my laptop over wireless and it did the same exact thing. I've seen it happen when the file transfer gets to 2.0 GB or 2.3 GB. Somewhere in there is when I've seen the error pop up. I ran dmesg on my desktop after this happened. I was spamming dmesg as the data was being pushed over the network and I was getting the same output each time, but the second the issue popped up is when the list of DMA entries popped up.
