[Bug 1153488] [NEW] System reads Apple Magic Mouse (BT) as a Battery

2013-03-11 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

This is a weird one... the system is an HP Pavilion 23 All In One and is
powered by a large power supply brick.

I currently have an Apple Magic Mouse connected via Bluetooth. As soon
as the mouse is connected, the Battery indicator shows up and clicking
on that shows that the system is reading my mouse as a battery!

See the attached screen shot for what I see in the Power status.

Looking at hcitool:
ubuntu@201206-11396:~$ hcitool dev
Devices:
hci09C:B7:0D:80:71:DB

To make matters even more weird, I actually observed the battery
indicator go from full to Critically Low and the system suspended
itself. Keep in mind, again, that this system has NO battery, it's
reading my bluetooth mouse as a battery device.

I disconnected the magic mouse and the battery indicator went to Empty
Red outline and status showed Battery Disconnected.

[Bug 1153517] [NEW] evince does not save filled PDF forms

2013-03-11 Thread Till Kamppeter
Public bug reported:

This looks very similar to bug 153428, but it does not seem to be
exactly the same.

I am on Raring and open the attached PDF file with a form. I can fill in
the form without problems, but if I want to save the form (there is only
Save a copy ... not Save, as already complained about in bug 153428)
I get the error message

The file could not be saved as
Document is encrypted

The issuer of the form has explicitly allowed to save the filled form.
Adobe Reader on 32-bit Precise saves it without problems and with the
filled fields (and I can load the saved form with evince on my Raring
box and print it with the filled data).

[Bug 1153295] Re: gnome-control-center not have proper errors message

2013-03-11 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

2013-03-11 Thread Nelly
This bug is also regsitrated as
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/1048657
It is not solved there.

I have the same problem.
I am using Ubuntu 12.04 and Gimp 2.6.12

A new GIMP image can be save under a given name with save as. When I try to
save an already named file under a new name with save as, GIMP crashes. The
file is saved under the new name before crash, and can be opened again and can
be edited.
If I use save as, but do not change the name, no crash occurs.

[Bug 1153567] [NEW] [FFE] Use systemd-services rather than ubuntu-system-service systemdcompatibility code

2013-03-11 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Public bug reported:

The topic was discussed at UDS and work recorded in that spec:
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/desktop-r-ubuntu-system-services

The transition is ready and tested in the desktop team ppa at the
moment, it impacts on those sources:

 * systemd
- needs systemd-services MIRed, that's bug #1152187

 * gnome-settings-daemon and gnome-control-center:
- basically drop the revert-git-commits patches we carry at the moment (those
patches make g-s-d ships a custom helper code and g-c-c uses that interface)

*  indicator-datetime
- use the systemd interface
https://code.launchpad.net/~desrt/indicator-datetime/timedated/+merge/151560

* ubuntu-system-service
- drops the code that was added to emulate some of the systemd interfaces

[Bug 1153567] Re: [FFE] Use systemd-services rather than ubuntu-system-service systemdcompatibility code

2013-03-11 Thread Scott Kitterman
Why was this not landed before feature freeze? One attribute of the
development schedule this cycle is that we move feature freeze later in
the cycle so that people could get work done before hand with the
understanding that we would not generally approve things that didn't
make it.

[Bug 1153567] Re: [FFE] Use systemd-services rather than ubuntu-system-service systemdcompatibility code

2013-03-11 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Why was this not landed before feature freeze?

Trying to summarize the reasons:
- systemd being packaged was a pre-required to start this work, that took most
of the cycle (Steve who was working on that is quite busy...)
- we looked at doing the migration then, put things in a ppa for testing and
ran into a few issues, it took a week or so to get those sorted
- vUDS happened then, which distracted us from looking at landing things
- systemd's MIR has not been approved yet (admitelly it was written late to
make the feature freeze)

Short summary: systemd took a while to land in raring and then the
recent discussions made hard to focus on landing our work on time...

Did you even read the report Bilal?, there you'll find the steps to
reproduce it one by one, you should stop marking bugs as Incomplete |
Invalid just for the sake of triaging.

Anyway the ping made me retry the steps and the bug has just changed
from leaving the window empty to getting back to the main menu of the
Online Accounts app, which btw is where the bug lives, I got the
package wrong. I'm marking this bug as duplicate of bug #1129697 which
as been marked as confirmed.

[Bug 1153646] [NEW] Wrong translation conveyance-Vermittlung

2013-03-11 Thread Rüdiger Kupper
Public bug reported:

In the German translation of gnome-disk-utility, the word conveyance (from
the SMART conveyance self test) is translated Vermittlung, which is

further into why but hopefully this can be followed up with someone with more

[Bug 1130158] Re: Add 'legal notice' to System Settings/Details panel

2013-03-11 Thread Sebastien Bacher
I'm attaching a working patch, the GtkLinkButton widget are not aligned
with the text and look weird and the file needs to be installed on disk
for that to work.

Not sure I like this approch though but the other option would be to use
webkit which I'm not sure I like better... GTK has simply no good way to
render a simple html file like that :-(

[Bug 1100320] Re: Annotation Font-Color is unreadable in Evince

2013-03-11 Thread TheGhost
What about Quantal ? I filed the bug originally for 12.10. It seems
fixed for 12.04 + 13.04. But Quantal is also supported until April 2014.

[Bug 951585] Re: gvfsd-afp consumes 100% of processor cycles

2013-03-11 Thread Rahmanc
Also happens for me under a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.10 x64 (Quetzal)
connecting to my MacBook running OS 10.7 (Lion). Even after all file
transfer or browsing activity has stopped, both processors are pegged at
100% until I unmount the share. The last time it happened, I couldn't
get the share to unmount and had to force-quit gvfs.

[Bug 1100320] Re: Annotation Font-Color is unreadable in Evince

2013-03-11 Thread Sebastien Bacher
quantal is a nonLTS and we tend to fix only a limited of cosmetic issues
on those, due to manpower limitation (you are welcome to help though if
you really care about that issue to be fixed in quantal)
