[Bug 1007691] Re: Simulated Secondary click sometimes stops working after reboot even though it's still enabled

2013-04-03 Thread A.Tim
This bug also affects me. The Simulated Secondary Click tick bBadCursor
(invalid Cursor parameter)ox is checked, but after each restart, the
option fails to function. Clicking and holding performs as if the option
was turned off, even though it clearly is on in the panel.

I am attaching my .xsession-errors as well.

This runs python unityquantal.py, but this isn't anything which we

[Bug 792227] Re: opening more than one file in gedit causes cursor to spin for a period of time

2013-04-03 Thread RDSheets
Happens when opening a file from Nautilus or Nemo in 12.04. To me so far
it just happens with gedit or file viewer (eye of gnome). Changing or
removing the StartupNotify line in the .desktop file makes no
difference. Cursor will spin for exactly 15 seconds (I have timed it
more than once). I've searched all over and no one knows how to fix this
problem.

[Bug 1162466] Re: GDM wont start on Ubuntu GNOME using Gnome3 ppa

2013-04-03 Thread Stinger
Re.
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2129554page=2p=12585881#post12585881

I tried what you suggested, installing ubuntu-gnome-desktop, but it gave me
ubuntu-gnome-desktop is already the newest version so that's not the problem.
Tried booting in rescue mode with failsafe X but still got the blue blinds with
only the mouse cursor, so it's not related to the ati driver either.

But I think I nailed the sucker due to this post:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2131890p=12586232#post12586232

gnome-shell version gives me 3.6.3.1 (should have been 3.8.0 something)
gdm version gives me 3.8.0

I installed apt-show-version and ran 'sudo apt-show-version gnome-shell' ,
it said gnome-shell was upgradeable from 3.6.3.1 to 3.8.0.1
I tried 'sudo apt-get upgrade gnome-shell' and got 0 upgraded and 29 packages
held back

So due to some odd dependency gnome-shell and 28 other packages are not
upgraded when upgrading Ubuntu-GNOME to 3.8 using the Gnome3 ppa,
leaving gnome-shell at version 3.6.3.1 and gdm at version 3.8.0 (earlier
at 3.7.90) and the two packages, and maybe more, are conflicting,
causing gnome-shell to crash in my case.

I would appreciate a possible folder-structure because I have quite some FTP

grouping per factory would simplify my work quite a bit!

[Bug 1164016] [NEW] restore type-ahead find

2013-04-03 Thread Adam Dingle
Public bug reported:

GNOME removed type-ahead find in Nautilus 3.6, not without controversy:

https://mail.gnome.org/archives/nautilus-list/2012-August/msg2.html

Now when you type in a Nautilus window, Nautilus immediately performs a
search in the current directory and all its subdirectories. I
personally find this annoying. If I want to search, I'll click the
search icon. Often I'm looking at a long directory listing and simply
want to jump to a certain point in it, and type-ahead find works great
for that.

Would Ubuntu consider patching type-ahead find back in?

[Bug 627195] Re: Window management - Apps raised from indicators sometimes dont have the focus

2013-04-03 Thread Treviño
** Description changed:

  Ubuntu 11.10 beta
  compiz 1:0.9.5.94+bzr2803-0ubuntu5
  unity 4.16.0-0ubuntu1

  1. open banshee, start a song in it and minimize
  2. open another application lets say gnome-terminal
  3. click on the sound menu and select banshee

  What happens
banshee icon in the launcher wiggles and banshee main window is not shown

  What should happen
banshee main window should come to focus

This is a long standing bug which Ted Gould thinks should be fixed at
  window manager's level.

  Some other observations=
  The problem wont happen
  1. if every other app is minimized or
  2. Banshee is the only opened app or
  3. after opening gnome-terminal, banshee window is closed so that it hides to
the SoundMenu and opened again

  =Comment from Ted Gould=
om26er tedg, Hi! any thoughts on the long standing bug 627195 ? Its been
there before unity so I guess we can conclude unity not to be responsible

tedg om26er, My thought is that window managers should $%#$ get
fixed... though I haven't convinced smspillaz of it yet.

  =The good rule=
- Indicator-session should present the players windows by passing to them the
timestamp of the menu item activation event.
- Unfortunately this is not trival as it sounds, since it needs a change to the
MPRIS dbus specification.

should too.

2013-04-03 Thread Philip Wyett

to address book.
* Confirm the details for the addition.
* Next clcik on the 'Contacts' button below the mesage folders list in the main
evolution window.

What happens:

[Bug 1163323] Re: Ubuntu 15px T rendered as bold S

2013-04-03 Thread Nobuto MURATA
I have experienced quite similar symptom in mid-session on my precise machine,
my case is for Japanese characters.
If it happens, `fc-cache -fv` or `unity --replace`` does not recover it, I had
to restart X session.

I have this issue after installing xserver-xorg-lts-quantal on precise,
and going back to xserver-xorg-lts-precise seems to solve it.
