[Bug 988251] Re: Nautilus cut, copy, paste, move and rename options are greyed out and stop working

2013-04-07 Thread JH
It is not related to permissions nor network shares. I have a folder
with some videos recordings. I double click one to open it with VLC,
then when I finish I close VLC, now I want to rename the file, the
rename item is greyed and unclickable, same happens with copy/paste
options, unclickable, but can paste using keyboard shortcuts. I don't
think number of tabs have something to do with this. In my case I can
reproduce always with a folder with video files, play the video, even
for some seconds, and when back to the folder right click menu have the
mentioned items greyed out.

2013-04-07 Thread JH
Ubuntu 12.10 64 bits. Unity session. Compiz defaults. home directory in
separate partition, ext4. Nautilus as file manager. A lot of scripts.
Turtle Hg and RabbitVCS Git. Maybe I should run Nautilus from command
line and see the output when the problem happens.

Public bug reported:

The Synctex plugin is apparently not installed by gedit-plugins. There
is no synctex folder been created in usr/lib/gedit/plugins/ Obviously
the plugin does not appear among the available plugins in gedit

The Synctex plugin appears to be in the package file on launchpad in

[Bug 60448] Re: .xsession-errors file grows out of control saturates disk space

2013-04-07 Thread Joel Whitehouse
This bug locked me out of a server running Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop 64-bit
with the latest updates as of 3/28/2013. I only access this server via
its freenx/ssh daemons. I discovered the insane disk usage by
.xsession-errors.old after my nx client couldn't get past
Authenticated during the login process. Logging in via the console, I
was able to reboot the system twice, which cleared the file. This bug
is still in the wild, performing DOS attacks on unsuspecting sysadmins.

I don't want to lose the log file in case it's needed for debugging.
But can we please keep it from getting this big in the future?

[Bug 1165761] [NEW] Gnome settings keeps resetting my key bindings

2013-04-07 Thread Omega
Public bug reported:

I configure my number pad for desktop switching navigation, but gnome

permanently instead of being constantly reset without my consent.

[Bug 1159931] Re: Evince not rendering Postscript files

2013-04-07 Thread Walter Garcia-Fontes
According the bug upstream this is a problem in ghostscript 9.07 which
is not handling the decimal separator correctly, when it is set locally
as , instead of . by some languages. See:

http://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=693843

A workaround until it is fixed is to set the regional formats of the
language support to a language where the decimal separator is the dot
., for instance English.

[Bug 1165798] [NEW] Asks for caldav password on every login

2013-04-07 Thread Ezra Morris
Public bug reported:

I have a number of caldav calendars in Evolution. When I added them, a
dialog appeared asking for authentication. I entered the password and
selected the option to save it.

However, every time I log in, the same authentication boxes appear, with
the password already completed.

I would expect that after doing this once, it would automatically
attempt to login with the saved password.

[Bug 1165806] [NEW] rename in nautilus needs to go to next line to select last letter

2013-04-07 Thread guillaume le louet
Public bug reported:

When I rename a file with name on several lines it does not let me place the
cursor at the end of a line, I need to put it at the beginning of next line ;
both should be doable.

The problem of that hack is that setlocale might affect other threads
currently running. Do we know which versions exactly are affected by

No clue, i told them on IRC and they said the bug has been there forever, but
it's not since with 9.06 it works, they said they'd fix it but can't find
anything in their git log that says it's been fixed. Going to download and

[Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share

2013-04-07 Thread Sebastian Ilea
I just tried the workaround of manually setting the MTU size.

Ubuntu 13.04 64 bit (up to date; no PPA used).

My test consist in copying my photo archive (average file size 1,5 MB)
from a samba share.

With MTU left on Automatic, the copy hangs sometimes after a few tens
of files, other times after a few hundred files. Same thing using either
WiFi or wired (Ethernet).

I only tried changing MTU size with WiFi.

MTU 700 - nautilus hangs during copy from a samba share

MTU 1000 - nautilus hangs during copy from a samba share

MTU 1500 - first test was promising. 1.220 files copied without
problems. Then I tried with 16.739 files. Copy hanged after only 80
files.

End of test.

Test result: manually setting the MTU size workaround is not a
workaround in my case.

[Bug 1165916] [NEW] Bad Polish translation of the 'Empty document' string

2013-04-07 Thread Vaphell
Public bug reported:

'Empty document' (new documentempty document) is translated as 'Pusty
dokumenty' (adjective is singular, noun is plural), valid Polish translation
would be 'Pusty dokument'. Both right-click context menu and nautilus menus are
affected.
Last few releases have the same bug, while older versions like 10.04 didn't
have that problem. I assume it's a regression introduced during the
gnome2-grome3 transition.

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1165742] Re: Synctex plugin is not installed (raring i386)

2013-04-07 Thread Doug McMahon
The plugins package(s) were built on 13 Nov 2012 while python-dbus-dev
(1.1.1-1ubuntu2) was installed for build maybe not 'good enough' or something
else, as seen in build log -
Disabled plugins: synctex (dbus-python not found)

When doing a package build here locally with current 1.1.1-1ubuntu3
there is no issue with the plugin being built, installed enabled.
(Whether it works right not in a position to tell, that's for someone
else..
