[Bug 1170647] [NEW] Nautilus opens new window instead of restoring the minimized window
Public bug reported: Sometimes left clicking the nautilus launcher icon doesn't bring up a minimized nautilus window. Instead of restoring the window a new instance of nautilus is showing up. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a nautilus window by clicking on the launcher icon. 2. Navigate to a symlinked directory whose target is located on a different harddrive (for example: a symlink to a folder on a sd-card). 3. Minimize the nautilus window. 4. Try to bring up that window again by clicking the launcher icon. What happens: 1. A new instance (window) of nautilus is opened. 2. There's no obvious way to access the first window again. The only way is ALT+TAB. What schould happen: If a nautilus window is already open and minimized clicking the launcher icon should bring up that window. This was the behavior of nautilus windows in Ubuntu 12.10 (quantal). [Bug 1170741] [NEW] Ubuntu does not provide keyboard shortcut to change keyboard layouts by default
Public bug reported: After setting up alternative keyboard layout during installation, or post-install in the System Settings, one can only switch keyboard layouts using the keyboard indicator in the unity panel. One cannot use a keyboard shortcut to change the keyboard layout as none are enabled by default. A very common shortcut to change keyboard layouts is Alt-Shift. And if askubuntu.net is any indicator questions relating to keyboard shortcuts to switch layouts are very popular: http://askubuntu.com/questions/68127/how-to-switch-language-keyboard-combination http://askubuntu.com/questions/34210/toggling-language-with-altshift-doesnt-work And possibly many other similar question. I believe Ubuntu Operating system should provide/enable a keyboard layout switching shortcut by default when more than one keyboard layout is configured. I have tested and Alt-shift works correctly with Unity Hud and Unity Dash, with no conflicts or confusing behaviour (e.g. pressing alt clearly triggers hud, and one can use alt+shift to clearly change layout with or without HUD active). [Bug 1170832] [NEW] Facebook Requires Authorization when already authorized
Public bug reported: I am running fully updated 13.04 64-bit. I simply cannot get empathy/UOA to connect to facebook. When I add the account in UOA everything seems to go well, facebook login page loads, it logs in successfully, facebook recognizes the session as safari on linux; but upon completing the setup in UOA empathy refuses to connect to it and keeps telling me it requires authorization. I've Tried the following: Removing the account from UOA Ending all active sessions on facebook and deleting the ubuntu app rebooting adding account in UOA, and allowing the ubuntu app to manage my messages etc... Didn't help at all. pidgin connects fine on the same computer. Sometimes it does let me add it and it works for a while, but eventually this issue happens again and leaves me totally unable to successfully add a facebook account for quite some time, until it randomly decides it wants to work again. Empathy/UOA in 13.04 has been unreliable to the point of ridiculousness, the application is basically unusable and can't handle the one basic task of an instant messaging program, which is connecting to my accounts reliably. [Bug 1170741] Re: Ubuntu does not provide keyboard shortcut to change keyboard layouts by default
gsettings-desktop-schemas 3.8 uses Super+Space for this keyboard shortcut so I'm reassigning there. [Bug 731775] [NEW] [needs-packaging] systemd
You have been subscribed to a public bug: systemd is a system and service manager for Linux, compatible with SysV and LSB init scripts. systemd provides aggressive parallelization capabilities, uses socket and D-Bus activation for starting services, offers on-demand starting of daemons, keeps track of processes using Linux cgroups, supports snapshotting and restoring of the system state, maintains mount and automount points and implements an elaborate transactional dependency-based service control logic. It can work as a drop-in replacement for sysvinit. http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd I imagine Ubuntu will adopt this sooner or later to replace upstart. ** Affects: systemd (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Status: Fix Released ** Affects: baltix Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: systemd (Debian) Importance: Unknown Status: Fix Released ** Tags: needs-packaging -- [needs-packaging] systemd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/731775 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 731775] Re: [needs-packaging] systemd
I'm going to go ahead and mark this bug fixed. For Ubuntu 13.04, systemd-services (containing hostnamed, localed, and timedated) is installed by default. For 13.10 we expect that logind will also be installed by default. Those services contain much of the user- visible parts of systemd. As for using systemd by itself as the default init, that is WONTFIX for the forseeable future as the Ubuntu Foundations Team use upstart instead. ** Package changed: ubuntu = systemd (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/731775 Title: [needs-packaging] systemd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/731775/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
