[Bug 1185095] Re: Nautilus don't refresh
I stumbled on a fix and increased the systems inotyfy watches by entering the following line to /etc/sysctl.conf: fs.inotify.max_user_watches = 262144 . I believe the default value is about 8000, and the above mentioned increase, with a slim increase in memory usage, cured all problems. [Bug 1186972] [NEW] gedit hangs when opening a second file
Public bug reported: I can open a single file with gedit by right-clicking the file in Nautilus and selecting Open With... Text Editor. If I do the same thing a second time with a different file gedit begins to load the file into a new tab as expected but then hangs before the Loading file progress bar completes. The only way to exit is by clicking the close window button and selecting Force Quit from the '... is not responding' message box. The same thing happens if I load the second file into gedit from the command line or if I load it using gedit's Open button. [Bug 1034609] Re: Palimpsest warns about misalignment of extended partition
I found that it is possible to resolve all non-alignment issues by resizing the problem partitions a bit with gparted, using a live-cd. The only partition where gparted fails to do this, is the FAT16 Dell diagnostics partition. Gparted ends with a numerical error on this (Which have not noted down and the problem machine is no longer with me). The 3 possible ways to see the free disk space are not suitable at all. [Bug 1187203] [NEW] can't set Epiphany as default browser
Public bug reported: I'm running Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy), which has Epiphany 3.6.1. I have Epiphany installed on my system and I'd like to set it as default, but it doesn't show up in the list of browsers to choose from in System Settings-Details-Default Applications-Web. The problem is that /usr/share/applications/epiphany.desktop does not include 'x-scheme-handler/http' in its MimeType list. This MIME type must appear there in order for the control center to recognize this as a Web browser. Note that 'x-scheme-handler/http' *does* appear in epiphany.desktop.in.in in the Epiphany 3.6.1 sources (see https://git.gnome.org/browse/epiphany/tree/data/epiphany.desktop.in.in?h=gnome-3-6). So I believe this is an Ubuntu packaging bug. ** Affects: epiphany-browser (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to epiphany-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1187203 Title: can't set Epiphany as default browser To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/epiphany-browser/+bug/1187203/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1187203] Re: can't set Epiphany as default browser
Ubuntu is mostly in sync with Debian for the epiphany packaging. It looks like Debian has an extra epiphany-newtab.desktop which they moved the http/https handlers to. But because NoDisplay=true is set, System Settings doesn't recognize it. (See the debian/rules.) I did a little testing now and I don't think the epiphany-newtab.desktop does anything that the regular .desktop doesn't do so we can simplify the packaging and fix this bug. ** Changed in: epiphany-browser (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed ** Changed in: epiphany-browser (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to epiphany-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1187203 Title: can't set Epiphany as default browser To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/epiphany-browser/+bug/1187203/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
