[Bug 1153934] Re: Some radio streams which used to play OK don't play after updating to rhythmbox 2.98 or higher due a gvfs bug

2013-06-22 Thread Walter Garcia-Fontes
Jenske, the main reason is that it depends from upstream development in
gvfs, and not from Ubuntu (not that if depended from Ubuntu would be
resolved much faster, but at least we would have somebody around to
ask). In any case I'm still using Rhythmbox daily to hear my preferred
radios using the workaround mentioned in #5 .

[Bug 676637] Re: Wrong aspect ratio with DV AVI files in PiTiVi

2013-06-22 Thread Stefan Nagy
@ madbiologisst: Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Since I didn't need to edit any more videos I didn't keep track of this
bug. I'm working on Debian (Jessie) now and I can't reproduce this bug
anymore with gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg (0.10.13-5) – neither with PiTiVi
0.15.2-0.2 nor with Totem 3.0.1-8.

So I can confirm the comment #7 in the upstream bug report: Seems to
work fine now.

[Bug 1174655] Re: reimplement support for external modules.

2013-06-22 Thread Jeremy Bicha
I believe all of this has been done now in Saucy with two exceptions:

1. activity-log-manager will be fixed in the next release (Privacy panel only
shows in Unity; standalone version will show everywhere but Unity and will be
renamed to something like Privacy Manager to have a different name than GNOME
3.8's new Privacy panel)
2. It looks like the initial indicator-keyboard/ibus work uses GNOME's region
panel so we might not need language-selector to be as visible

Feel free to file individual bugs for any new or remaining issues.

[Bug 761093] [NEW] Unity says Home Folder no matter where I am

2013-06-22 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: nautilus

In Ubuntu Unity, Nautilus shows up as Home Folder in the launcher
(tooltip) and in the panel (application menu) when the window is not
maximized. But if I open it, then go anywhere else in the file system,
it still says Home Folder in both places. It should either say File
Manager, or the name of the folder I'm currently looking at.

Desired resolution:
- The Nautilus icon in the Launcher should always be titled 'File Manager'.

- When a Nautilus window is in the restored state, the global menu
should display 'File Manager' (when a Nautilus window is maximised the
global menu will display the window title).

[Bug 1192744] Re: Zoom Level using the key combination Ctrl++ does not appear to work

2013-06-22 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Thanks for reporting this issue and help making Ubuntu better.

I am unable to reproduce this issue on my Saucy system. The keyboard
shortcuts zoom in and out as expected, even after changing the colors
and background as described.

Have you checked whether the View - Zoom in/out options work? Could you
do that to check whether it is the keyboard shortcuts or zooming all
together which fails to work.

View Zoom in/out works; Ctrl-- also works; Ctrl++ prints '==' on the terminal
instead of zooming in. Same behavior from with in a vm guest session and bare
metal instance. Do we have to explicitly add Ctrl++ shortcut? Did not set up
Ctrl-- it worked out of the box.
Thank you.

[Bug 1191862] Re: highlighting text breaks mousewheel scrolling

2013-06-22 Thread Christopher Shen Mu Long
Sometimes I don't get the mindset here. How come this bug is still marked as
importance - undecided?
Guys! If a desktop environment does not provide a stable email programme, then
it is just unusable(! exclamation mark) on a productive system. I would have
used Gnome 3.6 instead, if there weren't too many conflicts which also made my
system unusable. so I was forced to migrate to 3.8 - where new bugs occur.

[Bug 1021437] Re: gnome settings picks the wrong file in /sys/class/backlight to change the brightness

2013-06-22 Thread MangeChats
I am quite late on this subject, but I found several points that that
may be relevant:

- I have two different laptops that have the same symptoms as descibed here:
one is a Toshiba Satellite T130-11U (more than 3 year old but still working)
the other is a Dell Inspiron 15 3521 (brand new)

- Both are now used with Ubuntu 13.04 32 bits (low memory = I prefer 32 bit
versions).
so I confirm the bug is still present in versions 13.04 ... i386

- on both I noticed that I can read and modify the backlight value,
which allows the scripted modification...

- I am seeking for a more comfortable way to modify it. replacing the standard,
not working key association is
my first idea. I found that the keycodes for lowering/increassing brightness
are respectively 232 and 233.

- I also found that these keycodes are intercepted by gnome-settings-
daemon (google...), but how should it be modified ???

2013-06-22 Thread william fischer
Forgot to mention, this is a fresh install with updates current to 22
Jun 2013. I am using an iPod Nano 5th 8Gb blue. The sync crash hosed my
music on the iPod. I had to re-initialized the iPod (wipe it) just to
get it working again. I still am not able to transfer music as Rhythmbox
keeps crashing.

[Bug 987630] Re: changing brightness freezes computer

2013-06-22 Thread Dave Gilbert
As per comment #7 this looks like a kernel issue so flipping to Linux.
High: System crash on ~critical hardware function

Note I'm not duping it to bug 1007765 since it's kernel, but it might be
appropriate to do so; leave that to the kernel guys.
