[Bug 1206078] [NEW] notifications send multiple times
Public bug reported: When rhythmbox switches to a new song, it sends notifications three times. This happens both with autoplay and manuall skipping to the next track. Using 'notify-send' to trigger a notification only shows the notification once, leading me to believe the problem is with rythmbox rather then the notification service itself. One other thing I noticed. The first two notifications contain the track + album, but no cover art. The last and final notification also contains the cover art. Hi Thomas, sure. Yes, the bug is still reproducible in Precise (gimp 2.6.12-1ubuntu1.2), which is what I'm using on my main desktop. [Bug 1083811] Re: Duplicated panels using separate x screens
Currently fix is availabe only in ubuntu 13.04. :( 1. If you have knowledge how to compile packages from source you could try download source, apply patches, compile and install pached gnome- panel. I can attach patches if needed, just ask. :) 2. You can try download gnome-panel packages from latest ubuntu. I dont know if you will be able to do that, as it may not install because of unmet dependencies. And these packages dosnt include full fix for this bug. You will need to download two packages (Download deb files listed under Downloadable files): gnome-panel (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/raring/amd64/gnome-panel/1:3.6.2-0ubuntu3) gnome-panel-data (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/raring/amd64/gnome-panel-data/1:3.6.2-0ubuntu3) 3. You may try to install packages which is built form upcoming ubuntu 13.10. These packages includes full fix for gnome-panel. You may not be able to install because of dependecies as in previous option. I will try add packages as attachments, if you dont see them I can try send them to your email if you want. To install downloaded packages run - sudo dpkg -i gnome-panel*.deb ** Attachment added: gnome-panel_3.6.2-0ubuntu12_amd64.deb https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/1083811/+attachment/3753762/+files/gnome-panel_3.6.2-0ubuntu12_amd64.deb -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1083811 Title: Duplicated panels using separate x screens To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-panel/+bug/1083811/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1083811] Re: Duplicated panels using separate x screens
Download last two packages I attached - gnome- panel_3.4.1-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb and gnome-panel- data_3.4.1-0ubuntu2_all.deb. Than install - sudo dpkg -i gnome- panel*.deb. I build packages special for ubuntu 12.04 (precise, amd64). Atfer you will install these packages gnome-panel should work fine with separate x screens. :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1083811 Title: Duplicated panels using separate x screens To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-panel/+bug/1083811/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1164016] Re: restore type-ahead find
Dr. Osman, thanks for your patch. A few comments: 1. Of course, this patch does not restore type-ahead find as originally requested in this bug ticket. Instead, it simply disables recursive searching, so that as you type only files in the current directory are returned. Still, this does significantly ease the pain of this upstream change. If Ubuntu can't summon the resources to restore type-ahead find in 13.10, I would recommend landing this patch since it's ultra-simple and does make things less painful. I'd further recommend modifying the patch so that non-recursive search is the default (as it stands, the user must set a GSettings key to disable recursive search, and few users will figure out how to do that). The GSettings key would then let users *enable* recursive search if they really want to. I suspect that few users will. 2. You really should be patching Nautilus 3.8.2, which is the current version of Nautilus in Ubuntu 13.10, where this is most likely to land. (I wouldn't mind seeing this backported to 13.04 either, though.) 3. In the patch, I believe you could simplify this code: if (g_settings_get_boolean (nautilus_preferences, NAUTILUS_PREFERENCES_ENABLE_RECURSIVE_SEARCH)) { g_object_set (simple_provider, recursive, TRUE, NULL);} else { g_object_set (simple_provider, recursive, FALSE, NULL); } to: gboolean recursive = g_settings_get_boolean (nautilus_preferences, NAUTILUS_PREFERENCES_ENABLE_RECURSIVE_SEARCH)); g_object_set(simple_provider, recursive, recursive, NULL); Fewer lines are better. :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1164016 Title: restore type-ahead find To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/1164016/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
