[Bug 1166542] Re: Brasero stalls nomalizing mp3's
There's a bug in the normalisation pipeline since the port to GStreamer 1.0, I'm not entirely certain but I think it may be a GStreamer bug. [Bug 1210209] [NEW] 13.04 huge gvfsd-http memory leak using totem
Public bug reported: On 13.04 with Totem 3.6.3 and gvfs 1.16.1 If I use Totem to view an HD program using the local URL: http://smeagol:80//mythweb/pl/stream/1843/1375919940 then there is a long wait while the file is first loaded into gvfsd-http, then it plays. gvfsd-http process grows to 4.2G (resident since I have 16G ram). If I exit Totem, gvfsd-http is still using 4.2G. If I reopen Totem and play the same file, there is again a considerable wait and the memory size doubles to 8.4G for a short period of time, but then drops back down to 4.2G as the video starts playing. Needless to say the CPU and I/O are throttled during the caching. If I am stupid enough to play a two hour HD movie then I seen my Virt memory hit 17.5G and my resident memory hit 12G. The machine is very sluggish at this point because it is paging 5.5G. Of course stopping Totem does not free up the memory. I can work around the problem by killing the gvfsd-http process. I can also use VLC instead of Totem. ** Affects: gstreamer0.10 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gstreamer0.10 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1210209 Title: 13.04 huge gvfsd-http memory leak using totem To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gstreamer0.10/+bug/1210209/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 536766] Re: Personal file sharing preferences dialog does not offer to install needed packages
This is a rather old bug, but I have been tasked to look into this for 13.10. This bug has mixed in a couple of issues over time. Here is what I believe is the current state and what this bug should really be about. - The bug title references only Personal File Sharing Preferences, but description also references Nautilus as well. I think this bug should only be used to track the issue in Personal File Sharing Preferences. - The Desired resolution posted by Design (John Lea) in the bug description is for Nautilus, but now Nautilus will prompt the user to install needed services when trying to use file sharing. What is in Nautilus now is quite nice, so I'll follow up with John on this. - Back to Personal File Sharing Preferences. Currently (13.10), it still only gives the message that required packages are missing and gives no clue as to what packages are needed or even better, offer to install the needed packages. The needed package is apache2 (and dependencies) because Bluez uses WebDAV to transfer files and WebDAV is provided by apache2. I'm not sure who is responsible for gnome-user-share in Ubuntu, so I'll try poking around to see what can be done about Personal File Sharing Preferences. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-user-share in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/536766 Title: Personal file sharing preferences dialog does not offer to install needed packages To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/536766/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 998156] Re: GTK Print dialog sends broken custom page size attribute: PageSize=Custom.Custom.widthxlength
For several hours I have been attempting to print a JPEG image from GIMP on 4x6 photo paper using an HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One. After adding a custom paper size named Photo Borderless 4x6 in the GIMP print dialog box, each attempt to print the image resulted in CUPS hung with rendering completed, as described earlier by others. I have also attempted to print the image using Eye of Gnome (eog) and Evince with the same result. What work-around exists for a user to simply print an image on 4x6 photo paper, since that paper size is not installed by default in Ubuntu 12.10?
