[Bug 1224423] [NEW] [saucy] gnome-panel does not start automatically on gnome-session-flashback login

2013-09-12 Thread Christian S.
Public bug reported:

The gnome-panel in saucy does not start automatically after login into
gnome-session-flashback resulting in a rather limited desktop experience.
(I blamed the gnome flashback package instead of gnome-panel because it is
possible to launch it manually in flashback mode.)

Steps to reproduce:
- install sauce daily build from 11.9.13
- update system
- install gnome-session-flashback
- logout and login into gnome flashback - no panel

[Bug 1224438] [NEW] Menus on evince black with grey text.

2013-09-12 Thread Santosh Krishnan
Public bug reported:

The evince application's menus do not follow the overall Lubuntu's
default theme. Instead they are black in colour with the menu items in
grey. This contrasts visibly with the rest of the system, and also
because of grey on black, it is very difficult to use.

Incative menu items are in light grey with active ones in darker grey.
Inactive menu items are bolded as well. This makes the user think the
inactive items are active.

[Bug 1224575] [NEW] gnome-control-center keyboard no longer has way to modify caps lock key behavior

2013-09-12 Thread Chris J Arges
Public bug reported:

Up until Raring, it was trivial to use the gnome-control-center to modify caps
lock key behavior.
In earlier versions you could do the following:
 - Launch System Settings
 - Click on Keyboard Layout
 - Click on Options
 - These options allow one to modify Caps Lock Key behavior (for example swap
it with ESC)

In newer versions of Saucy I try to do the following:
  - Launch System Settings
  - Click on Keyboard
  - Click on Layout Settings
  - Cannot find a location similar to these older options

These older 'Keyboard Layout Options' made it very easy to do things
like swaping Caps Lock for ESC which make vim users much happier.

Re: [Bug 1009518] Re: Wacom Penpartner in Ubuntu 12.04 has no pressure sensitivity and no eraser function

2013-09-12 Thread Peterbeter
I am still using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Voyager version) and (now) Gimp 2.8.
But I do not use Penpartner anymore due to incompatibility and/or rather
restricted possibilities.

Regards
Peter

Peterbeter: Which version of GIMP have you used for this report? Was it
GIMP 2.6 or GIMP 2.8? Are you still using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS? Thank you
 for telling us!

 Title:
Wacom Penpartner in Ubuntu 12.04 has no pressure sensitivity and no
   eraser function

Status in “gimp” package in Ubuntu:
   Incomplete

 Bug description:
Wacom Penpartner (Model CT-4505-U) is connected via USB (and recognised
in lsusb command), but has very limited functionality:
No pressure sensitvity available and no eraser functions. The side
button functions of the pen are also not available.

After connecting this Wacom tablet, Ubuntu 12.04 immediatly picks up
this tablet and it´s pen movements, but for graphical purposes the
tablet is almost completely useless due to very restricted
   functionality.

[Bug 408903] Re: Does not handle microphone mute button (KEY_MICMUTE)

2013-09-12 Thread James M. Leddy
right, we still need to change other components, I've tagged the
verification-done because the only piece up for verification at the
moment is libx11 and you verified that one, getting it in updates would
put us one step closer from fixing the issue right?

This is exactly right.

Additionally, this requires a revert of xkeyboard-config that we have in
-proposed. I'm not sure how to work that because this is my first
verification-failed bug, but I assume I can just revert it.

Do you need revert or extra changes? in any case the update is in
precise-updates so you can't verification-failed it anymore (that's just used
to get things dropped from proposed/not copied to updates), you need another
upload on top of the current version

This is in relation to bug #937822. Since that bug is verification-
failed, we pulled the update of xkeyboard-config from the -proposed
archive. But it's still living out in the launchpad bzr code archive. So
specifically, my question is whether I should branch from the -updates
lp archive or the -proposed lp archive (and pull the patch, as I have
have done). I've ran into this situation before in bug 1011073 but
cyphermox solved it for me. Sorry if this is too much minutia.

[Bug 968268] Re: Cannot permanently add wallpaper to 'Pictures Folder'

2013-09-12 Thread Jan Greeff
The South African Ubuntu community came up with the solution in quick
time - simply find the images that you want to remove in your Home
folder and delete them there, then add the ones that you want to remain
in the desktop background pics folder to your Home folder. Presto!
Problem solved.

[Bug 1224732] [NEW] Custom keyboard shortcuts don't work

2013-09-12 Thread Edwin Pujols
Public bug reported:

Just noticed that adding custom keyboard shortcuts does not have any
effect. If, for example, I add a custom keyboard shortcut for Evince and
set it to Ctrl+Alt+E, pressing this key combination won't launch Evince.

* What happens *
When I add a custom keyboard shortcut (and bind it to some key combination),
the shortcut does not run the associated command.

* What I expect *
After adding the custom shortcut, I expect that the shortcut launches the
associated command.

[Bug 792085] Re: Automatic remount of safely removed drive

2013-09-12 Thread miusang
The same bug for me in Ubuntu 12.04.

Only eSATA port works. The other USB ports don't work at all.

The laptop I just bought last year meet the bug but the old PC in my home
doesn't come across the bug.
After my time-consuming reflection, I suspect that the reason may be due to
the problem in nautilus dealing with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 port.

The nautilus doesn't deal well with USB 3.0 but deal well with USB 2.0.
