[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.
Thank you for your work, William! I installed packages from ppa:attente/modifier-only-input-switch and now: * default Super+Space, Ctrl, Shift works; * non-latin shortcuts work normally; *Ctrl+Shift+C/V, in gnome-terminal work too; in Unity session. But there is a regression. I can't switch keyboard layouts in GNOME FlashBack and GNOME FlashBack (without effects) sessions. I do rm -rf ~/.* on each update of packages (I have clean Ubuntu 13.10 system only for testing), so I hope that my result is reliable. But this need confirmation from other users. [Bug 1247621] Re: Cannot type in evince search field in Ubuntu 13.10
I have found a workaround, although it is a bit of a pain to do every time. If I right-click in the search bar and select a different Input Method then I can type and find works as expected. Whenever evince is opened the input method always already selected is: System (IBus (Intelligent Input Bus)) If I select something else from the list, including None, Simple or X Input Method then I can type. If I select System (IBus) then I can't type again. So the problem seems to be related to this in some way. If I try the same thing in gedit then I find I can type with System (IBus) selected without any problems. Evince is the only thing I have seen this behaviour in so far. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1247621 Title: Cannot type in evince search field in Ubuntu 13.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1247621/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1245468]
I am closing this bug report Last few posted crashes are unrelated to oxygen-gtk: they are libgobject. I guess it is just someone pushing the submit report button. So that it brings no new information (besides java coredumps also have very little information to start with) finally, - none of the oxygen-gtk devevloppers are able to reproduce the crash, - The original (oxygen-gtk related) has been said to be fixed after some update (and was likely upstream too). To the others, sorry for the frustration This should be reported to either - glib - your distribution -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to glib2.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1245468 Title: libglib2.0-0 (2.38.0-1ubuntu1) causes eclipse/swt to crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/glib/+bug/1245468/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1245468]
Dear Hugo, thank you for your prompt response. Notice that I've reported the bug to (a) the distribution and (b) eclipse. Just to be very explicit: The bug _only_ occurs with the oxygen-gtk2 theme. If I use the 'Radiance' theme, everything is all right. Please also notice that a java crash dump does contain many information that are of significance for C/C++ developers, including a (symbolic) trace to the root problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to glib2.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1245468 Title: libglib2.0-0 (2.38.0-1ubuntu1) causes eclipse/swt to crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/glib/+bug/1245468/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1245468]
Well: - the fact that it happens in oxygen-gtk does not mean it is an oxygen-gtk bug: just means the code path followed by oxygen-gtk triggers a bug that can be anywhere in the chain - nowhere in the core dump, as far as I can tell, is oxygen-gtk mentionned. (sorry in advance if I missed it). (nor are there any function calls mentioned, nor line numbers) I at least, do not know how to use this report to go and actually debug the code.

[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.
Hi William hmm. it seems its the one, which is crashed at startup Tried to run manually and got: vladest@vladest-Aspire-V3-771:~/Pictures$ gnome-settings-daemon (gnome-settings-daemon:5755): Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 190 error_code 8 request_code 140 minor_code 30) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped) can it be caused some wrong settings? if yes, which setting file to kill? thanks -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1218322 Title: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc. To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1218322/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1072518] Re: Restarting network crashes (apparently) the desktop manager
The issue is not a desktop/unity/gnome-settings-daemon/... one, restarting the network that way shouldn't be down (it takes down the dbus system bus which makes basically most modern softwares unhappy).
