[Bug 1243806] Re: Folder names in Location area keeps the width (13.10)
#1243659 is not a bug, it's a wanted upstream change ... dragging over a folder enter this one to let you browse subdirectories I should not talk about it here but nobody talk about this so I am describing here. If that's not a bug then the spec is wrong. Have you ever tried to move a file at bottom of folder that contains at least 20 or 30 folders, to a folder that is located at top? If we move slowly, it defenetly would be caught by a folder on the way. When it has to be scrolled, it is impossible to reach there. I am not trying to play a game. This is very tricky to avoid the problem. If you release nautilus as a game, it would be great because it is very difficult. Right now, I have to open the target folder as a new tub then I can move a file to the folder tab because I can move a mouse fast enough or it would not require scroll. The many new specs seem to be completely wrong. One of the major wrong thing was that tree view has gone. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1243806 Title: Folder names in Location area keeps the width (13.10) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/1243806/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1226962] Re: Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout in 13.10
I just want to share a workaround which I've found on several russian forums. 1. Let you have cleanly installed 13.10. You might want to add some additional keyboard layouts if you didn't do that during the installation. For me, there are RU and EN layouts. 2. English layout must be the first one in the list. You won't use system layout switcher, so it always be shown in English. You can disable the icon and the layout changing keyboard shortcuts if you know how. 3. Install gxneur. You, probably, can use the default repo, but I didn't try that and prefered to use Andrew's own ppa: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:andrew-crew-kuznetsov/xneur-unstable sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install xneur 4. For enabling the tray icon you can use the following: gconftool-2 -s -t string /apps/gxneur/rendering_engine AppIndicator Now go to gxneur settings and feel free to setup everything as you want. I would recommend you to turn on only manual corrections as automatic ones could be really annoying and even frustrating. I set ctrl+shift to change the layout and don't experience difficulties with ctrl+shift+[key] shortcuts independently of the current layout now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1226962 Title: Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout in 13.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ibus/+bug/1226962/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

(I can't use the X.org X Server open source driver, because I get a lot of visual artefacts / screen refresh problems when I use it). Furthermore, adjusting the brightness directly from the GUI, using the slider in System Settings - Brightness Lock works correctly, changing the screen brightness, as is expected. This change in screen brightness can be confirmed by issuing the following commands: pkexec /usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon/gsd-backlight-helper --get-brightness and cat /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/actual_brightness and cat /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/actual_brightness Ubuntu Release: -- Description:Ubuntu 13.10 Release:13.10 Package version: - gnome-settings-daemon: Installed: 3.8.5-0ubuntu11.1 Candidate: 3.8.5-0ubuntu11.1 Version table: *** 3.8.5-0ubuntu11.1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3.8.5-0ubuntu9 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy/main amd64 Packages Expected Behavior: --- After issuing the command pkexec /usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon/gsd-backlight-helper --set-brightness XX, the following should happen: 1. Thank you for using Ubuntu and taking the time to report a bug. Your report should contain, at a minimum, the following information so we can better find the source of the bug and work to resolve it. Submitting the bug about the proper source package is essential. For help see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . Additionally, in the report please include: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'cat /etc/lsb-release' or System - About Ubuntu. 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'dpkg -l PKGNAME | cat' or by checking in Synaptic. 3) What happened and what you expected to happen. The Ubuntu community has also created debugging procedures for a wide variety of packages at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures . Following the debugging instructions for the affected package will make your bug report much more complete.
