[Bug 1245209] Re: Flashback (no effects) session unusable in Ubuntu GNOME Saucy Trusty

2014-02-15 Thread Erick Brunzell
This appears to be fixed in gdm version (3.10.0.1-0ubuntu3) trusty but
I'll follow up more during the Trusty Beta testing cycle as I'll need to
test Saucy - Trusty upgrades at that time.

The fix has been released already in Ubuntu

asking about GNOME, then contact a GNOME developer or comment on their

[Bug 935584] Re: gnome image viewer (eog) shows only black for certain images

2014-02-15 Thread David Girault
Hi,

I have the same bug here, with intel gfx.

I found this while searching for a solution:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70527

I don't know if patch commited in Xorg Intel driver at 2013-11-04 15:13:38 is
included in Ubuntu xorg-video-intel driver.
It seems a bug should be create for xorg-video-intel package on saucy.

[Bug 1232454] Re: Computer will suspend very soon because of inactivity. dialog when resuming from suspend

2014-02-15 Thread Bachi
I would love to have a word with the developer of this feature and I wonder how
this went through QA. It's so obviously broken that it looks like the feature
was never tested. And I also wonder what takes so long to just remove the
unwanted feature.
(sorry, but such silly things are annoying - and would be easy to circumvent
with the proper QA process)

[Bug 1224732] Re: Custom keyboard shortcuts don't work

2014-02-15 Thread Edwin Pujols
As Markus says, xim worked at first, but now (on trusty) it stops
working in certain circumstances. I made it work by switching with ibus,
logging out, and switching back then I restarted (I guess logging out
would have done it, though). But it stopped working when I switched
tty's by pressing Ctrl+Alt+12.

[Bug 1164016] Re: restore type-ahead find

2014-02-15 Thread Adam Dingle
Daniel, I believe you should now be awarded the Bountysource bounty for
this bug. It hasn't closed yet (probably because this bug still points
to an open GNOME issue that is only semi-related), but I just emailed
them asking to close the bounty. They're usually pretty responsive so I
expect to hear back soon. In any case I expect we can resolve this with
them directly. Thanks again for your help fixing this!

[Bug 869793] Re: Nautilus is very slow when opening folders with many files

2014-02-15 Thread nanog
This bug is still present in up to date 13.10 and 14.04. The issue is
not icon previews since the same slow down occurs with small text/bin
files. Given that many people have large collections of media files
thisbug is a deal breaker for even casual users. It's a disaster in
any kind of enterprise situation with large volume data. The problem is
so bad that thunar has become part of my default install image.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu

to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.

[Bug 1280719] [NEW] Latest libglib-2.0-0 or libc updates break X.org startup or restore

2014-02-15 Thread Julien Aubin
Public bug reported:

Hi,

After latest update of the following components from 2014-02-14 :
libglib-2.0-0 and libc-bin my X.org always crashes when resuming from a
suspend, causing a hard reboot. The strange thing is that the next
reboot causes the same thing, and afterwards everything is OK again.
Note that the HDD light seems to be always on. I've checked my HDD
against smartmontools with long self tests and all is OK on this side.
The same apply for my graphic card with some tests.

My system :
Kubuntu 13.10 AMD64
AMD Phenom x4 9850
Mobo Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe with NForce 570 SLI chipset (*)
8 GB RAM
NVidia GeForce 660 Ti with 2 GB of RAM and NVidia 319 binary driver.

(*) - for the suspend/restore, I use the workaround detailed within bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1181878 . However
my computer starts a normal resume after a suspend, and freezes when the
Xorg server appears.
