[Bug 1244548] Re: Keyboard shortcut for changing keyboard layout does not work on lock screen
Upgraded my 12.04 to 14.04. I have gnome-screensaver installed, so if I lock my laptop with Ctrl+Alt+L I unable to switch keyboard layout on the lockscreen. [Bug 1244090] Re: Pressing keyboard shortcut to switch keyboard layout causes temporary loss of focus
** Tags removed: amd64 ** Tags added: trusty trusty-desktop ** Description changed: When pressing keyboard shourtcut for switching keyboard layout, focus temporary switches from active text input to something else, then restores back when releasing keys used to switch. Maybe even active window loses focus, but window frame does not shows this (window header remains to look active). For example: when I press ctrl+shift here, when writing this description, yellow frame disappears from text input box, text caret disappears too; they appear again when releasing ctrl+shift. The same occurs in all other programs, i.e. terminal. It causes serious annoyance, for example in Twitter when losing focus in Reply text box, reply rolls up and I have to click it again with mouse and set caret to correct place each time I switch keyboard layouts. Other key combinations, not only ctrl+shift, also cause this. + -- + For other layout switching problems introduced in Ubuntu 13.10 you can see bug 1218322. + -- + + ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: gnome-session 3.9.90-0ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-12.19-generic 3.11.3 Uname: Linux 3.11.0-12-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.12.5-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Oct 24 11:42:19 2013 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-10-23 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander - Release amd64 (20131016.1) MarkForUpload: True PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: gnome-session UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1244090 Title: Pressing keyboard shortcut to switch keyboard layout causes temporary loss of focus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1244090/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.
Successfully upgraded my 12.04 to 14.04. In 12.04 I had Alt+Shift L for layout swithing, so I set this combination on the first login in 14.04 ('gnome-control-center keyboard' for GNOME FlashBack, 'unity-control-center keyboard') to Alt+Shift L and it works as expected. So keyboard layout switching is working, so this bug seems to be fixed. But there are other bugs, which are not fixed: * bug 1299519 - Unable to rename new folder in GtkFileChooserDialog while changing keyboard layout this bug is related to bug 1244090 - Pressing keyboard shortcut to switch keyboard layout causes temporary loss of focus * bug 1280759 - Unity shortcuts (Super+A/F/M/C/V) do not work on non-latin layout in Trusty - shortcuts are defined via keyboard layout, not the keys * bug 1226962 - Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout in 13.10 and 14.04 works in Unity, but not in GNOME FlashBack sessions * bug 1245473 - Binding ctrl+shift, alt+shift, etc for switching keyboard layout makes shortcuts with ctrl+shift, etc not working in any program works in Unity, but not in GNOME FlashBack sessions * bug 1245137 - hotkeys for keyboard layout switching do not work in unity-greeter in Saucy and Trusty * bug 1244548 - Keyboard shortcut for changing keyboard layout does not work on lock screen this bug is fixed for unity-greeter, but is not fixed for gnome-screensaver ** Description changed: *** The old PPA, ppa:attente/1218322 is superceded by the following one. [Bug 1310493] [NEW] Hidden files in the home folder are being displayed by default every time a new window is opened or the application relaunced.
Public bug reported: When I open nautilus, a new window to the home folder, the hidden files get displayed by default even if their display is toggled off. Even though this is very minor issue, it is very distracting for the user to see all the hidden files every time he/she opens or launches a new window using nautilus. This is strictly a graphical issue. I am using Ubuntu 14.04. [Bug 1270574] Re: keyboard layout settings must be consistent between gnome-control-center keyboard, indicator-keyboard and gnome-tweak-tool and /etc/default/keyboard
** Description changed: Dear Ubuntu developers. Ubuntu 14.04 LTS will be released very soon. It seems that it will be based on GNOME 3.8 or 3.10 (you know exact version). It seems that because of modern GNOME Ubuntu users will have very reduced set of keyboard layout options. Previous Ubuntu LTS version (12.04) was based on GNOME 3.4 and have very wide spectrum of keyboard layout options. But in newer GNOME versions, on which for example, Ubuntu 13.10 is based, this options are very limited. Many options are moved from gnome-control-center keyboard to gnome- tweak-tool (see bug 1245064). I have suggested already to include gnome-tweak-tool in default Ubuntu 14.04 installation (see bug 1270572). But for now it seems that settings between gnome-tweak-tool, gnome-control-center and indicator-keyboard are not consistent. - For example, if I set + For example, if I set Use keyboard LED to show alternative layout to Scroll Lock on Typing section of gnome-tweak-tool the Scroll Lock does not indicate alternative keyboard layout as expected (it is a bug). [Bug 1310503] [NEW] gnome-control-center doesnt have all translations
Public bug reported: gnome-control-center does not appear fully translated, even though it is fully translated in launchpad. [Bug 1247221] Re: Nautilus doesn't remember setting for showing hidden files correctly when org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser show-hidden is true
My similar bug report on 14.04 got linked to this one. But mine is not identical. The difference: on this report the original poster writes, When changed via gui the setting is remembered correctly. In my case that is not true. No matter whether I use Ctrl+H or View Show Hidden Files, the setting is never remembered after I close nautilus. If I'm remembering correctly, this used to be remembered. In 14.04 the *preference* for it is remembered (in Edit Preferences) but the current value of the setting is not remembered. Something that should be added to the symptoms in this bug report: it's not just that the setting is not remembered; it's also that the preference (In Edit Preferences Views ) is apparently set to Show Hidden and Backup Files by default when you install or upgrade. That probably was not the intended behavior. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1247221 Title: Nautilus doesn't remember setting for showing hidden files correctly when org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser show-hidden is true To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/1247221/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1247221] Re: Nautilus doesn't remember setting for showing hidden files correctly when org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser show-hidden is true

[Bug 947038] Re: Rhythmbox: Add to Playlist option creates a playlist with an empty name
Still applicable to the version of Rhytmbox shipped with 12.04. This bug is still not fixed in the latest version in 14.04, although the behaviour has changed a bit. In Rhythmbox v3.0.1, Add to Playlist - New Playlist still creates a Playlist with a blank name but moves straight to renaming mode to allow the user to enter a playlist name right after adding the files. However, one can still create a playlist with a blank name inadvertently by just clicking somewhere else. [Bug 1205055] Re: Impossible to change column width of Nautilus in list view
I'm on Ubuntu 14.04 (32) and this is happening for any window in list mode, not only trash. When I maximize the window, I can resize the name column to the right to the point where the remaining columns fit. After that, it isn't possible (but, at least, you have a much greater name column). [Bug 1310887] [NEW] Rhythmbox tries to open non-audio files and crashes.

I'm using Rhythmbox 2.96 and I'm happy to post a debug log next time it happens if you like. ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1310887 Title: Rhythmbox tries to open non-audio files and crashes. [Bug 1310902] [NEW] turn on screen magnifier on login screen will render it unusable
Public bug reported: steps to reproduce the bug: 1, log out to the user switching screen 2, turn on larger text(not sure if necessary) and zoom in in universal access setting(the upper right corner) unlike what you would expect, the screen zooms in, the cursor becomes giant, then, everything freezes(a giant cursor in the middle of the noisy gray background), a small mouse cursor can be moved around, but there's nothing to click. can anyone tell me how to reset this? ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1310902 Title: turn on screen magnifier on login screen will render it unusable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/1310902/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
