[Bug 1042455] Re: Unable to set Nickserv password in IRC account options

2014-05-10 Thread Walter Garcia-Fontes
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect bug # and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better and sorry for the long time without response. The issue
you are reporting is an upstream one and it would be nice that if it is
still present in current versions someone could send the bug to the
developers of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

2014-05-10 Thread linex83
Public bug reported:

I created a bookmark in nautilus to access a server via sftp. When I'm

in, and accessing the sftp server, I'm asked to enter my credentials
again.

[Bug 792085] Re: Automatic remount of safely removed drive

2014-05-10 Thread Don Dennis
I have the bug on ubuntu 14.04 with my Seagate 1TB Backup plus extrnal hard
disk. I had the same problem with ubuntu 13.10 .
The drive automatically remounted after safely removal/ eject in a few seconds.
This behaviour was only with the USB 3 ports of my laptop. Connectd to the USB
2 ports, the harddsik spun down and powered off as it should have.

I even tried using udisks to do the same but the result was the same.

Hope this bug is assigned to someone soon. It has been almost an year
for me without a fix.

[Bug 1312362] Re: Can't copy a file from SMB share to the local file system: Software caused connection abort

2014-05-10 Thread Michael Paul
Affected by this bug also, I found this workaround for Ubuntu 14.04:

As user who needs to access the server, do this:

Step 1
create folders in your home directory which then serve as mountpoints. For each
share, you need one folder.
example: /home/user/myshare_on_NAS

Step 2
Next, create a text file that contains your credentials that are needed to
access your shares on the server, name it something like .mynascred Edit this
file, it should then look like this:
username=myusername_for_server
password=mypassword_for_server
Save, then make sure no one except you can access that file (right-click,
properties-permissions)

Step 3
make sure, the package cifs-utils is installed

Step 4
with root permissions, edit /etc/fstab to add your shares:
//ip-of-server/share /home/user/myshare_on_NAS cifs
noauto,users,credentials=/home/user/.mynascred 0 0

This is all. Log off and back, then you should be able to access your
shares using at least Ubuntu/Xubuntu standard filemanager. No additional
mount commands or scripts are required with Ubuntu 14.04 (this might be
different with older versions)

Hope that helps somehow,
Michael

[Bug 1318158] [NEW] Image lost if changes are not saved manually before restart

2014-05-10 Thread Ader
Public bug reported:

If I create a new image in Gimp, and then choose to restart Ubuntu
without saving this image manually, it is lost. In Windows, the OS
refuses to restart before you have chosen whether or not to save
changes. Should something like that exist in Ubunttu as well?

Writer and Calc are other programs where you do not get the option of
saving, but these programs display the last opened file correctly after
the reboot.

[Bug 1318191] [NEW] Shotwell does not show facebook, picassa publishing options and cannot add acount to publish to

2014-05-10 Thread pramathesh ambasta
Public bug reported:

When I click the Publish button for a photo or a group of photos,
Shotwell does not show Facebook, Picassa, YouTube or Flickr as options
for publishing. Only shows Tumblr, Piwigo and Yandex.

Clicking on the Add More Accounts closes the publish dialogue.

Result: Can't publish to any of the accounts.

The Preferences window shows all necessary plugins (PIcassa Web Albums,
Facebook etc.) as installed and active.

Before this clean install of Ubuntu 14.04, I had upgraded to Ubuntu
14.04. Same behaviour. However, I downloaded the source code from Yorba
and compiled shotwell. The publishing feature worked as expected i.e., I
could publish to Picassa etc. (I did note that Ubunut complained a lot
about my installing json-glib which was needed by Shotwell)

This behaviour is new. In Ubuntu 12.04, it was possible to publish to
Picassa Web Albums without any problems.

The attached picture shows the publish dialog *not* showing the options
and the plugins as installed

[Bug 1307631] Re: lost focus problem in icon view mode

2014-05-10 Thread Jing Wang
Hi there.
I have another idea.
I think that this error should be fixed because it causes to non-consistency
(between icon view and list view of nautilus) for UX on Ubuntu.
So I dedicated to solve this problem my myself.
What do you think about that?

Happy coding.
Hope to reply.

[Bug 221112]

2014-05-10 Thread Wettstae
Created attachment 98826
Make Level 5 choosers more easily available

The patch makes existing options for Level 5 choosers more easily
available by adding them to the rules. This is useful in its own right,
irrespective of this bug. In context of this ongoing discussion, it
would allow to change back to the old default, and allow users who
prefer the current behaviour to use the options lv5:rctrl_switch and
nbsp:level4n to get their preferred behaviour.

[Bug 285682] Re: can't mount digital camera showing a window popup message: -60 could not lock the device message

2014-05-10 Thread Janno2
I was using Entangle for tethered shooting in Ubuntu 12.04 with my Nikon
D5000.

Has been working fine for some time, but for some months now) this is no
longer the case.

In order to try to find a solution I stumbled upon this thread.

I do have the same errors as described in this thread.

The developper of Entangle was not able to solve the problem,
On www.gphoto2.org I was informed that my problem looks like the old
gvfs-problem,

I'm tired of this problem, and about to stop using Ubuntu. I do not have a
problem when a bug (re)occurs.
But if nobody seemes to be able a bug I for sure do have a serious problem.

[Bug 1318260] [NEW] Extract to directory containing asterisk

2014-05-10 Thread Viliam Krizan
Public bug reported:

Extracting files to the folder containing an asterisk in name leads to
creating new folder (also applies when drag and dropped). The new folder
is created with the name of the original one, but replacing the
asterisk(s) with the name of the archive.

For ie.:
I have folder foo **/ and an archive archive.zip.

Expected:
When extracted to foo **/ the file(s) should be extracted there.

What happens:
When extracted it first creates the new folder foo archivearchive/ where it
places the extracted file(s).
