[Bug 1226962] Re: Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout in 13.10 and 14.04
William, I have a few thoughts on the impossibility of keyboard input. I remembered that after upgrading to 13.10 this bug was fixed by removing or restart ibus. [Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates
I'm struggling with this bug as well. My situation seems to be nearly the same as Kiori's, except that even with Blueman pairing the speaker successfully, it still doesn't show up in PulseAudio control. It did work for a short while about a week ago, but then it stopped, and though I've tried to do everything I did before, and more, it hasn't worked again. Pulseaudio-module-bluetooth is installed. Loading module-bluetooth- discover doesn't seem to help. Same with adjustments to audio.conf (though to get the device to pair, it seems that sink and socket must be enabled). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-bluetooth in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1283003 Title: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/blueman/+bug/1283003/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1320157] [NEW] user space gnome-terminal overflows / file system
Public bug reported: I have two partitions on my system: $ df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/sda3 23G 12G 11G 52% / /dev/sda6 98G 67G 27G 72% /home When I run a user application (on /home) which produces lots of debugging output to the terminal, it quickly (less than a day) overflows the root file system /. I think I figured the reason for that: I selected the unlimited option for scrolling back in the gnome terminal. The question is this: why does it overflow the / rather than the /home partition? May be unlimited should be understood as unlimited within reasonable limits? I earlier reported it as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/e2fsprogs/+bug/1319667 (Of course I am not going to use this in a production application. Hi DEDan, I'm not sure why IBus affected it, or why removing IBus fixed it in the first place. [Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates
Tried what Mr Lee said, and indeed its works nows. But the problem remains that crapware bluetooth-wizard is unable to pair the device, after its paired, the above setup works 'out of the box'. The only downside so far is that without it, i could toy with blueman and get a2dp AND hsp or wahtever to be on -at the same time-. So i would have a mic on the headphone going AND the sound keeping a a2dp superior quality output at the same time. [Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates
Tried a few edits, the bottom line is that if we want both on at the same time, they both need to be loaded, which you can do with blueman, and i have no idea how to do this without it. I'm posting about this, because its ideal to have the best sound AND your headphone's mic work at the same time right. Its would-be basic situations like these that keep me quiet when people start bashing canonical, they do give linux a bad name, in spite of all the great stuff they've done, specially with unity.

[Bug 1320403] [NEW] update-mime-database thrashes hard disk
Public bug reported: After upgrading my machines to Trusty, I have noticed that when I install packages, the disk thrashes very hard while the command update- mime-database.real /usr/share/mime is running. Watching the disk activity with atop, I see that the process is reading from the disk at a rate of about 200 KB/sec, and writing at about half that rate. I can hear the disk head jumping back and forth as fast as possible. This didn't happen in the past. Something has changed, and it's not good. ** Affects: shared-mime-info (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to shared-mime-info in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1320403 Title: update-mime-database thrashes hard disk To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shared-mime-info/+bug/1320403/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1262068] Re: nvidia-prime should support gdm also
Hello, Is there more to this fix than the latest version of nvidia-prime plus the gpu-manager.conf addition? I've tried using nvidia-prime 0.6.2 plush the gpu-manager.conf changes but no luck. I'm also seeing different behavior than when I've tried nvidia-prime and prime-indicator on Ubuntu 12.04 in that a call to prime select nvidia does not cause a prime generated xorg.conf file to be written to /etc/X11/. Perhaps this is an unrelated issue though. When trying to debug my problem I also ran into another prime or prime- indicator lightdm config file that was specific to lightdm, though I can't find it now. I just remember a light that had start or upstart in it along with lightdm but there was no gdm anywhere in the file.
