[Bug 1287341] Re: Touchscreen controls both screens in dual-monitor setup
Hi, I tested it on Dell OptiPlex 9030 AIO with 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04, but it doesn't work. The touchscreen remaps to the whole extended screen. I tried to re-login, reboot the system, and re-plug the hdmi cable, the symptom is the same. ii unity-settings-daemon 14.04.0+14.04.20140414-0ubuntu1.1 amd64daemon handling the Unity session settings -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1287341 Title: Touchscreen controls both screens in dual-monitor setup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1287341/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1317599] Re: Evince doesn't show fi-ligatures in a pdf file
It was due to font substitution of standard Helvetica and Times by the TexGyre ones. Uninstalling such package made the PDF readers use some pfb files in /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1/* (Nimbus Sans, Nimbus Roman, DIngbats, ...) which seem to display ligatures correctly (at least in the supplied PDF and another one I had: both results were correct in Evince and Okular). So, I changed the target package from evince to fonts-texgyre. In my machine, it was installed from the recommendations for package installation from texlive (in my case): it recommended texlive-fonts- recommended and this one recommended tex-gyre and the depending font- texgyre. Hopefully, as it is a recommended one this does not break anything essential outside LaTeX. ** Package changed: evince (Ubuntu) = tex-gyre (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1317599 Title: Evince doesn't show fi-ligatures in a pdf file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tex-gyre/+bug/1317599/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1324572] [NEW] Rotate Image? dialog doesn't offer understandable options
Public bug reported: gimp 2.8.10-0ubuntu1, Ubuntu 14.04 1. Open an image containing EXIF rotation data. 2. Try to decide whether to rotate the image. What happens: You aren't given the information necessary to make the decision. What should happen: You are given the information necessary. A dialog appears with a thumbnail and the question: According to the EXIF data, this image is rotated. Would you like GIMP to rotate it into the standard orientation? Unfortunately, it doesn't tell you what EXIF data is, or what the standard orientation means. Most importantly, it doesn't tell you whether the thumbnail represents the image before or after the rotation it is suggesting! One way of fixing this bug would be to redesign the dialog to be dominated by two thumbnails, one before rotation and one after, and let you click on the one you want. Another way would be to not put up the dialog at all, and instead rely on you to use Gimp's normal Rotate function if you need to. ** Affects: gimp Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: gimp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: screenshot of the problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1324572/+attachment/4122300/+files/Useless%20Gimp%20Rotate%20Image%20dialog.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gimp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1324572 Title: Rotate Image? dialog doesn't offer understandable options To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gimp/+bug/1324572/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1203592] Re: Keyboard backlight does not work in Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C
Simon, Sorry about that - there was a syntax problem in regions.c I've just updated it so it should work properly now, if you are happy to test it again. The keyboard shortcut is currently set up to connect to the samsung laptop kernel driver, but since the module is disabled on UEFI, the shortcuts don't do anything. That's why I want to write a UEFI-safe module for this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1203592 Title: Keyboard backlight does not work in Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1203592/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1203592] Re: Keyboard backlight does not work in Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C
Thanks Simon, Looks like the KBCL variable is indeed the right one. Strange that it changed from 01 to 04 rather than 01 to 05 though... If you have time for a few more tests, I would love to know what values it takes when the UEFI variable is modified from 00 through 07. [Bug 1324737] [NEW] defaults.list is ignored
Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu 14.10 dev with libglib2.0-0 2.41.0-1 and pcmanfm 1.2.0-1 and after upgrading libglib2.0-0 from version 2.40.x I'm noticing that the order in my context menu has changed. Here is a testcase: /usr/local/share/applications/defaults.list contains: [Default Applications] text/plain=SciTE.desktop; /usr/local/share/applications/test.desktop contains: [Desktop Entry] Exec=true MimeType=text/plain; Name=Test NoDisplay=true Type=Application On executing update-desktop-database /usr/local/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache is created and contains: [MIME Cache] text/plain=test.desktop; With libglib2.0-0 2.40.x SciTE will be at the first position of the context menu and Test on the second position. After upgrading libglib2.0-0 to version 2.41.0-1 Test will be at the first position of the context menu and SciTE on the second.
