[Bug 1244548] Re: Keyboard shortcut for changing keyboard layout does not work on lock and login screen

2014-06-03 Thread Vadim Andryuschenko
Confirm for 14.04, BUT I've tried to press Ctrl-Shift (my switch key
sequence) several times and it works. It's unpredictable how many times
you should press key sequence to switch; seems like it depends on some
internal state of lock manager.

[Bug 1325834] [NEW] extra plugin not installable

2014-06-03 Thread Elbarbudo
Public bug reported:

I have some midi files in my sound library.

After upgrading to Ubuntu 14.04 Rhythmbox complains about missing plug-ins and
when I click on the install plug-in button it proposes
Gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad (i386)
which is not installable because I already have Gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad for

May be a discrepancy in the software lists used by Rhythmbox and the
Ubuntu ones

Same problem here on fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 x64.
How can problems like this happen? There have been thousands of table-like
browsers with multiple columns for decades. Why the need for changing
everything in every new release??? Functionality changes, location of buttons,

[Bug 1325899] [NEW] evince is excruciatingly slow on some documents

Evince is excruciatingly slow when displaying the book available for download

Scrolling can take several seconds and will often just display empty pages.

[Bug 1299747] Re: Cannot create PGP key in Ubuntu 14.04

2014-06-03 Thread TORNADO
The problem is caused by very long period when random key generator
collects random bytes. You can find gpg ... --gen-key process still
runs. This operation could take up to few minutes, so users won't wait.
When I was investigating this I have restored a snapshot of my VM each
time before the key is generated.

IMO this issue is related to the interface. We need to have some
information that the process of the key creation isn't finished.

In Ubuntu 14.04, the Evince/Document viewer (version 3.10.3) the zoom in

I assume this is a regression, since every previous version of Evince

2014-06-03 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1326038] [NEW] No logout from remote flashback session in trusty

2014-06-03 Thread Rüdiger Kupper
Public bug reported:

Since I upgraded our LTSP server to trusty, users cannot log out any
more from the gnome session. The logout entry from the system menu and
the logout button added to gnome-panel simply do nothing.

Running gnome-session-quit from the terminal, I get the following:
** (gnome-session-quit:2390): WARNING **: Failed to call logout: Logout
interface is only available during the Running phase

The only way to end the session is killall -u $USER.

Note that the X session is running remote (LTSP thin client). Same
problem when running via XDMCP.

[Bug 1251281] Re: gnome-flashback (metacity) fails to start without hardware acceleration, cloud/remote environments (Forwarded-X/XRDP/VNC/NX/X2GO/Chromoting)

2014-06-03 Thread Alberts Muktupāvels
Has anyone tried speak about this with upstream?

Did not check Eugene's patch, but my idea is simple. Just add extra
command line option to allow disable acceleration check. If it is set,
than check should not be made. For example --disable-acceleration-check.
Than sessions who need it could add that in .desktop file: gnome-session
--session=gnome-flashback --disable-acceleration-check

2014-06-03 Thread Rüdiger Kupper
Hm, I cannot reproduce this at home (standard Trusty installation,

does not work with our LTSP server.

Question: What can prevent logout from gnome-session? What can cause the
above cited error? (Failed to call logout: Logout interface is only

[Bug 1226962] Re: Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout in 13.10 and 14.04

2014-06-03 Thread Artur Eshenbrener
For me bug also fixed when I just set desired settings to xkb:

setxkbmap -option grp:rctrl_toggle,lv3:menu_switch us,ru,ua

without disabling standard gnome switcher. So, gnome switcher switches
keyboard layout indicator, xkb switches real layout.

[Bug 1226962] Re: Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout in 13.10 and 14.04

2014-06-03 Thread Nazar Mokrynskyi
Actually they live in parallel realities, so switching of layout and
indicator are in sync only if you use the same layout in all windows (I
don't).

As for gXneur:
1) Run gXneur with
gxneur -E AppIndicator
Then go to settings and press Save to make this icon rendering engine
permanent - should work fine
2) Enable manual switching on first tab of settings
3) Troubleshooting - Tracking input - Monitor the input
Uncheck this too to avoid duplication of printed symbols and similar bugs.

gXneur do not work properly, but as layout indicator it works fine.

[Bug 1326190] [NEW] MB instead of MiB when splitting archives

2014-06-03 Thread Christoph Michelbach
Public bug reported:

Hi,

if you create a 7zip-archive, you can choose that it's splitted up into
files with a certain size. I just wanted to split a big file into many
100 MB big files but as it turned out it created 100 MiB files. So every
file has 104'857'600 byte instead of the intended 100'000'000 byte.

[Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates

2014-06-03 Thread Hartwig Kolbe

After power down and restart this morning I tried again:
Bluetooth recognized my paired headset as connected, displayed the lock in the
icon, but in sound settings the headset did not show up, no sound from headset.
After
  pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover
  24
After that the headset is connecting and functioning.

So, it seems, sometimes BT can be activated directly after reboot by
loading its discovery module (which in my case returned 24).

I'm surprised about the lack of user settings Empathy provides! and I

No official themes support
