[Bug 1299604] Re: evolution keeps asking for password

2014-06-09 Thread LeadMan
Mikhail, that is... odd at least :)

Lately I found a workaround for Evo password issue, go to:
EditPreferencesEmail Accountschoose your EWS accountclick EditReceive
Options set Check new email every ... minutes to some short time.
I have changed it from default to two minutes, and that helped. Now Evolution
asks for password only once right after start :)

Please let others know if that helped you or is my case isolated lucky
shot?

[Bug 1195276] Re: Chat messages are not displayed

2014-06-09 Thread Khurshid Alam
Well this bug was reported to upstream. But I don't think they will make
a patch for 3.8 where latest stable version is 3.12. Why on earth is
this even shipped with Ubuntu? It has been broken since 13.04. Pidgin
should be default chat-messaging app.

[Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates

2014-06-09 Thread Stuart Gillies
Well I now have BT working in A2DP mode. Hopefully it will stay working.
There was never any problem pairing or connecting, just no sound would
come out and the sound settings screen did not offer any choices.

So, once paired and pulseaudio -k issued (but I don't know if that is
needed or not):

In the Sound Settings window, the headset is visible but does not offer
any options to choose a profile.

In bluetooth settings, pairing is shown but not profiles

However, found by accident, right-clicking on the entry in the Blueman
screen offers the option to select an audio profile. This was set to
'none' by default (why I cannot imagine). Setting it to High Fidelity
fixed the problem immediately.

Why have default settings that cannot produce the output that every user
is going to need? Weird. And why have both sound settings and
bluetooth settings screens, and yet the crucial function is on a blueman
screen that does not come up when looking at the settings? Bluetooth
settings and blueman should be merged.

There still remains the problem that the sound settings screen does not
allow the profile to be selected, though it did in 12.04.

The other problem of course is that there are no definitive and reliable
user functional instructions for this (or indeed most of Ubuntu) and
major searching of individual users problems and attempted fixes is
needed to find clues. 14.04 is an LTS release and all this stuff should
'just work'. Using Ubuntu is more like a research project than using a
working system.

I appreciate that lots of people give up their effort to develop Ubuntu
and other distros, and that is appreciated. But things that work (as all
this did in 12.04) should not be tinkered with until they then fail.

Now I feel better.

[Bug 157002] Re: gimp does not works with xscanimage anymore

2014-06-09 Thread Saverio
Hi Guys,

The problem is still there, and the workaround is to create an empty
file first, then the menu entries for xscanimage will not be greyed out
anymore.

This is probably a UI fix, always reproducible. It has been open 7 years
now.

How can we get this moving again?

Thanks,
 Saverio

[Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates

2014-06-09 Thread Hartwig Kolbe
What is disturbing here is the fact that this bug is unassigned or (in case of
pulseaudio) marked invalid.
That means nobody feels responsible and takes care.
We - most probably - will have to wait a long time for this problem to be
solved.

Since the manual loading of module-bluetooth-discover seems to help in
my case, is there a simple way to automatically load it at log-in?

[Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates

2014-06-09 Thread David Henningsson
Well, since the Linux kernel and PulseAudio both are in main and officially
supported, but blueman is not, and one of the problems seems to be that blueman
unloads module-bluetooth-discover,
how well do things work *without* blueman?

I e, uninstall blueman and reboot and see how well the headset works. It
probably won't fix your bug if there is a kernel error (such as
protocol not supported or re-auth of legacy device not possible),
but if the problem is only that module-bluetooth-discover does not load,
then removing blueman should fix that.

[Bug 1328381] [NEW] evolution looses write permission on remote authenticated caldav calendar intermittently

2014-06-09 Thread Brendan_P
Public bug reported:

I have a series of CalDAV calendars on my owncloud install. I access
them via Evolution and mostly it works well. However intermittently
Evolution will loose the abilty to write to these calendars. Perhaps 1-2
times a week. Can't determine a pattern but all seems fine with the
owncloud side as my mobile is able to still write at the same time as
eveolution looses write access.

Killing evolution, evolution-sourc, evolution-calen, evolution-alarm and
then restarting evolution resolves the issue.

Evolution: 3.10.4

** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
