As well, when one attempts to cancel this new File Operations window by clicking the cancel button, the button shows as if it is depressed, but doesn't actually cancel the transfer, and simply remains. Killing all the gvfs processes didn't recover the window, so it would appear to be a nautilus issue. [Bug 1170647] Re: Clicking on Nautilus’ launcher icon opens new window instead of restoring the minimized one when browsing external drives/locations
Another workaround besides unpinning the nautilus icon, is this: sudo mv /usr/share/applications/nautilus.desktop /usr/share/applications/nautilus2.desktop sudo mv /usr/share/applications/nautilus-folder-handler.desktop /usr/share/applications/nautilus-folder-handler2.desktop sudo mv /usr/share/applications/nautilus-home.desktop /usr/share/applications/nautilus-home2.desktop We're basically just renaming a few .desktop files related to nautilus. This will prevent the launcher from recognizing nautilus as a file manager and it won't execute the buggy behaviour.
