[Bug 1071345] Re: empathy contacts list compact mode is missing in 3.6

2014-08-11 Thread Valentin Lab
My fix was tested and used throughout all version from 12.10 up to 14.04
(I've updated it each time). It's not perfect as there are some little
sorting issues. Nevertheless, it fixes a few complaints on empathy. The
most easy one is the icon size for avatars.

http://vaab.blog.kal.fr/2013/04/04/fixing-empathy-in-ubuntu-12-10

And if you've never compiled source code, this should be easy to follow
and you might learn something on the way !

Please note that this fix is a quick and dirty way to set directly the
pixel size of the avatar in the source code.

It's now 2 years since the introduction of this ridiculous bug.

[Bug 1207812] Re: [FFe] Update libimobiledevice to support iOS 7, fix Trust Prompt Looping

2014-08-11 Thread Rich Wales
NOT working for me (Ubuntu 14.04, iPhone 4S running iOS 7.1.2).

I'm not getting the trust loop problem, but I am getting Unhandled
Lockdown error (-20) and cannot mount the iPhone in order to upload
photos into Shotwell.

I've tried the suggestion to make the /var/lib/lockdown directory
publicly read/writable, but this did not help.

Is there a separate bug for this lockdown problem?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1303086] Re: Pointer Speed Missing in Unity Settings for Mouse Trackpad

2014-08-11 Thread Andrew Riddlestone
I'm using Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 on a laptop, and until recently I didn't have
speed etc. for mouse or trackpad in settings.
I've just checked, and now I have trackpad speed, but still no mouse speed.

I use a Logitech M515 (wireless), which remains irritatingly slow, and
is unaffected by the trackpad speed setting.

Plugging in a wired mouse adds a new Pointer Speed setting in a new
control group called Mouse. Changing this speed setting affects both
mice. Unplugging the wired mouse hides the setting, but the wireless
mouse remains fast.

[Bug 1355331] [NEW] Revert lazy session-activation on non-seat0 seats

2014-08-11 Thread Laércio de Sousa
Public bug reported:

Please consider backporting the following patch introduced in v209:

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/systemd/systemd/commit/?id=3fdb2494c1e24c0a020f5b54022d2c751fd26f50

lead to inactive sessions for users logged in non-seat0 seats.

A similar bug was reported for Fedora. See:

[Bug 1355446] [NEW] Hicks-Sound when jumping inside mp3-file during playback

2014-08-11 Thread KK
Public bug reported:

Version currently installed: gst-plugins-ugly0.10 (0.10.19-2ubuntu5)

Affected Distro/System:
The bug occures on all systems i've tested: Kubuntu 14.04.1 x64/openSuse
13.1/Debian 7 with diffrent Hardware (intel, amd, onboard audio and high end
dedicated audiocard). So it should be a software bug. Bug is many years old, i
can remember since ubuntu 8.04.

How to reproduce:
1. Open an audiplayer like gmusicplayer, exaile, vlc, amarok, clementine etc.
and play an mp3-musicfile (CBR/VBR or bitrate doesnt matter).
2. Now, during playback, use your mouse to jump to a diffrent position inside
the mp3-file and repeat this action several times.

You now should often notice a short Hicks when jumping. It seems that
there is an 0.1-0.2 sec. long overlapping between music played at the
moment and music at the point you jump to (puffer problem). There is a
recorded ogg-file as attached to this report, where you can hear the
hickses.

Further facts:
- This happens only with mp3-files (flac,wmv, oga,wave - no problem)
- When i use an audioplayer with wine, all works fine

Workaround:
Installation of jack-soundserver and an increase of latency fix the problem

[Bug 1313298] Re: State of youtube plugin

2014-08-11 Thread Jamie Strandboge
Thank you for providing a debdiff. Two comments:
 * debian/changelog is much too terse with 'Adjust control.in'. This should be
more descriptive, such as 'debian/control.in: adjust descriptions for
youtube...'
 * changing the description is of course fine, however other comments in this
bug suggest that the plugin is completely broken or crashes. Shouldn't this
code either be fixed or not shipped?

Please adjust debian/changelog and comment on whether the code should be
shipped at all. Unsubscribing ubuntu-sponsors for now. Please feel free
to resubscribe after making these changes. Thanks!

2014-08-11 Thread Alberts Muktupāvels
Why do you think that this is bug with gnome-panel? GNOME Panel does not
know anything about touchpad nor any other device you are using.

This is most likely bug with gnome-settings-daemon and/or gnome-control-
center. But ubuntu at least for now are using unity-settings-daemon and
unity-control-center.

[Bug 1355554] [NEW] Most Rhythmbox keyboard shortcuts do not work in ver. 3.0

2014-08-11 Thread Luis González
Public bug reported:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Rhythmbox
2. Press Ctrl+space, Alt+left or Alt+right

Actual results:
Pressing the avobe keyboard shortcuts has no effect

Expected results:
Ctrl+space should play/pause the music playback; Alt+left and Alt+right should
go to te previows and next track, respectively.

I've tried this on various Ubuntu 14.04 installations, including a fresh
one.

I'm using rhythmbox 3.0.2. I guess it's related to version 3.0, because
this doesn't happen using Ubuntu 12.04, which includes version 2.96.

Other convinations like ctrl+up/down to increase and decrease the
playback volume do work; and if I press ctrl+P it plays/pauses (altough
the convination should be ctrl+space).

[Bug 1247366] Re: Evolution is missing bogofilter integration

2014-08-11 Thread Mauricio Farell Perezgrovas
It seams support for bogofilter was disabled because bogofilter package
was moved to Universe:

http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/changelogs/pool/main/e/evolution/evolution_3.12.4-0ubuntu1/changelog

I have subscribed Iain Lane (https://launchpad.net/~laney) to the bug
since apparently he is the one who can shed some light on this bug...
