It affects me too.
It happens often when I start multiple instances of nautilus by holding shift
and clicking on the nautilus icon on the launcher.

[Bug 1359242] [NEW] No Help or Preferences

Public bug reported:

gedit in Ubuntu Trusty Tahr (3.10.4-0ubuntu4) does not have the
'Preferences' option in the 'Edit' menu. The 'Help'menu is missing
altogether. The F1 button opens up the Help window. Looks like the
options are working; Its just that they are not listed in the Menu bar.
I don't know what other options are missing. These are 2 that I've
noticed. There might be others that might be missing.

[Bug 1359312] [NEW] unable to add folders/items to places or bookmarks in nautilus

2014-08-20 Thread D L
Public bug reported:

The bookmarks menu has the add bookmark item greyed-out. Adding a
location directly in ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks will show the bookmarks
section in the left pane in nautilus, or if mounting a drive like a
network share, you can right click and add it as a bookmark.

Folders or links cannot be added to Places. There's no facility to do
this.

It should be possible to either bookmark locations or folders using
CTRL-D, or drag/drop into Places.

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1243806 ***

ubuntu 14.04 LTS, 64-bit architecture.

The very same bug still present : Cannot change culumn with.

Just a guess : Might be a horizontal scrollbar issue. So the symptom is
the effect of another issue : the scrollbar / pagewidth. But that's
really just mere guessing.

[Bug 1193944] Re: systemd-shim doesn't respect /etc/default/halt setting

2014-08-20 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package systemd-shim - 7-1

---
systemd-shim (7-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release:
- Provide cgmanager integration to work with logind = 205.
- Use shutdown -h instead of poweroff to respect /etc/default/halt
  (LP: #1193944)
- Add stubs for Subscribe and Unsubscribe (LP: #1348039)
  * Drop all patches, included upstream.
  * debian/tests/lifecycle: Stop assuming that the shim isn't running
initially, as it's now often activated during login, upgrade, etc.
Instead, kill it manually to re-test D-BUS activation. Fixes autopkgtest
regression.
  * debian/tests/power: Adjust to poweroff → shutdown upstream change.

[Bug 1295925] Re: Rhythmbox displays the wrong album art

2014-08-20 Thread Shane Synan
I can confirm this happens quite often to me, on both desktop and laptop
14.04 installs. As suggested in #3, clearing the cached album art
folder fixes it, then in a short period of time it degrades into a mess
for FLAC and MP3 files.

While I have not tested this solution, the bug might be related to the
problem mentioned here (random album art):
https://askubuntu.com/a/454692/3406

I'm willing to help with any sort of testing needed.
