[Bug 427100] Re: JPEG2000 thumbnail causes browser to crash

2014-09-23 Thread Anthony Wild
There's a very simple workaround for this. Change the preferences for
the file browser (Nautilus) as per following...

Open the file browser
Click on Edit | Preferences
Click on the Preview tab
Change the option for Other Previewable Files to Never

It then displays fine without crashing

[Bug 1372828] [NEW] Altitude and vertical accuracy give NaN values (instead of being unset) when using HERE integration

2014-09-23 Thread Pete Woods
Public bug reported:

As per the title, we're doing checks like:

if (pos.altitude)
{
 // Do stuff with altitude
}

if (pos.accuracy.vertical)
{
// Do stuff with vertical accuracy
}

These checks are passing (when really pos.altitude should evaluate to
false) when using Nokia HERE integration, and the result is that we're
giving out NaN values to clients.

[Bug 1372847] [NEW] [SRU] New stable release 2.40.1

2014-09-23 Thread Iain Lane
Public bug reported:

We'd like to update glib2.0 using the GNOME MRE.

[ Description ]

Upstream have released a new stable, fixing some bugs.

glib2.0 (2.40.2-0ubuntu1) UNRELEASED; urgency=medium

  * New upstream stable release, fixing bugs
+ gobject: try to link with -Wl,-z,nodelete to prevent unloading
+ g_file_copy: Don't set GError when we intend to ignore errors
+ gapplication-tool: ensure object paths are valid
+ gtlscertificate: fix certificate list parsing with trailing comments
+ g_str_has_prefix: improve efficiency with long strings
+ Added type check to GPermission public functions.
+ GApplication: Don't decrease use_count below 0
+ networkmonitornetlink: fix IPv6 issues on Android
+ gresolver: Ensure GThreadedResolver always sets an error if resolution
  fails
+ gmacros.h: add G_GNUC_*_IGNORE_DEPRECATIONS macros for clang
+ networkaddress: fix parsing of uri with @ after authority
+ gvariant tests: workaround libc/compiler issue

 -- Iain Lane iain.l...@canonical.com  Tue, 23 Sep 2014 10:27:17 +0100

[ QA ]

Under the terms of the MRE, you can assume the bugs are fixed. I suggest
installing the update and then using your system as normal for the 10
day verification time.

[ Regression potential ]

One of the fixes could be bad. This is the first stable in this series
and is a new release, so hasn't had much testing on its own, even if all
of the fixes are in the unstable release.

[Bug 1285951] Re: bluetooth indicator disappears after turning off bluetooth

2014-09-23 Thread Charles Kerr
I spoke too soon -- the phone UX spec has the same terminology as the
wiki wrt when the indicator should be visible. Regardless, as pat-
mcgowan pointed out this bug is for desktop so the phone UX spec is
moot.

That brings us back to my original point, the current visibility logic
is as specified by design in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bluetooth#Indicator_and_menu.

[Bug 1248973] Re: The location and gps check box don't stay checked

2014-09-23 Thread Charles Kerr
I'm not able to reproduce this bug and wonder if it might have been
fixed as a side-effect of fixing bug #1348334 in mid-August.

jibel, toykeeper, davmor2, are any of you still experiencing this?

[Bug 1323212] Re: sFTP very slow to connect and causes Nautilus to randomly freeze

2014-09-23 Thread Brian Z
I'm not actually trying to connect to an sFTP server (although I do have
one in my Nautilus bookmarks) but I get these same log messages, and
Nautilus does seem quite unstable recently.

[Bug 500773] Re: Not all audio CD's contains songs, use track instead

2014-09-23 Thread Jeffrey Flaker
The attached file showcases the lines where the word songs is used.
Obviously, the actual code doesn't need to change, but there are many
places that face the user. I suggest that song/track can be
implemented instead. That way, the user doesn't get confused if they
are already accustomed to seeing songs, but new users will also
understand.

[Bug 1251281] Re: gnome-session-flashback fails to start without hardware acceleration in cloud/remote environments (Forwarded-X/XRDP/VNC/NX/X2GO/Chromoting)

2014-09-23 Thread Eugene San
Rüdiger Kupper:
Recently I've updated gnome-flashback related packages to align with recent
changes in Utopic/Sid.
Now acceleration check is skipped automatically for flashback/fallback sessions
and still can be disabled explicitly.

Packages should be fine now, but there is a chance reinstall of the ppa
might be needed.

P.S.
* x2go users should use flashback session instead of default fallback, since
fallback session hijacked by upstart and therefor is broken.
* decorations in flashback-compiz session are missing ubuntu styling (probably
missing schemes due to gconf-gsettings migration).
