There's a very simple workaround for this. Change the preferences for the file browser (Nautilus) as per following... As per the title, we're doing checks like:

These checks are passing (when really pos.altitude should evaluate to
false) when using Nokia HERE integration, and the result is that we're
giving out NaN values to clients.

I spoke too soon -- the phone UX spec has the same terminology as the wiki wrt when the indicator should be visible. Regardless, as pat- mcgowan pointed out this bug is for desktop so the phone UX spec is moot. Rüdiger Kupper: Recently I've updated gnome-flashback related packages to align with recent changes in Utopic/Sid. Now acceleration check is skipped automatically for flashback/fallback sessions and still can be disabled explicitly. Packages should be fine now, but there is a chance reinstall of the ppa might be needed.
