[Bug 1372346] Re: [FFe] gnome-desktop 3.12 transition

2014-09-25 Thread Sebastien Bacher
did you test the gnome-session update in fallback sessions? we blocked the
update because of that commit iirc
https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-session/commit/?h=gnome-3-10id=705699b2799a3434d1a8f35c9a92868a5057f73e

which removes the gtk session dialogs, that are still used in e.g gnome-
panel type of sessions no?

[Bug 1330037] Re: [FFe] upower 0.99.1 transition

2014-09-25 Thread Tim
As Laney mentoned Shipping upower 0.99 only for GNOME would be a lot of
work. I have however managed to untangle the gnome-desktop transition
from upower, so we can now land that without upower 0.99, in which case
landing upower transition as soon a V opens should probably be ok.

[Bug 1373793] [NEW] Failed to spawn SpamAssassin when moving mail to spam after upgrade to 14.04

2014-09-25 Thread mmalmeida
Public bug reported:

I've recently upgraded my machine from 12.04 to 14.04 (64 bits).

Current Evolution version is 3.10.4.

Everytime I manually move an email to junk on an IMAP folder I get the
error message: Failed to spawn SpamAssassin (/usr/bin/sa-learn --spam
--no-sync --local): Failed to execute child process /usr/bin/sa-learn
(No such file or directory)

- In Preferences-Mail-Junk nothing is checked (so spamassassin should be off).
- In the account settings, the Check new messages for Junk is also switched
off

So it seems Evolution is trying to perform some sort of spam learning even when
all the options are turned off!

[Bug 1246272] Re: Keyboard layout changing randomly

2014-09-25 Thread Gerv
I had the problem that the hotkey (Super+Space) was not actually
changing the input method, even though the icon changed. (Selecting it
from the menu worked OK). I'm not entirely sure how I fixed it, but I
ran ibus-setup and set the settings to:

* Customise active input methods: Off
* No input methods in list
* Use system keyboard layout: Off
* Share the same input method among all applications: On

and then rebooted. And it started working.

In Language Support in the prefs, my input method system is set to Ibus.
In the Text Entry prefs, I have two input sources listed - English and
Bengali (Avro Phonetic), the key set to Super+Space, and Use the Same
Source for All Windows selected. I'm also using a custom font.

It's still true that when I select Bengali (Avro Phonetic) and click the
little keyboard icon, it shows me the wrong keyboard layout (an English
one of some sort). Not sure what's up with that. But at least input
method switching works again!

Hope this helps someone,

Gerv

[Bug 1373908] [NEW] UOA integration always creates new evolution-datat-server accounts on login

2014-09-25 Thread Michael Blennerhassett
Public bug reported:

(This is probably the source of all those 'have to enter password again
after login' bugs for UOA that are floating around)

Bug symtoms:
1. Have to enter password at every login again for EDS
2. loads of accounts pile up in .config/evolution/sources (a new one on every
login)

What's going on:
ubuntu_online_accounts_bus_acquired_cb() in
eds/modules/ubuntu-online-accounts/module-ubuntu-online-accounts.c gets
connected to the bus-aquired signal.

Note also that evolution_source_registry_load_sources() from
eds/services/evolution-source-registry/evolution-source-registry.c is
connected to the same signal. Given when the plugins are loaded, UOA
connects to the signal first, so UOA tries to match up EDS accounts to
UOA accounts before the EDS accounts (sources) have been loaded.

The patch is simply to use g_signal_connect_after in module-ubuntu-
online-accounts.c, which fixes the problem for me.

Note though that this change means a whole bunch of code in module-
ubuntu-online-accounts.c that has never run will now be run...

Public bug reported:

I'm getting Attempt to unlock mutex that was not locked and a segfault
when running Ubuntu MATE Remix 14.10.

It seems this bug is reported elsewhere in a number of other packages
and is a result of a change in GLib ≥ 2.41.

I am told this patch can fix it.

Bug 1346299 bug 1344386 are related (similar issue, different app).

Note that as this is dropbox, we cannot easily fix there as it's
proprietary.

[Bug 1372847] Re: [SRU] New stable release 2.40.1

2014-09-25 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Iain, or anyone else affected,

Accepted glib2.0 into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glib2.0/2.40.2-0ubuntu1
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1262068] Re: nvidia-prime should support gdm also

2014-09-25 Thread Jean-Louis Jouannic
Since a recent update on ubuntu-drivers-common and nvidia driver I am
unable to select the NVIDIA GPU through nvidia-settings. When I try to
do so, all I obtain is a blank dialog box with a forbidden sign and an
'OK' button.

Before this update I was using the packages provided by ppa:darkxst/gdm-
prime.

Reading the comments above, I have edited the /etc/init/gpu-manager.conf
file to add the 'or starting gdm' option but it did not change anything.

What can I do ?

[Bug 551950] Re: gnome-bluetooth cannot use pin = 1234

2014-09-25 Thread Nathan Nathan
Freaking 4 years and this fundamental problem not fixed in 14.04.
Another thing: in the Ubuntu Software Center the Bluetooth package
contains most of the configuration applets for gnome that are totally
unrelated to bluetooth like keyboard settings and desktop fonts, It says
it in the description but I thought it was a mistake. That makes no
freaking sense. Why the hell is it called bluetooth then?

[Bug 1372346] Re: [FFe] gnome-desktop 3.12 transition

2014-09-25 Thread Tim
ppa:darkxst/gnome-desktop

As mentioned on irc, gnome-session update was blocked due to 3.9.90 crashing
when running under gnome-desktop 3.8.
gnome-panel provides its own dialogs, however seems they are only used when
clicking through the system menu. I can revert the dialogs for now, but would
seem consistent if fallback sessions always used gnome-panel dialogs.

re comment #5, the patch was there just the changelog entry was
incorrect.
