[Bug 1376152] [NEW] scp remote fail when exists echo command in the .bashrc script

2014-10-01 Thread Wen Chen
Public bug reported:

Generally executing scp will result as below:

wen@wen-U31Jg:~$ scp ./test.txt localhost:~/tmp
test.txt 100%5
0.0KB/s   00:00

But when there exist echo enter .bashrc ... line in .bashrc file, the
same command failed without any error message:

wen@wen-U31Jg:~$ scp ./test.txt localhost:~/tmp
Enter .bashrc ..

And of course, the file DOES NOT copy to the remote destination.
Thanks.

[Bug 1339352] Re: [FFe] Update to 3.12

2014-10-01 Thread Tim
** Description changed:

  Upstream is 3.12.4, Debian is 3.12.4-1, Ubuntu is 3.8.6-0ubuntu12
+
+ empathy 3.12 brings in many bug fixes over 3.8.6 that is currently in
+ utopic, this update was somehow overlooked earlier however it does not
+ use GtkHeaderBars and CSD's so from a UI perspective would be fine for
+ ubuntu-desktop.
+
+ We have had this release on the gnome3 ppa's for the best part of a
+ cycle and there are no major issues with it. In the last few days a few
+ of the -desktop team have played around with it also and not found any
+ critical issues.

[Bug 1372346] Re: [FFe] gnome-desktop 3.12 transition

2014-10-01 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package gnome-desktop3 - 3.12.2-2ubuntu1

---
gnome-desktop3 (3.12.2-2ubuntu1) utopic; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release (LP: #1372346)
  * Merge with Debian, Remaining changes:
- debian/patches:
  + 04_compute_average_color.patch: Compute the avergage color in
gnome-desktop itself, not in unity to fix some races (LP #963140)
  + tweak_color_computation.patch, Patch from Gord, no patch header,
no bug link.
  + git_revert_draw_background.patch
  + ubuntu_language.patch, Ported relevant bits from g-c-c
52_region_language.patch, as required for gnome 3.8 region panel
  + ubuntu_language_list_from_SUPPORTED.patch,
adds api to get list of available languages from SUPPORTED file.
To be used by gnome 3.8 region panel language installation.
- debian/rules:
  + drop obsolete --disable-scrollkeeper configure flag
- debian/libgnome-desktop-3-10.symbols:
  + Add symbols included in Ubuntu patches
- debian/control.in:
  + Mark gnome-desktop3-data Multi-Arch: foreign
  * Dropped changes:
- 02_refuse_to_break_GL_compositors.patch:
  + xrandr code has moved into libunity-settings-daemon now

gnome-desktop3 (3.12.2-2) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Add debian/patches/realpath-PATH_MAX.patch (from upstream libgsystem)
- avoids PATH_MAX to hopefully fix FTBFS on Hurd.

gnome-desktop3 (3.12.2-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.
  * Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.5
  * Upload to unstable.

gnome-desktop3 (3.12.1-1) experimental; urgency=medium

  * Drop conflicts against libgnome-desktop-3-7 because it is not
necessary: only leaf packages in G3.8 use gnome-desktop, including
gnome-shell that does work with the new g-desktop library.
  * New upstream bugfix release.

gnome-desktop3 (3.12.0-1) experimental; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.

gnome-desktop3 (3.11.90-1) experimental; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.
  * Rename packages to match new soname.
  * Drop build-dependency on libxkbfile-dev, not needed anymore.
  * Update symbols file for new soname.
  * Drop empty debian/patches/
  * Break libgnome-desktop-3-8 for the same reason as libgnome-desktop-3-7.

gnome-desktop3 (3.10.1-2) experimental; urgency=low

  * Make libgnome-desktop-3-8 break libgnome-desktop-3-7. Mixing both on one
system is a recipe for disaster when using gnome-desktop via
gobject-introspection.

gnome-desktop3 (3.10.1-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New upstream release
  * Sync with Ubuntu, bumped soname

gnome-desktop3 (3.8.4-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Upload to unstable.

gnome-desktop3 (3.8.4-1) experimental; urgency=low

  [ Jeremy Bicha ]
  * Remove obsolete build dependency on gnome-doc-utils.

  [ Laurent Bigonville ]
  * New upstream release.
- Prevent a crash with unknown language/country codes (Closes: #692453)
  * debian/control.in: Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.4 (no further changes)

In my experience, due to LP #1367244 it's rare that HERE works on boot.
However, I can reliably get a position in my regular testing setup by
restarting ubuntu-location-provider-here-posclientd after boot. Then I
always get a position after 30s in OSMTouch and in webapps.

[Bug 1376468] [NEW] Totem crashes attempting to play wmv file

2014-10-01 Thread Andrey Gelman
Public bug reported:

Totem segfaults when I attempt to open a wmv file.
The same when Totem serves as video playback plugin in Firefox.
I believe that this is some kind of dependency problem, because I have 2

[Bug 1336988] Re: totem icons are huge

2014-10-01 Thread fabio
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1309605 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1309605

I tested Xubuntu for a couple of days, and there the background of the
icons is transparent. So it doesn't covers this much of the screen.

Maybe, this is a clue!? I hope.

[Bug 1309605] Re: OSD (skip, pause) take full window (and fullscreen) height

2014-10-01 Thread fabio
I tested Xubuntu 14.04 for a couple of days, and there the background of
the icons is transparent. So it doesn't covers this much of the screen.

In Xubuntu I installed totem from the original repositories:

sudo apt-get install totem

I'm not sure, but I guess, that this is the same package as in Ubuntu
14.04. If so, then this should have to do with the unity theme, or not?

Maybe, this is a clue!? I hope so.

[Bug 1309605] Re: OSD (skip, pause) take full window (and fullscreen) height

2014-10-01 Thread Forest
I'm running Xubuntu 14.04, and the problem definitely exists here. Yes,
the icon backgrounds are technically transparent, in that the underlying
video is visible outside the icons' rounded corners, but the icons
themselves are opaque and cover almost the entire video frame.

[Bug 965921] Re: gnome-shell most keyboard shortcuts not working

2014-10-01 Thread a_user
since todays update for gnome in ubuntu gnome 14.10 this suddently
happend to me too. 99% of all keyboard shortcuts stopped working
including media keys, custom keys. actully so it seems all but alt+tab,
alt+F2 and the super commands to to open the aktivities or application
menu, and the desktop navigation is still wokring.

but i think more or less anything else isn't working anymore, even not
screen shot with printkey.

The keys themself are working as i am able to set them in the settings,
they are recognized by the settings programm.

[Bug 1376523] [NEW] Gedit text coloring function hangs 2x 1700MHz on certain or big content

2014-10-01 Thread EsAmo
Public bug reported:

Hello.

Gedit hangs (no interaction and then shadowed window) on certain content
(attached) - especially when scrolling, for about 30 sec on 2x 1700MHz machine.
I call it a bug :) . For sure text coloring function requires some optimization.

But forget about specific text, because anyway I have to wait 1-3 sec
for gedit to contemplate what to paint and how, still having the issue
from Ubuntu 12. Few seconds is not much but image how it slows
programmer work... though I can't stop using my beloved gedit!

Current machine configuration.

[Bug 1376530] [NEW] GTK apps crashing with Attempt to unlock mutex that was not locked

2014-10-01 Thread onesandzeroes
Public bug reported:

Attempting to run some GTK apps (e.g. pyrenamer) on 14.10 results in an
immediate crash, with the message Attempt to unlock mutex that was not
locked.

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=735428 seems to be the
relevant upstream bug, and there is a patch here:
https://github.com/GNOME/gtk/commit/79c3ff3c4ed74bbcc820dac2d5180fa4d48d55ec

To some extent, this seems to be the result of individual projects using
GTK incorrectly, and some fixes have been made to those individual
projects.

*However*, I am also seeing this bug occur in a closed source third
party application, Stata 13. As Emmanuele Bassi mentions in the Gnome
bug thread, there are probably a lot of applications out in the wild
affected by the same issue, that in some cases cannot be fixed, so it
would be good if a fix could be included in the versions of GTK that
Ubuntu ships.
